5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor, but 4k @27" isn't a good idea.

Pros: Great colours, best IPS display I have EVER used, amazing blacks (to a fault) perfect whites, crisp pixel dense images. This monitor is wonderful and is a great price

Cons: Windows can't into DPI scaling so text and applications are either unreadable or super blury.
Video games are not happening, its a gaming monitor but my dual 970s can't even play dota at 4k. GPUs are just not there yet.
The menu buttons are just awful, I mean AWFUL serious LG who thought this was a good idea.
The Stand, very mediocre to not very good, its full adjustable yes, but hard to configure, flimsy. LG this is a $450 US monitor, dells $300 monitors have better stands than this.
Poor Selection of Cables, they give you a Mini Display port to display port and a not so great HDMI cable, again for $450 US this is unacceptable, give us a good display port cable with it.

Other Thoughts: This one is for newegg, please do not use purolator. Slow shipping times, oh did I mention someone put their foot through the box? thankfully they hit the back of the monitor not the front/

Slow and damaged on delivery, very disappointed in the shipping here.

So In summary, the panel it self is amazing and it deserves allot of praise, but the included goodies is lackluster and tech isn't quite ready to support 4k, especially at 27". but 5 stars for the awesome IPS pannel.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic monitor for the price!

Pros: - Best looking colours of any monitor I've ever owned
- 4K looks fantastic! Even small fonts look incredibly clear
- Great price-performance ratio

Cons: - (Solved! See below) Only does 30 Hz via HDMI (with a GTX960 card), docked an egg for that
- Windows has issues when using Displayport

Other Thoughts: Update 25/1/16: The monitor WILL do 60Hz refresh rate over HDMI. For that to work "Deep Color Mode" needs to be enabled (in the monitor's 'Picture | Picture Adjust | HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color' menu). Enabling that works fine with my GTX960 card and the monitor now advertises 60Hz as available to the video card. Works great! I've changed the rating to 5 eggs. Original review follows below.

First the good: The colours on this monitor look fantastic! Movies never looked so good! Great contrast too. It is good out-of-the-box, and after calibrating with I1 Display Pro the colours measure spot-on. This monitor really does sRGB!

The bad is that despite having a graphics card that can do 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz (a GTX960 card), the maximum the monitor seems to advertise to the card is 30Hz and no amount of trial has changed that. I have tried entering the resolution and timings manually, but that does not work. I do use the HDMI cable that comes with the monitor, since they advise to do so to get full resolution and refresh rates, it's not the cable, it is something between the handshake of monitor and graphics card.

This is bad because the monitor will do 60Hz via Displayport. However, Windows (including Windows 10) has a long-standing bug where if the monitor looses handshake (due to sleep mode, or just because the monitor gets switched off) Windows will assume a minimal resolution and re-arrange all your windows semi-randomly with odd sizes. That means you end up having to resize and reposition all program windows almost every time the computer comes out of sleep mode. This is not LG's fault, but it makes Displayport use nearly useless. HDMI does not suffer from this, but it will only do 30 Hz no matter what.

The LDC panel in this monitor is very, very good. It's clear LG saved in other areas (no USB ports, fairly minimal inputs, lots of plastic) but they did not save where it counts. This monitor produces an incredible picture, and does so at 4K!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat ips 4k 60hz freesync monitor

Pros: - ips
- pretty good viewing angle
- Freesync
- can rotate the screen to almost any angle
- good menu

Cons: -Bought it on sale.. however the day right after it was another 50$ off...

- i dont know why but even with freesync turned on i see some weird stuff going on even at 60 or 85 fps( limited it to 85 might be the reason) using a single r9 290
however i got 2 r9 390 sapphire on their way so i might update this review

Other Thoughts: in all these 4k monitor out there this was the only freesync ips monitor

wasnt sure between this one and the samsung tn pannel freesync 28 inch but im glad i picked the lg 27mu67 exept for the 50$ off but this dont have anything to do with the product but newegg itself ..

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the money

Pros: 4k IPS screen
10 bit panel
Great colour with some tweaking
No need for Anti-Aliasing
Freesync
Low input lag for IPS (even has a setting to improve it as best as it can)
No Stuck or Dead pixels
Scaling down to 1440P or 1080P look pretty good from native 4k

Cons: Freesync is only targeted from 40hz to 60hz
Little bit of ghosting and light bleed, but it is an IPS panel
Need beefy cards to run at 4k
touch sensitive control buttons

Other Thoughts: My first attempt with 4k was with the ASUS PB287Q for a week. I couldn't stand the TN panel even though it was the best I've seen for one. It advertises as a 10 bit panel, for the life of me I couldn't get it to work with my 290x. It also didn't have Freesync which now that I have it, I couldn't live without it.
So it went back, and I took a chance on this monitor. I'm glad I did, and bought it during the Black Friday sales that were going on. Worth the money in my opinion if you can drive at 4k. I own three 290x cards in Tri-fire and for the most part I definitely can at highest settings and really no need for Anti-Aliasing. Also works just fine in 10 bit with my 290x.
I can't explain in words on how good Freesync or Gsync for that matter is until you experience it. It is definitely a must for any new purchase for a monitor if you do gaming. I ran 120hz 1440p before, and now with Freesync, I really don't miss it. I find it so smooth even at 60hz. The only downside is this panel only has a span of 40hz to 60hz for freesync to work, however I found a website that you can modify the monitor driver to lower it to a possible 33hz to improve the range. YMMV.
It took a while to get all the settings dialed in with using the touch sensitive buttons, it takes a little getting used to. Once I did, I was glad to see no stuck or dead pixels.
Resolution wise, going from 1440p to 4k wasn't a big leap as I though it would be. If I was at 1080p I would definitely say it would be worth full price. However on sale and knowing I can downscale to 1440p without the usual blurriness if I can't run a game at native resolution, I would say it's worth the money, especially with Freesync included.

5 out of 5 eggsBest monitor ive ever owned

Pros: The viewing angles are great.
The colors are RICH I cannot stress this enough. RICH.It looks like im playing totally different games.
Blows the cheapo LED 1440p panel I had prior out of the water.
I havent had a monitor with an up and down stand in forever. I love it!

Cons: Not really a con more of a learning curve. To get Freesync to work you must first ENABLE it in the monitor settings! Took me way to long to figure that out

5 out of 5 eggsGreat display

Pros: The color is great, the display doesn't have any visible issues, and 4k resolution is really nice for gaming and photo editing. Freesync is REALLY nice. It operates from 40hz-60hz, and makes a huge difference in screen tearing.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have a 3 monitor setup, with this in the center and 2 1080p monitors on the sides. The 1080p monitors look really terrible in comparison, and they are pretty high-quality IPS monitors for photo editing. I guess I'll eventually have to buy two more 4k monitors to even things out :)

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than my NEC PA271W !

Pros: This monitor is amazing. Out of the box calibration is good.
After calibration with X-Rite Display Pro, the black are at 13 cd/m2, and the contrast is 776 to 1. I can play 4k videos at 60 frames per second using Geforce GTX750ti/sc graphic card. For photo editing this is the perfect choice at less than half the price of a NEC PA271W. I like the soft touch buttons for using the menu. This is an IPS panel, not a TN.

Cons: No cons

4 out of 5 eggsAn excellent 4K monitor

Pros: 10-bit color IPS AdaptiveSync panel. Goes from off to full on in under 3 seconds. Excellent colors. The default brightness was too bright, a good problem to have. Audio through DisplayPort and HDMI works. Changing resolutions is seamless; there is no flicker or delay. Considering that some games are resolution limited this is a big deal. I did notice a difference in picture quality from a 4K movie to a 1080p movie.

Cons: The controls are sensitive and un-intuitive. Changing inputs is not quick or easy. I thought about getting two of these and use the second as a double my TiVo mini. But there was no quick way to change inputs, especially since the front buttons are annoying. An earlier review wrote about eye problems. I was worried about that since I have ultra sensitive eyes, I cannot watch 3D movies with getting terrible headaches. The only problem with my eyes is the panel was too bright by default.

Other Thoughts: I was considering this or the Samsung U28E850R, the European version of the U28D590. I almost bought the U28E850R even though it is a TN panel because it supported 10-bit color and a rear soundbar. Then I saw a review which said this panel was a 10-bit color panel too, and decide to go with this one. The only problem with 4K panels is that Windows 7 doesn't have proper DPI scaling. What are my choices? Aero-hating, privacy-hating, subscription-loving Windows 10. No thank you. Finally, be sure to turn off FreeSync unless you have a FreeSync video card. (I don't yet. Waiting for the next generation AMD video card next year.)

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect picture

Pros: Looks and works great for gaming. I went from a Benq 1920x1080 120hz to this. I was worried about losing 60hz but I don't notice it

Cons: Downside to 4k I lose my mouse when playing Diablo3 well that's not the monitors fault it's diablo 3 not being optimized for 4k. I just use YOLOmouse

Other Thoughts: My setup

390x
8320 amd
8 GB of RAM

4 out of 5 eggsA good monitor

Pros: Outstanding colors, fantastic resolution, low input lag, enough inputs without providing far too many at the expense of latency. Freesync compatible, provides reader mode.

Possibly "Flicker Safe".

Cons: What is "Flicker Safe"? My eyes have hurt quite a bit since using this monitor. I can't detect your typical PWM at use, but there seems to be a light flickering effect of a different kind if viewing the monitor with my iPhone camera. Whereas PWM will give you lines going up and down the screen, this one literally shows slight fluctuating pattern.

But this could all be normal. What catches my attention is the wording of the feature itself. "Flicker Safe" is advertised as "near-zero" or "almost zero" levels of flicker, allowing you to use your display "for longer periods of time without strain". LG sells products that come with a bona-fide "flicker-free" labeling, so what is the difference between "safe" and "free"? Part of me wants to believe that the former means that flicker of some kind -is- there, but unnoticeable to majority of people due to the kind used or the way its implemented, while the latter means 100% flickerless.

I could just be going crazy. But man, do my eyes tire. And its a shame, because when you do look at it, the picture is beautiful.

Other Thoughts: Some outlets have this monitor at crazily low prices. Shop around, unless you're Newegg Premier.
