- Pros: Crisp, beautiful, silent, no dead pixels. The viewable area is astounding on games like FEAR, Europa Universalis III, and Silent Hunter III/IV. Peripheral vision is sorely underrated.
- Cons: Color correction was a snap in Windows with the nVidia tools, but was trickier in Ubuntu.
The lack of a vertical height adjustment on the stand doesn't bother me, but it's a little shaky. I duct taped it down onto my desk to keep the cat from knocking it over.
No DVI cable is included, but I knew that from reading another review and ordered one with the monitor.
Some old games don't play well with widescreen. I'm looking at you, Dungeon Keeper.
- Other Thoughts: This was one of the most sensible and intelligent computer purchases I've made in the last several years. Take THAT, 5.25" bay cupholder/cigarette lighter!
Oh, and make sure your graphics card can handle 1680x1050 and still run the games you want to play. If it can't do it, think twice about getting an LCD with that kind of native resolution. Or get a better graphics card.
First Impressions
- Pros: Clarity. No problems. Viewsonic. BF2142 looked amazing at 1680x1050. Newegg. 5ms response. Price was nice. Cleaned up my desk... big monitor in a somewhat compact design.
- Cons: No DVI cable.. bummer. Sometimes when my dog hits the desk, the monitor will shake just a little; discipline the dog.. good monitor.
- Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a Dell 2000FP 20 inch lcd.. it had a 25ms response.. needed something faster. i couldnt be any more pleased.

Excellent Quality
- Pros: Compared to others that are rated at the same brightness, this is definitely brighter and clearer. Excellent monitor very good quality would recommend well worth the money.
- Cons: Not the best Vertical viewing angle but that is minor, the part I'm angry about is that they ripped me off on the mail in rebate. They said they never received the UPC that I know sent and by the time I got the letter notifying me about it was too late.
Great upgrade
- Pros: A must over 15", 17" or 19" LCDs. This is a sweet screen, even through d-sub hook up. I love the real estate you get on the desktop now.
- Cons: No DVI cable. Odd for a DVI monitor. Oh well the D-sub worked fine.
- Pros: its simply beautiful no dead pixels thanks newegg

- Other Thoughts: glad i took the risk buying this open box came out fine, some complained about stablility of stand but unless you plan on setting this up on a train don't worry, cod4 on 1680x1050 w/ everything looks amazing on this monitor
