3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Integrated webcam
Response rate is great
Reliable (own it for the last 5 years no problems)
Integrated web cam software
You are able to adjust the height and angle of the monitor (by far my favorite feature)
Normal power cable (no black box power cable)

Cons: The speakers are absolutely scheiße
No HDMI so you will need a VDI or VGA and an audio cable
The new LED monitors put its picture quality to shame

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful thing!

Pros: Great looks, Sharp image, great for gaming!
The camera isn't that bad for a built in camera and is better then my old Logitech external camera.

Cons: Menu is a little hard to deal with at first and to get it at 85 Hertz you have to do it manually through your video cards control panel. Fingerprint magnet but that's because of the glossy black finish

Other Thoughts: Got this thing running on 85 hertz with my Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX and it's gorgeous for gaming. I went from a 17 Inch LCD to a 22 Inch and if I look at my old one, it feels like it's half the size of my new one, Literally.

4 out of 5 eggsNice monitor, but dirty

Pros: Very sleek and clean-looking. Easy switching between VGA and DVI inputs. Solid construction. Very good image quality. No ghosting whatsoever. Well-placed audio and video ports. Cable management clamps in the back keep wires in check, to some extent.

Cons: Horrible microphone, speakers and camera. Do NOT get this monitor for those. Somewhat poor viewing angle. Auto-adjusting to non-native resolutions is poorly handled, leaving the image off-centered or badly cropped. Does not do portrait mode. Lacks a USB hub, which could have easily been integrated since the camera is USB-powered. Screen would have looked much better as glossy rather than matte finished.

Other Thoughts: While the glossy black finish looks amazing, it collects dust and fingerprints like nothing else. If you're a neat freak, then you probably won't mind it.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than VG2230wm

Pros: Very clear, bright, sharp, slick. I have multiple VG2230wm LCDs that I previously purchased next to this in my setup(4 monitors), and this clearly shows as the superior picture.

Cons: No trade-in program for VG2230WM's so I can have the same model for all 4 of my LCD's!!! :-)

Other Thoughts: I haven't tried the webcam yet. Everyone says the speakers are horrible, but who uses monitor speakers anyways...

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor!

Pros: Beautiful monitor. No dead/stuck pixels. Fast response time for gaming. 5ms with 2 ms GtG. Extremely little backlight bleed versus other monitors I've owned. Built-in webcam is top notch for being 1.3 megapixels, a bit grainy though.

Cons: No HDMI port. However, DVI port is HDCP compatible thus you can just use a DVI to HDMI adapter.

Other Thoughts: No USB ports, not really a con, I can do without them.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Monitor, Great Colors!

Pros: One of the biggest reasons I choose this lcd was because it had the adjustable stand which is a really nice addition to a monitor of this size. Colors are vibrit via DVI.

Cons: The stand is designed odd. The power button is a big silver circle accross the bottom of the lcd, I'm not to sure what viewsonic was thinking with that one...

Other Thoughts: I'm thinking of picking up another to run dual screens...

2 out of 5 eggsVx Series is Junk: Poor Quality and Poor Service

Pros: If you get one that works, while it works it is good.

Cons: I had a Vx2235wm that I had to return twice to get a unit that didn't have stuck pixels. My 2235 recently died. Rma'd to Viewsonic contractor in Tennessee. Was promised to be fixed in 14 business days. One calendar month later, I called, where is my monitor. Cust Support actually told me "we are so behind, we don't care". Suggested I wait a little longer. Called one week later, my monitor is dead (duh), they are "looking for a replacement (refurbished). Waited. Called again. "Still looking". Called and spoke to supervisor, "found one", will send. Received unit. Had shimmering scan lines, got bad monitor. Called support, had to speak to supervisor to get them to issue another rma. Sent back. Called after shipper said it was received. ?When are you sending me something that works? Was told "we are looking for a replacement". Finally got them to ship a comparable replacement Vx2255wmb. Recevied refurb "tested as new" vx2255. Has dead red pixels. Advise>Buy SAMSUNG ONLY!

Other Thoughts: After I had sent back the first bad replacement monitor, and couldn't get any intelligent answers, asked again for a supervisor and was told "they all are in a meeting", "one will call you back". Yeah right. No calls back. Quality control on Viewsonics Vx line obviously is totally missing. The supervisor authorizing the return of the bad replacement montor told me he would indicate in his system that they must test the 2nd replacement before they ship it to me. Was assured from the initial RMA that they only send out only "tested as new (same stricty (huh) standards as their new units). Would not admit to refurbs. I guess they do actually test as new. Many of their new monitors are defective ;-(

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy!

Pros: Very nice monitor for a great price. This has height adjustment as well as tilt and swivel and a built-in webcam. Super easy to set up and get running. This is my first widescreen and I'll never get anything else. The resolution is fantastic! It got here super fast. Newegg rocks!

Cons: I had to increase my text fonts because they were a bit tiny at this resolution. Not much of a con!

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my daughter's CRT monitor and liked it so much I bought one for myself to replace my 19" HP flatscreen. I bought myself an open-box of the same exact monitor and it came with all the accessories. Neither monitor had a single bad pixel. If you want to get into widescreen monitors, buy this one!
