5 out of 5 eggsGreat 720P Projector

Pros: I purchased this projector back in March of 2008. I haven't had any problems with it. The projector is currently hooked up to a KVM switch so I can switch between my computer and Xbox 360. I am only using the VGA port with a 50 ft. cable.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsNice!

Pros: Got this projector the week before taking a group of kids from church on a trip to Florida. We used it every day to play DVD's and do presentations. It performed great and has a great picture.

Cons: The power plugin is on the side instead of the back, but hardly a con.

Other Thoughts: I really did some research before buying this with the church's money, and this one was definitely the best bang for the buck. Awesome projector!! (and we still use it every week btw)

3 out of 5 eggsGreat but not perfect

Pros: This projector has a great image for the price. We have this projector in church and even with the stage lights on you can see it well.

Cons: 9 months after we got the projector the S-Video and RCA jacks went out. We haven't pulled any cables out since we put them in, so its probably a card inside the projector that went out. VGA still works fine though. Also the remote is almost unusable over a distance of 15 feet.

Other Thoughts: At the time this was the best deal running. Were going to send the projector back to Viewsonic and hopefully they don't take very long to repair.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Got a free bulb Mail in Rebate, came (took like 4 months but who cares), projector looks incredible, sure it doesnt have dvi input or hdmi for that matter, but a lot that do have those inputs dont have 1024x800 res, so quality is a bigger loss when you scale compared to the cables...

Cons: None, buy a screen, personally i'm using an accuscreen 120' inch looks wonderful.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat picture

Pros: Bright screen and bright colors. even with lights on.
I have it connected to my computer and I watch dvd's and tv through my tv tuner in the computer. I first had it connected to the tv out via a s-video cable. Then decided to try VGA. The vga output is many times better as far as colors and brightness goes. About 13 feet from wall to wall and i get about a 90 inch screen. Easy to setup and the price was right.

Cons: You will want to get a ceiling mount. The projection does not shoot straight out of the lense, but shoots upward at an angle. At 5 feet from the floor I have to place something under the rear of the projector to prop it up to keep it from projecting to high (on the ceiling).
Not really a con if you do not mind walking in front of it.
I plan on getting a ceiling mount.

Other Thoughts: Overall great picture. 3 year warranty
I bought this while there was a free bulb rebate by mail.
3500 hour average blub life when most specs on other projectors show 2000 hour bulb life.

4 out of 5 eggsViewsonic

Pros: Great deal for the money, and you even get a rebate for a free replacement lamp. I thought that was a good deal in its self. I am very satisfied with this projector. Was very easy to set up and use.

Cons: Does not have alot of menu features that I would have liked to have, however it was not the most expensive unit listed. Wish it was shipped with a VGA to Component cable in lieu of the VGA to VGA cable.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a good deal and would recommend

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Projector! I have a 123" TV

Pros: Excellent picture quality. I have a livingroom with a large empty wall, and I'm able to get a very very nice picture on it. Its 123" diagonal at 18' distance from the couch. The wall is a dark green/gray color, but the projector is bright enough that you can't even tell. In daylight, the picture gets a little washed out, but I'm sure a proper white screen would fix that. At night, (when i usually watch movies with friends) the picture is just perfect.

As mentioned by others, you'll want to focus the picture and then adjust it slightly back out of focus to eliminate the pixels. You can of course still see picels on a 123" screen when you walk up to it, but at couch-distance this thing is just ungodly awesome for watching DVDs.

Bulbs are expensive, but I got a rebate offer for a free bulb (which I have still not recieved a month and a half later...)

Cons: The projector isn't as wide-angle as one might like. My livingroom is 20'x13.5', and I could have a somewhat larger picture if I could get the picture farther from the target wall, but I'm using the full 20' distance already.

Bulbs are expensive. If you had a power outage and the projector were not able to cool down before turning off, it might cost you $200 from an exploded bulb.

Other Thoughts: I would not reccomend this for daily viewing (because of bulb cost), but for weekend movie watching the bulb should last more years than the technology will be useful.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The biggest pro is that it is small and packs a HUGE picture. I love having this in my living room and being able to watch TV or movies on a my wall. There really isn't a screen door effect, unless you get really close. Bright picture enough to be able to watch TV and movies during the day. It is of course even better at night, but that goes for saying.

If you have your TV setting on widescreen it'll remember it each time you cycle through the sources.

Cons: Only con that I really have seen in the past couple of weeks is that when I switch from my cable to my computer, the signal isn't recognized by the projector immediately. If it doesn't recognize it, it'll move on to the next signal and then you have to go back through it again. I don't think it's my computer, it may just be the projector itself.

Other con would be that you need to have a good place to set it up. Luckily I have a place next to my couch so that its at eye level when you're sitting on the couch.

Other Thoughts: If you can find a deal that has a free lamp, do it because the lamps are expensive and having a free lamp is very nice to get in the mail. I received mine after about 8 weeks or so. Do the rebate right because they may not send it to you if there is something wrong.

Other than that this projector is great and I love bragging to my friends about how big my TV is!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy and quick hook up, out of the box and using with in 5 min. Kids can't wait to haved freinds over for movie night on their 4' x 8' foot screen.

Cons: IF shut off and rebooted quickly takes about five min to cooldown and start running again.

5 out of 5 eggsI measure my screen in FEET!

Pros: We had been checking out projectors from the university library to watch movies on the weekends and i got tired of checking in and out and overdue fees. After saving up and researching for over a year, we decided this was the one.
Excellent picture, menu. Used indoor and outdoor with great success. When the sun is setting through the glass door opposite of the screen, you can still see the picture - faint, but still okay. Used daily for movies and tv - watched the opening of the Olympics on the BIG screen! Forget 50+ inches - I measure my screen in FEET!

Cons: The zoom is so small, it's kind of pointless. And why don't projectors come with their own ceiling mounts? Also, the manual is on cd, only a paper quick setup guide. I personally like to have a paper manual to flip through.

Other Thoughts: Versitile. You can't go wrong with it. And if you thinik you did, at this price, you could probably sell it locally for profit. And NEWEGG offered excellent service again, so props to them!
