Great monitor for the price
- Pros: Pros: The image quality is 1080p and is incredible! This is wall mountable (something I'll do in the near future). Or, you can mount it to an adjustable metal arm that attaches to your desk (they are pricey though). There isn't any annoying glare on the monitor.
It has an audio line in and line out. You can hook up your HDMI device (XBOX 360, PlayStation3, or BluRay player) and hook up your PC via the 15-pin connector or DVI -D connector at the same time. The monitor is input smart - if I'm using my PC and put it to sleep, and then turn on my XBOX, the monitor automatically switches to the HDMI input display mode. It is very smart as far as power-saving goes, as well.
- Cons: Cons: The power button is bright blue and is distracting. I just put a black sticker over it and it's fine. The monitor stand is cheap and seems to be a dust magnet - it also does not have a height adjustment, you can tilt it easily though. The built-in speakers have a small sound, and they have been described as "tinny" - as though they are pumping sound inside a tin box. I'd say that's very accurate. Spend the money and get some decent PC speakers. The only feature this monitor is lacking is a coaxial input and a TV tuner, and I wish it had it. I'll get a USB 2.0 TV Tuner for my PC in the near future.
- Other Thoughts: I was a PC repair tech for 7 years and am now a web programmer, so I've seen some nice monitors from many different makers, and this one is fantastic.
The setup was easy - I didn't even need to browse the CD that contains the manual. The XBOX looks incredible with this 1080p monitor when using HDMI input. When I just start walking into the room and see my son playing an XBOX game and I see how fantastic the picture is it just blows me away. I also have an older video card but it still allows for 1920x1080 resolution, so it looks incredible with the PC as well.
Take the sharpest laptop screen you've seen, and then imagine it is 21.5" diagonally! I have the audio line out on my PC going to the audio line in on the monitor. The monitor has an audio line out for my PC speakers. Therefore, I'm not swapping my audio cables around between devices, very nice.
Simply Breathtaking
- Pros: WOW the picture is just amazing. Out of the box it was a bit funky but after I calibrated my display settings the picture was just unbelievable. Big thanks to Newegg - as usual, I received the package in just one day...amazing. Overall, this is a solid monitor with only a few, very minor drawbacks.
- Cons: Height non-adjustable. Cheap, light, plastic stand. Integrated speakers laughable. Super bright blue LED power button on front(can get distracting). That's pretty much it. But at $270 (10/13/08), the cons are negligible.
- Other Thoughts: Don't think, buy this monitor...and don't forget to send some brownie points to Newegg. Also, I'm reading the instructions right now and apparently this thing is also wall-mountable...sweet.

Lousy Speakers
- Pros: Beautiful screen – for the money you can’t beat it.
- Cons: Speakers suck. Very “tinny” – I bought this monitor so I would not need desktop speakers. I have an earlier ViewSonic monitor with built-in speakers and it works fantastically. I was hoping that this would be of equal of better quality. Not so. Now I have to use desktop speakers.
- Other Thoughts: The power indicator is very bright, somewhat of a distraction .

On A Pink Cloud!!!
- Pros: I rebuiild and upgrade my pc every couple of years (primarily used for gaming), but I had a Hitachi CM751 monitor since 1998; it was a very good monitor, but I now see colors and details that I never saw before.
I have read complaints about the blue light on the front panel, but I do not notice it unless I look at at, even when playing games in a dark room.
I have nothing but praise for this monitor!!!
