Pros: I am an SBE video engineer and find viewsonic comes as close to pro equipment as I have found at a much lower price. This is my third and it is almost too good for my four year old Pentium 4 system.
Cons: I was using a viewsonic 4X3, crt, graphics. Thinking most websites had gone to 16X9, I purchased this one. I had to buy the best video card (still available for my machine) to upgrade my PC, and upgrade my isp service to the fastest available to bring me back to equal service of my 4X3 set-up. In other words, I should have left it all alone.
Other Thoughts: Movies are SPECTACULAR. Blu-Ray, or Avid/Sony edit equipment is the only thing better I have seen, at 10X the price. I'm pleased, but unless you're building a new machine, think twice about upgrading.

Pros: Good quality screen for a fair price. Zero dead pixels. Good color control.
Cons: The shipping box was trashed. It had lots of extra shipping tape all over the lid to keep it shut because the cardboard handle was torn off. I was little concerned about the contents but they were in good shape regardless of the outside of the box.
Some may not like the stand. Monitor can only tilt back and forth.
Other Thoughts: Not using the built in speakers to can't comment on those. This is my first wide screen monitor so it took a day to get used to the sheer size.
Default configuration was off so some manual configuration of the screen (color, brightness, contrast, ect) is needed. Not a big deal. You should be doing it regardless for any monitor.
Can't go wrong with this monitor.
