Pros: Great value! No bad pixels, display looks pretty good. We had no issues with the shipping process whatsoever; the monitor was well packaged.
Cons: Speakers are pretty lame. Better to go with separate desktop speakers, but at the price we got the monitor for (under $200), this was not an issue for us.
Other Thoughts: The primary user for this monitor is an accountant that frequently needs to have windows open side by side (e.g., QuickBooks plus tax software) so she can compare numbers. When you combine the Windows 7 snap feature (for aligning windows side by side) with the wide screen format, it's a beautiful thing to behold!

Great for gaming if....

Tech Level: high - Ownership: less than 1 day
Pros: Large, vibrant display. Great for gaming, if you have the video card to back it up. I have a Radeon 5870 with a AMD Phenom 955, and am unable to run Crysis at the native resolution of this monitor (1920x1080) with all settings at max. FPS drops below 25. Guess I'll have to Crossfire the card!
Cons: Don't use the speakers, so no comment there. Blue light on the front is no big deal - ignore it. I haven't tried the HDMI yet, as I only use the DVI connection to my computer.
Other Thoughts: I'm almost ashamed to say that I didn't buy this from New Egg! Due to New Egg's dead pixel policy, I decided to buy it from a local retailer. And sure enough, the first one I bought had a dead pixel. For a person as picky as me, this was a big deal and I was happy that I could drive back and exchange it. Please New Egg, change your dead pixel policy!! I paid $20 more at the local retailer just for the ability to return it!!!!

Pros: Ever since my last 19inch ViewSonic lasted me 10 long years and many moves without ever a problem, I realized ViewSonic will be the only monitor company for me. And that old monitor is still working flawlessly, I just figured it was time for an upgrade lol.
This monitor is amazing. Takes some tweaking with the contrast/brightness and also gamma in the ATI dashboard, but so does everysingle monitor.
It is beautiful. I love the tilt on it. I don't mind the blue light on the front but I could see how some might. I don't use the speakers so I can't speak to them.
Cons: None so far...I really hope it lasts me over ten years like my last ViewSonic.
Other Thoughts: Ok so this isn't ViewSonic's fault at all but I felt I'd share. I purchased the 2 year extended service plan from NewEgg, which is supposed to kick in AFTER, the manufacturer's warranty, which is 3 years long. I figured why not spend a lil extra money for 5 years instead of 3 years protection. Well when Newegg sent me the service plan contract they had it starting one year from my purchase date instead of 3 years. I called and spoke to them and they said they would get back to me within a couple business days but that was over 12 days ago. So we'll see how that works out. If they do anything but give me the contract for years 4 and 5 I'll come on here and let you know.
