2 out of 5 eggsI regret buying this monitor.

Pros: I bought this monitor because it was large enough and cheap.

Cons: Contrast ratio is lackluster. Excessive light bleed around the edges of the screen. I got a dead pixel in the first month of use and after 7 months the monitor died. The screen turned progressively lighter over a period of 2 days from the bottom up. The refresh rate was also extremely sluggish (images persisted) with flickering in a horizontal line pattern.

Other Thoughts: ViewSonic did not honor my warranty because I did not still have the original packaging.

1 out of 5 eggsBad experience

Pros: Nice picture

Cons: The first one had a bad pixel right out of the box. I returned it for another like model which only lasted a month before the monitor went blank and stopped working altogether..

4 out of 5 eggsGood View From Here

Pros: Big display and nice HD.

Cons: There was no instructions in the box or indication on the actual buttons on how they worked. This was annoying to figure out through trial and error.

Other Thoughts: The integrated speakers sound like talking into a tin can, but I don't plan on using them full time and what else do you expect from 2W speakers.

4 out of 5 eggsVery nice.

Pros: Looks nice, better then my 18'.

Cons: It has a stuck blue pixel, after about a week of looking up ways to fix it I decided to try and "Squeeze" it out. It worked, but now there is a faint black spot where it used to be. The spot doesn't bother me much though.

Other Thoughts: I wish it didn't have a stuck pixel. :/

5 out of 5 eggsGreat 22" Widescreen Monitor.

Pros: Great monitor. Bright and colorful. Arrived with no dead pixels, and in perfect working order. 22" is a great size and was in the right price range I was looking for. Has HDMI. Speakers are hidden and do not make the monitor bigger, simple because of speakers.

Cons: I thought it was going to be a little bigger, but because it is widescreen (16:9)

Other Thoughts: When I bought this, there is a big price increase between the 22" and 23"+ models. This was on sale, and Viewsconic has always been a great brand for me.

5 out of 5 eggsGood value display monitor

Pros: This unit, installed on a Linux server, provides a clean, crisp display. There were no problems with the Linux drivers recognizing this larger screen. There were no dead pixels, and the DVI interface to the video card seems to be working as it should. The audio pass-through connection turned out to be useful in this installation. This unit is a very good value for the price.

Cons: The speakers in this monitor are only good for the most rudimentary of sound output. Don't purchase this monitor if you are expecting high fidelity sound - buy external speakers. Although very useful in my situation (due to cabling issues), the audio pass-through connection, which allows me to connect my external speakers to an "audio-out" plug on the monitor, may be reducing the fidelity of the sound slightly - further tests are still needed to confirm or deny this observation. However, this minor issue is not enough to warrant a reduction in the 5-star rating.

1 out of 5 eggsViewSonic VX2239WM-3

Pros: I guess the screen is fairly sharp

Cons: Hooked it up and had no sound. Attempted to install the included software to troubleshoot. The registration stopped me from finishing because it - 1) didn't include my model in the "required fields" pull down menu and - 2) didn't include (Mac OS-X) in the operating system menu. Tried to use the ViewSonic auto support site. Good Luck. It could not recognize any of my problem descriptions and does not provide any phone support. BUT - most of all the screen position must be tilted all the way back to get the best resolution for reading text. This causes a great deal of glare from any overhead lighting.

3 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Delivered promptly, Good size like having builtin sound.

Cons: I hooked up the monitor for the first time yesterday and it has a dead pixel in the upper Left hand quadrant of the screen. Its one one dead pixel but it is very noticeable and distracting from an otherwise good monitor.

Other Thoughts: There is also some backlight bleed through at the top and bottom of the screen when the screen is supposed to be black. I'm not to bothered by this because, it only during times when there are no images on the screen.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far So Good

Pros: Monitor works as advertised. Has no dead pixels.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Does not support anything above 60hz refresh rate on most settings above 1280x1024. I unfortunately misplaced the stand when I opened the box, after showing viewsonic my invoice from newegg they sent me a new one promptly.
