3 out of 5 eggsBleeding light but working

Pros: Working out of the box, excellent adjustement options through swivel, height, rotate etc, no dead pixels, sturdy, clear menu.

Cons: Poor contrast and brightness unless self adjusted. Looks like the only well factory set screens come from the VX line. I've had two VXs so far with excellent brightness, contrast, etc, but every other Viewsonic line comes with poor factory calibration
Nvidia options control pannel offers enough control (default screen controls aren't enough) to raise gamma and brightness properly to resemble a VX or other well set brand screens, but still hard to match it.

White light bleeding from all 4 sides of the screen, but only noticeable on a completely dark background.

Good monitor, but once again, annoyed to see that this is the second non-VX Viewsonic monitor I've bought which comes with poor factory calibration.

Other Thoughts: I don't understand why the calibration on non-VX monitors is so poor. This thing cost me over 300$, which is more than I paid on my 19" VX 5 years ago, yet I'd still use that over this.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent resolution and contrast

Pros: This model has excellent picture quality. I rotated the monitor sideways and use it vertically to view documents and web pages. Positioning height and orientation are quite easy and the base is quite sturdy.

Cons: N/A

5 out of 5 eggsA great monitor for the price!

Pros: - Sharp resolution
- Very small bezel
- Great, sturdy base
- Easily adjustable but stays where you put it

Cons: I have to go to work to use it!

Other Thoughts: Been using this monitor at my Software Engineering internship all summer. Absolutely love it. The whole office uses them, and I've hardly heard a complaint. They're snappy and sharp and well worth the price tag.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Just got this:
-No dead pixels.
-Came assembled (the stand was already attached!).
-Nice big box with a sturdy handle on it.
-Colors were 99% spot on when I turned the monitor on. I just had to do a bit of tweakage.
-It is bright but doesn't burn your eyes like some other monitors.
-The bevel isn't glossy so it doesn't reflect light.
-Text looks crisp.
-Monitor can tilt up and down and the stand seems to be well made: it takes up around 33% of the width (8ish inches vs 22ish inches).
-Decent viewing angles for a TN. The Horizontal angles are very nice.
-Ports are mounted downwards.
-Buttons work nice on the panel. Menu is easy to use and navigate.

Cons: -The bevel isn't glossy so it doesn't look "cool" like some other monitors. I was more concerned about glare from the lights behind me so I was not looking for a glossy bevel. Won't take an egg off though.
-The stand seems to sit a little high and in it's lowest setting. Isn't really an issue, but it is about an inch than my previous monitor.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am pretty happy with this. My hope was to get a 24 inch that looked just like my 19 inch NEC (90GX^2) and I think this is doing just that.

I haven't watched any movies/etc yet to comment on backlight bleed.

Hopefully this review is much better than the other ones on this page :)

1 out of 5 eggsSome major issues with this model

Pros: Very nice adjustable base, rotating/tilt/height

Cons: Horrible light bleeding from bottom of screen, zero preset display modes, bad ghosting, dynamic contrast is too dark and not effective which is why it is off by default. I do not own this product but just set one up today for one of my clients and I felt the need to come here and make this post which I would normally not do. If I were to pay $250 for this unit I would be very unhappy. The base design is great but I was amazed how much light bleeding occurs at the bottom edge, really really bad. I setup two and both were the same. There is a huge lack of controls on this unit, its very basic and dumbed down.

Other Thoughts: There is another Viewsonic VG2436 that seem to have better reviews which I will be notifying my company to try that model and not use this one, really bad. Definally recommend going Asus,Acer or Samsung for 24"s in this price range.

5 out of 5 eggsbuy viewsonic products

Pros: Like the other reviewer of this product, i dont own it. But I say buy viewsonic products. I have had the 22" variant of this product for 5 years, no so much as a dead pixel. Just a contrary opinion to that previous review.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Just a contrary opinion to that previous review.

1 out of 5 eggsdo not buy viewsonic products

Pros: none

Cons: Do not buy viewsonic products, I purchased a ViewSonic television, within a couple of months it would start up and then freeze after the splash screen, it would have to be unplugged to turn it off. Had to spend $25 for the cheapest available shipping method to get it repaired under warranty. Got it back, 4 months later same exact problem happened and not only did they have the nerve to suggest I needed to go through the same process again, they also said it was out of warranty and I'd have to pay for the service. TV got less than 100 hours of use for it and the company does not care that it sells lemons at all
