1 out of 5 eggsHad to return. Customer Service was not helpful

Pros: Love the ViewSonic line.

Cons: Would not get "dark" enough. Tried all the setting (video card and monitor) for days. When looking at an image of space the reference monitor showed the darkness you'd expect from space. This monitor showed grey.
RMA's it through Newegg and of course I had no issues! Below is my struggle with tech support before the RMA:
Tech support overall was NOT helpful. While I understand they use a "script" they would still have me accomplish things I have already told them I had done. In the end the person wanted me to take photos of my monitor and send the pictures to them. Which I did. I'm obviously not an expert, but I fail to see how a picture could have been remotely helpful since a photo (with my skills) could never recreate the picture I am seeing with my eyes (to my knowledge). Eventually gave up and RMA'd through newegg.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great color and brightness! Makes my SyncMaster 226bw look poor! When the Sync dies I will be getting another Viewsonic!

Cons: None! WANT 4 for full surround!

2 out of 5 eggsIt's either horrible or I have a lemon

Pros: Price

Cons: This LCD has the worst black levels I've ever seen. Blacks look more like mid-grays no matter what settings I use. I spent 3-4 hours calibrating this thing using several different built-in and third-party software tools (PC and Mac) and the LED backlighting is always very, very bright even with the brightness turned down. All of the colors get washed out and black is non-existent. Very frustrating experience. Yes, I have the LCD set to PC mode (not AV) and am at native resolution. I've never had so much trouble calibrating a monitor so I think I'm probably going to send it back. It's barely usable and hardly enjoyable. The software that comes with the screen is worthless and won't help with calibration at all.

Additionally, all of the controls are on the right side of the screen which means this only works well with a multi-monitor setup if it's the rightmost monitor (unless you like moving screens around a lot). Huge lower bezel and yet they couldn't place the controls on the front? Okay...

Other Thoughts: I don't think I've been more disappointed in a monitor. I suppose if you have another calibrated screen to compare it to this might be adequate. I read a lot of reviews before buying this and I can't help but think maybe something is wrong with the one I received. Everything works fine. It's just that the blacks look like garbage and the washed-out colors aren't good at all.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Monitor

Pros: This is a great monitor. Plenty of screen real estate and the image is crisp and vibrant. It was pretty much plug and use too, so no problems. The most you'll have to do is plug it in and tweak the brightness and other settings to your liking. I am really happy with my purchase.

Cons: Yes, there are built-in speakers, but they aren't very good. They're slightly tinny and muted. You'll have to turn the volume all the way up to get a decent amount of sound and even then its not very good.

This is a non-issue to me, because I bought the monitor for the screen and I pretty always much use headphones/earphones for sound. No eggs deducted.

Other Thoughts: It does everything I need it to do and it is a nice screen. No dead pixels here.

5 out of 5 eggsGood monitor

Pros: Newegg delivered this fast! Good contrast, very energy-efficient, light weight, thin panel, nice looking, non-reflective panel.

Cons: Verticle refresh is only 60Hz at full resolution (not up to 75hz). The specs are misleading. This was one of the reasons I selected this model over another. But there is no noticeable flicker.

Other Thoughts: Windows' screen font adjustment helps to sharpen the otherwise fuzzy fonts. Now they are nice and clear, just like my old Viewsonic 19" lcd monitor, except a little brighter. I seemed to get better sharpness from the D-Sub input, rather than the HDMI, but will have to try the process over again when I have time. The 300 cd/m2 brightness rating for this monitor does not result in a great deal of brightness. It's just barely adequate if you have an office with lots of day lighting like i do. Monitor comes set at 100% brightness and I have had no reason to turn it down.

5 out of 5 eggsnice moniter for the price

Pros: nice display for the price looks pictures good rather if i'm gaming , youtube, or other stuff 2 hdmi imputes comes with a hdmi cord 1080 p display

Cons: speakers don't get loud wish as far as power supply wish it was just a regular cord like a desktop takes instead of a box thing where monitor takes round looking thing

Other Thoughts: love this monitor big step up from the monitor that was 8 years old when i got this one i would recommend getting regular computer speakers instead of using the ones built in I've had this monitor for 6 months never a problem no dead pixels on arrival i would recommended this monitor

4 out of 5 eggsDecent monitor.

Pros: Great once you configure it
Built-in speakers
Good contrast ratio
Great response time

Cons: Takes a while to configure, had to look up stuff on forums. You have to play around with the menu buttons on the side
Doesn't initially come as 1080p (have to change stuff)
Built-in speakers kinda suck

Other Thoughts: Decent, good value for the price. Great once you set it all up

2 out of 5 eggsViewSonicVX2453 Monitor

Pros: Price

Cons: poor color, hard to read small printing, tinny speakers, poor support from ViewSonic

Other Thoughts: Bought for use with a mac mini, so inferior to Mac monitors it is back in the box and for sale. Lousy color, hard to read printing, tinny speakers. A low end monitor, don;t buy if using for a Mac

5 out of 5 eggsVX2453mh LED

Pros: Nice bright clear screen, Almost to bright had to turn mine down. Using this monitor on a security surveillance system were the cameras move and pan alot have no complaints with responce time or contast but tweaking is must. Have bought two VX2450wm in the recent past for desk top computers as well , Both model versions have the same great picture Just different interfaces. forgot about how many viewsonics i have own over the years. All were great! Would buy this unit and brand again, And have.

Cons: A couple small ones, Unit did not have clear plastic dust cover over screen like every other unit I have gotten, I like that cover there for the beer splats and cigarette smoke, But oh well not a big deal this time considering its applications use. And last but not least the speakers, Why even complain, Nobody uses them anyway, Its probably alright for a small quiet office or somthing, But I use seperate power house monsters anyway, Not noteworthy....

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend unit purchase, Will buy again if needed....
