5 out of 5 eggsUse for Lightroom and Photoshop! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

Pros: I had standard monitors( 2x 24" acer x223w 1680x1050) for working with Photoshop and Lightroom. I would finish editing and then put it up on the iMac and have horrible results because the monitor of the iMac is way better in video quality. There are no artifacts, bleed through, or blemishes on the View Sonic LED screen anywhere. A better Picture than my 50" 1080p big screen TV! I will be investing for another at some point. Right now I do the editing on the 27" and use the 24" for sorting images.

Cons: A bit pricey but worth it

Other Thoughts: Make sure your video card can handle 2560x1400 before you buy this or you will be stuck with the default resolution setting of your current video card. I have a GTX570, card is a couple years old but does the job well!

Also I do game a little and simply put: all games are amazing in detail!

1 out of 5 eggsPoor QA

Pros: IF you find a flawless panel the colors are impressive. Makes for a good work station monitor.

PLS with no PWM is a nice perk if PWM flickering bothers you.

Nice amounts of ports for connections and USB ports for connecting accessories and thumb drives.

Cons: Major back light bleed with two dead pixels.

Gaming - response time was not any better than the PB278Q I have now. Testing techniques in review sites are more than questionable. One site put input lag lower and all the others has it over 28.0ms. I found it felt no difference between it and PB278Q during game play.

Gaming doesn't have over shoot but in advanced preset for fastest input I get motion blur with 12ms GTG more than my PB278Q.

Over priced with comparable to gaming like PB278Q or U2713HM and workstation monitors like U2713HM also with no PWM flicker that sell for $200 less. Come down on price and be comparable as well.

Your either going to love or hate the stand. The V shaped feet take up a lot more space on my desk top as opposed to other circular or square stands where even the top space can be utilized. I personally don't like placing things in between the V, I begin to focus on those items in front of the panel. So for me it's dead desk top space between that.

The monitor could have used some sort of cable management that works. I've got wires hanging down visible.

Very poor QA and customer service.

Other Thoughts: I purchased mine directly from retailer. Returned and requested refund. Was glad to take the restocking fee. Since I'm a regular Newegg customer wanted to share.

IPS glow normal to high but expected as with any IPS monitor.

Until this monitor comes down to the $699 range it's over priced.

5 out of 5 eggsDual Monitor Configuration

Pros: This is my second VP2270-LED which I am using in a dual monitor configuration. It might seem like overkill, but for graphics design and/or software development it is ideal.

I purchased my 1st VP in 2012 and it has performed reliably like my other Viewsonic products.

Cons: Zero....just like the number of dead pixels.

Other Thoughts: I mounted both monitors on an ERGOTRON 45-245-026 LX Dual Side-by-Side Arm which adds another level of utility/functionality to the VP2270-LED.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Monitor!

Pros: I am in love with this monitor; it is absolutely beautiful! My previous monitor was a CrossOver korean IPS monitor, and while it was decent, it has nothing on the VP2770. I upgraded, as I needed DisplayPort input, and the CrossOver only supported DVI. I'm glad I did, as the color accuracy and AG coat on this monitor make it infinitely better than that korean junk! This monitor is easily the best I have ever used, and I highly recommend it to anyone who isn't scared of the slightly high price tag. After all my research and personal experience with this monitor, I believe it is one of the best (if not the best) WQHD displays on the market!

-2560x1440 is stunning. I couldn't imagine going back to 1080p or anything less again. It is just so much better!
-The PLS panel has stunning color production and extremely wide viewing angles!
-The input lag is fairly low compared to some other IPS displays (I haven't noticed any in fact).
-The monitor comes pre-calibrated from the factory and looks very accurate out of the box (the colors on my CrossOver were very saturated, but the colors on this monitor are far more true to life).
-It has a wide variety of inputs and comes with a large selection of cables.
-The OSD is intuitive and allows for a wide variety of options
-Bright backlight and no stuck/dead pixels
-No PWM! I hate PWM backlight dimming, as I have sensitive eyes and can often see flickering on monitors using this technique.
-The AG coat is just enough to stop reflections while still maintaining clarity.
-The stand is heavy duty, stable, and strong and the monitor is extremely high quality. It's very well put together and the material used is solid.

Cons: Cons:
-The monitor has some backlight bleeding issues, but it's not too bad and better than my CrossOver. Seems to just be a common occurrence on these panels. Only noticeable with the lights off and a black screen.
-The stand is big and takes up a lot of desk space
-It's expensive, but you get what you pay for. In my opinion, it's worth every penny.
-Nothing else really. It excels in nearly every way.

Other Thoughts: When I was first looking to replace this monitor, I also looked at Dell's u2713hm and the Asus PB278Q. The u2713hm is known to have backlighting issues, cross-hatching in the AG coat, and general poor build quality. The Asus used PWM backlight dimming and many have had problems with the DisplayPort input not working correctly. The Asus also doesn't come factory calibrated which was also a big turn off.

After reading about all of the issues and drawbacks with those monitors, I decided to give Viewsonic a shot. I'm sure glad I did! It truly is a great monitor, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a nice, high resolution, and accurate monitor out of the box.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Monitor, Open Box

Pros: - Insanely Bright
- Everything appears super crisp
- Text looks amazing (go through cleartype setup, it makes a difference)
- An input for all kinds of setups
- Plenty of USB
- OSD is that of Viewsonic's monitors: easy to understand and non-intrusive
- It pivots, great for reading, writing (though I prefer landscape for side-by-side)
- Brilliant color
- Got it for $640, open box--no dead pixels or anything!

Cons: The price I suppose. I paid significantly less than MSRP, while I really love what I got, I'd have a hard time parting with this for it's suggested price (though, admittedly, I'd have a hard time parting with the monitor if I were asked to fork up the extra $200 right now!)

Other than that, I'm very impressed with this monitor, as I have been with all viewsonic monitors I've owned in the past.

Other Thoughts: Another great Viewsonic monitor

1 out of 5 eggsDefective screen - higher intensity blotches

Pros: Beautiful in physical appearance. Functioning areas of screen very nice

Cons: Two pencil araser size areas of screen that shows as higher intensity unless background is pure black. Shows up even as higher intensity with a white background. Contacted ViewSonic and they said it is a manufacturing defect. For an $800 screen someone should have actually looked before sending it - these defects were immediately obvious. Sending back to Newegg for replacement. Will update review after I get the replacement

4 out of 5 eggssecond one is fantastic

Pros: Like looking through a windshield - huge vivid, crisp
Definitely worth it for professional design work. Huge change from my 10 year old VP201m

Cons: the first one came out of the box with the left half the screen out. I had to RMA- cost me 33 bucks to ship it back and it took a couple of weeks to get the replacement. Not happy about that. Viewsonic support was easy to get on the phone and they offered to replace it but for some reason i decided to RMA it back to NewEgg.
I have gotten a lot of stuff from NewEgg over the years, Always been really happy, though now,for larger items i may look at local retailers before ordering.

Other Thoughts: I've always been happy with viewsonic monitors.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed also (updated)

Pros: Great Color

Cons: Had an issue like the other reviewers posted of these two random pencil eraser marks on the screen. I originally gave this product 3 stars but now I changed it to 1.

Viewsonic customer support is absolutely the worst. They are extremely rude. I called and spoke with 6 different people since they never returned my calls and promised. Had me take a dozen photos and yet they still don't admit fault and won't issue a replacement. They are escalating.

Im thinking of just paying the restocking fee and returning this monitor. Absolutely the worst I will never buy viewsonic again after dealing with this awful customer service.

3 out of 5 eggsDisappointed also

Pros: Great color, low power consumption, stays cool, stable stand with wide range of adjustment.

Cons: I will quote the other reviewer because mine had the same exact issue. Even the same location. Seems like a manufacturing defect

"Has two bright spots in the backlight each about the size of a pencil eraser, about four inches diagonally from the lower left corner, and the other about 6 inches straight above that. They're more apparent on light backgrounds, and adjusting the monitor brightness doesn't help. "

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Beautiful screen. The monitor works perfectly and even has a mini audio-out jack, so you can pipe sound through the DisplayPort/HDMI plug and into a stereo. Fantastic.

When I plugged it in, the text was really jagged. It turns out, you can tweak the sharpness and now it's great. You can also tune lots of other things: Even the response time, and it appears to have a gaming friendly mode. Nifty.

I had to return the ASUS PB278Q due to it's crazy DisplayPort issue, which stopped me from using it with a Mac. I actually liked the ASUS screen a tiny bit more, to be honest.

Cons: Expensive, obviously. I wish the sharpness setting went in smaller increments than 25. The text is ever-so-slightly more jagged than I'd prefer, but my eyes have already stopped noticing it. I think I only noticed it because the initial factory setting was too high.
