1 out of 5 eggs! Month past 3 year warranty

Pros: It was a beautiful monitor while it worked. Just under 800 bucks 3 years, 1 month ago. I can see why it came down in price.

Cons: Big, beautiful and broken.

Other Thoughts: I wanted "the best" I could buy at the time. I could have gotten something more reasonable at the time. My 5 years old Samsung is still going. Hmm....

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect size/resolution combo

Pros: DVI and Dlink
Factory color cal.
10-bit if you want it.
Quality is good.
Perfect size/resolution combination.
Price for this 10-bit PLS panel right now is unbeatable.

Cons: Now my wife will want one!
One dark pixel across two monitors, but you have to squint to see it - it looks like a spec of dust.

Other Thoughts: I finally replaced my aging CCFL IPS LCDs with a pair of these and I wish now I'd done that sooner. The picture excellent.
The color is really breathtaking - try watching some 4k youtube videos.

4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful picture

Pros: Gorgeous screen, had 6 dead pixels and an odd waver in the perimeter of the screen. NewEgg replaced it fairly quickly although it would've been nice to get the replacement before sending the faulty unit back. Viewsonic was also great on the phone and told us to send it back as well as it wasn't up to their high standards.

Cons: Had to return the first unit...the 2nd seems OK now.

Other Thoughts: This monitor is pre-calibrated, although we've not yet developed photos from it yet, the on screen colors are brilliant and detailed. It is pre-calibrated to Adobe colors, which should be excellent considering we're editing photography in Photoshop with this monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: Great picture
27 inches
Probably the best, but most certainly one of the best IPS (PLS) gaming monitors at 1440p.
V-stand is great if you put it in corner of your desk like I do.
OSD works great for me.
No dead pixels, uniform backlight, no bleed through on my monitor.
No flicker, easy on the eyes
Pre-calibrated from the factory.

Cons: Makes my 24 inch TN panel next to it look like junk color wise.
I use the TN for CSGO and consoles, but the IPS has finally replaced it.
Have to use V-sync because screen tear is so bad.
Limiting the FPS cap won't do the trick, there will be horrible screen tear across the middle.

Other Thoughts: I've been using this monitor for a few months. Bought it for when I got my PC together and used it with my mac. Now that my PC is built, I enjoy using it. Had horrible screen tear and avoided using it, but recently found v-sync solves the problem. FPS games are still playable, but I still play CSGO on my Benq 1080p xl2420z because I enjoy the motion blue reduction on that monitor. Everything else, (BF4, and any other games) I'm playing on this one. Desktop real estate is great. Just a fantastic looking monitor!

4 out of 5 eggsA very good all-rounder: You get what you pay for

Pros: This is a very exceptional monitor. The colors are fantastic, the PLS glow is minimal, and pixel reponse times can be adjusted to a very reasonable level for what results in far less motion blur than other IPS/PLS/AHVA/etc monitors on the market right now. All monitors tend to have pros and cons (the elusive "perfect" monitor doesn't seem to exist right now), but this one particular seems to sacrifice little and balance everything out quite nicely.

-If you like to play games on your computer, this monitor will be suitable for all but the fastest of games. Provided your goal isn't to play Counter Strike at 120hz, you should be very pleased with your gaming results. Input lag is not only low, but is in fact one of the lowest input lags of all 1440p IPS-based panels on the market right now.
-If you love rich, vibrant colors (within the realm of what LCD technology can produce, and ignoring OLED), you will not be disappointed.
~And speaking of that, the black levels on this panel are very good.
-This monitor comes precalibrated from the factory, and it shows. Color quality is high right out of the box. You get your own little report sheet on it, too.
-This monitor utilizes DVC (direct voltage control) to regulate the backlight. This is very important, because it means this monitor DOES NOT use PWM. If you don't know what that is or what it means for you, PWM controls brightness by flickering the screen. By not using PWM, you won't have flicker, and therefore you'll be saving yourself a lot of potential eyestrain and headaches. MAJOR plus for this monitor.
-Very well constructed. Also, it has a unique stand design.
-No real backlight bleed worth speaking of.

Cons: -In my personal experience, this monitor graphically glitches up from time to time when switching users in Windows 7. Not sure why.
-Dark corners and edges. My panel's bottom right corner (one inch diagonally) is a fair bit darker than the rest of the panel, especially when viewing light-colored content such as all-white webpages.
-My panel came with a discolored blotch or two. Not acceptable. RMA'd it and will be awaiting a replacement.

Other Thoughts: Price is not a con here. The VP2770 is pretty well priced in comparison to similar monitors avaliable from Newegg right now. Yes, it does carry a -bit- of a premium, but it doesn't feel like that money is being wasted. You're getting some very welcome benefits for that extra cash: Most notably, a PWM free backlight. And thats a serious, serious deal. Never buy monitors with PWM (such as the ASUS PB278Q). Seriously. Don't.

5 out of 5 eggsBest monitor I've ever owned

Pros: Amazing color quality. As a professional CG artist, I needed to make sure that this project was spot on for colors. I had no idea how much my other monitors colors were off.

No dead pixels and is absolutely flawless.

Cons: The base is a little large and sticks out a bit in the front, but nothing major.

Other Thoughts: I was very tempted to purchase the ASUS PB278Q, but ultimately I've been extremely happy with my VieweSonic monitors over the years.

For a 27", this is the perfect screen resolution. I've worked on 30" 1600p monitors and I just won't be buying that big until the 4K prices come down.

5 out of 5 eggsGorgeous Monitor

Pros: Researched 27" Monitors a good deal. Saw the reviews on the VP-2770 and after much thought pulled the trigger.

The light bleed on black is so minimal I can't consider it an issue at all. Lowered the Brightness to 42 as suggested on Tom's Hardware and set sharpness to 0.

Then checked for dead pixels........none,nada,nopa,nyet!!

Colors are precise very pleased.
The stand and general theme is industrial suits me fine.

Now to zero in on a new graphics card.

Cons: Exspensive

5 out of 5 eggsUse for Lightroom and Photoshop! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

Pros: I had standard monitors( 2x 24" acer x223w 1680x1050) for working with Photoshop and Lightroom. I would finish editing and then put it up on the iMac and have horrible results because the monitor of the iMac is way better in video quality. There are no artifacts, bleed through, or blemishes on the View Sonic LED screen anywhere. A better Picture than my 50" 1080p big screen TV! I will be investing for another at some point. Right now I do the editing on the 27" and use the 24" for sorting images.

Cons: A bit pricey but worth it

Other Thoughts: Make sure your video card can handle 2560x1400 before you buy this or you will be stuck with the default resolution setting of your current video card. I have a GTX570, card is a couple years old but does the job well!

Also I do game a little and simply put: all games are amazing in detail!

1 out of 5 eggsPoor QA

Pros: IF you find a flawless panel the colors are impressive. Makes for a good work station monitor.

PLS with no PWM is a nice perk if PWM flickering bothers you.

Nice amounts of ports for connections and USB ports for connecting accessories and thumb drives.

Cons: Major back light bleed with two dead pixels.

Gaming - response time was not any better than the PB278Q I have now. Testing techniques in review sites are more than questionable. One site put input lag lower and all the others has it over 28.0ms. I found it felt no difference between it and PB278Q during game play.

Gaming doesn't have over shoot but in advanced preset for fastest input I get motion blur with 12ms GTG more than my PB278Q.

Over priced with comparable to gaming like PB278Q or U2713HM and workstation monitors like U2713HM also with no PWM flicker that sell for $200 less. Come down on price and be comparable as well.

Your either going to love or hate the stand. The V shaped feet take up a lot more space on my desk top as opposed to other circular or square stands where even the top space can be utilized. I personally don't like placing things in between the V, I begin to focus on those items in front of the panel. So for me it's dead desk top space between that.

The monitor could have used some sort of cable management that works. I've got wires hanging down visible.

Very poor QA and customer service.

Other Thoughts: I purchased mine directly from retailer. Returned and requested refund. Was glad to take the restocking fee. Since I'm a regular Newegg customer wanted to share.

IPS glow normal to high but expected as with any IPS monitor.

Until this monitor comes down to the $699 range it's over priced.
