Pros: Beautiful screen, narrow bezel, no dead pixels. While I prefer glossy screens (like a MacBook Pro), this matte-finish screen is sharp and I may be a convert. :D

Works fine with Mac mini and in extended desktop mode with a MacBook Pro.

Cons: Hidden "buttons" below and behind the screen in order to modify the settings. No tactile feedback; you need to squat down with a flashlight in order to see what you're doing. Whoever designed this should be fired and banned from any work involving user interface. However, I'd still buy this again as, once you get the settings right, you can simply ignore the settings panel.

Pros: Looks great, works great. No issues yet.

Cons: Weird button placement.
Speakers leave much to be desired, but what can you expect from a monitor.

Pros: - IPS at this price point, it does look good at extreme angles and the colors really are bright and accurate. I haven't done any photoshop work to test it but I'd believe it is 100% sRGB without any calibration. Coming from a CFL TFT display this is a night and day difference.

-Gaming does pretty well on this monitor; Bioshock infinite, Minecraft, Borderlands 2, the colors pop, no visible ghosting. Although it's not 120hz smooth, it does look good for gaming. My graphics card I limit with v-sync anyway.

-I like the design of the stand, yeah the buttons are awkward but usable. The frameless design looks good and its sleek and thin.

Cons: -the antiglare coating isn't bad compared to other matte screens, but it looks like they put on the anti-glare like a sticker. I can't peel it off. solid colors are noticeably noisy (like scattering light from a anti-glare screen protector) but really any matte screen will have this, the pixel density and LED brightness just make it more noticeable. I guess it's better than a really glossy screen.

-the ports are tucked away in the stand so big bulky connectors are difficult to plug in.

Nothing too bad to loose an egg.

Other Thoughts: There's a comparable Dell IPS monitor with 5 eggs that's more expensive but has a better stand.

1080p, very sharp text and images. I'm very impressed for the sale price. if it was full price I'd probably buy the Dell.

Not sure about the matte anti-glare coating but I can get use to it, the rest of the monitor and images looks amazing.

If you are looking for an entry level IPS this is the monitor to buy.

Pros: Price. Display looks nice.

Cons: This monitor is as fragile as an egg. I realize its bevel is designed to be thin, but the construction is flimsy, the plastic of a very thin grade around the LED. It seems they should have made the edges with much thicker grade plastic, especially if the bevel was made to be thin. I'm returning the two I got for a dual monitor setup because I will otherwise have two short-lived monitors on my hands.

Pros: The screen is beautiful, great color and great looking. the frameless design just overall looks classy. Mine arrived with no dead pixels. the stand is perfect and very supportive while also not being bulky.

Cons: no cons at all

Other Thoughts: if your looking for a great low price monitor then this is definitely it. I got this when it was on a better sale here on newegg but would have gladly payed 169.00 today.

Pros: Very clear picture, as much as you could want from a 23 inch monitor. Has D-SUB, DVI, HDMI. Very bright. Came with a nice HDMI and D-SUB cable.

Cons: Got two monitors, one developed a defected after about 20 minutes of use. The defect looks like a hair on the right side of the screen, but is actually some kind of dead pixel defect. RMA'd it of course. Also, the monitor does not come with a DVI cable, but you should know that from the specs.

Other Thoughts: I have never seen a defect like this. It appears to be a scratch or hair, but when the monitor is off, and examined with a magnifying glass, it is perfect. Very frustrating defect.

Pros: Crystal clear image, the base was easily attachable (no screw driver required), easy set up, came with an HDMI cable and VGA =) I'm extremely satisfied!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this monitor to anyone whos looking to upgrade, hard to beat at this price.

Pros: Size is excellent along with the IPS* (PLS) panel. Monitor arrived in perfect condition with no bad pixels and the color is excellent. HDMI and VGA cables were provided as well.

Cons: *While not really a 'con', ViewSonic lists this as an "IPS" panel when in reality it is a PLS panel. Here is what is said on a tech site:
"ViewSonic for some reason list the panel being used as 'SuperClear IPS' and the term IPS is used in the spec lists as well. However, in reality you will see from the service menu that the screen is actually using a Samsxxx PLS panel. In reality, PLS and IPS offer very similar performance characteristics and seem to be two terms being interchanged by several manufacturers at the moment. It seems the market is starting to interchange the terms, making it a little tricky to actually identify the real panel technology being used. It is Samsxxx who manufacturer PLS panels as a rival to the popular IPS panels, made mostly by Lx Dispxxx, so don't be confused by the listed spec and talk of IPS in the marketing material. We clarified with ViewSonic that the term IPS was being used here since it is more well-known and understood in the market."

Other Thoughts: I spent some time trying to get the colors set correctly. Realizing that my TN laptop display was horrible for photo editing, I selected this monitor for the cost effective IPS panel. I was hoping that the sRGB setting to work for me, however, I found the sRGB mode to be WAY too dark. When you select the sRGB mode, it disables contrast and brightness options and leaves you with a very dingy display. I then discovered that the 'Native' mode is actually closer to the 6500k white-point than the sRGB setting. I ended up going with 50% brightness and 70% contrast and found it works well with all the on-screen calibration tests. At some point in the near future I plan to get a hardware calibration system, but until then, this setting will work for me.

As I have been using this as an external display through my laptop, I have discovered that my laptop's graphics card is way underpowered. I was multitasking when the monitor started to flicker badly; at first I thought it was an issue with the monitor, but then discovered that many laptops don't have the graphics capability to run large displays while under stress. I rebooted my computer and everything has been fine as long as I don't multitask as intensely. I am now in the process of designing a desktop computer so as to provide a stable working environment.

Pros: Extremely bright and beautiful, accurate colors. I had to turn down the brightness to about 70%. Color replication is excellent. Used mainly for Photoshop/Graphic art, but with 7ms response time, even games like Starcraft II and Diablo III look gorgeous. Great price for an IPS panel as well.

Cons: Controls are in an awkward spot underneath the display and about 4 inches behind the screen on the stand necessitating having to duck down to see the controls on most desks. This also means that the stand cannot be removed and therefore there are no mounting holes on the back. This monitor cannot be mounted on anything. It must rest on the stand on your desk.

Pros: I love the frameless design and it's the perfect size. exactly what I was looking for.

Cons: Line down the middle and far left of the screen, extremely visible with a dark background. Very disappointing. This just delays my work schedule more; being that I have to return this monitor and prey I get one that's not defective.

I'm sure just taking an extra 10min to check the monitors, before shipping them out, would make us ( the CUSTOMERS, who give them our MONEY )a lot happier. That point is to have repeat customers, right?
