4 out of 5 eggsNOT VESA COMPATABLE, At all.

Pros: Lovely image quality. The almost non-existent frame is very attractive. Light, thin.

Cons: No VESA mounting threads for aftermarket mult-monitor mounts or wall mount. I didn't think any monitor these days would not have them, so I did not check. The monitor is permanently mounted to a pedestal that has the OSD (On-Screen Display) buttons and USB/Video/Audio connectors, so cables/wire pass through it. Don't think it would be easy modify for such use.

Other Thoughts: I hope the things last longer than the other reviewers have stated. I bought Viewsonic since my experiences have always been positive even when they were making CRT monitors. I hope my trust is not misplaced.

2 out of 5 eggsdoesn't last long

Pros: + good colors
+ no ghosting

Cons: - horrible built in speakers
- 1 year and 8 months later screen is having issues. half
of the screen is tinted purple and not refreshing
properly.

Other Thoughts: I checked monitor with multiple cables and different inputs, but tint and flickering was still present. I also checked the video card with another monitored and was working without any issues.

1 out of 5 eggsVIewsonic limited 3-year warranty

Pros: The monitor worked well for app. 2 years.

Cons: 3-year limited warranty conditions are not fully dis-closed by Viewsonic. You do not get the advance replacement after the 1-st year. All costs back to ViewSonic (shipping, packaging, etc.) are on you. The customer service reps are not empowered, and their management could not care less.
We could not even purchase the advance replacement and then get reimbursed upon their receipt of the defective monitor.

Other Thoughts: It appears that VIewSonic forgets that the monitors should not have defects in the 1-st place.
Substandard service.
Certainly will not get our business ever again, and we have quite a few customers.

4 out of 5 eggsNice picture!

Pros: Good size, sturdy base, amazing picture quality.

Cons: The OSD is a bit difficult to navigate. Speakers are kind of wimpy and really don't sound all that good. Could be my machine, but when running graphics intensive applications the speakers produce a whining sound that goes away when I unplug the audio cable.

Other Thoughts: Add in a more intuitive OSD and some better speakers and this monitor would be a real winner! :D

1 out of 5 eggsRA Process Update

Pros: Nice screen

Cons: Does not last more than about a year and Viewsonic service seems to have lost it's pickle.

Other Thoughts: RA update. Received back my second RA monitor in about a year. Took about a month for the turn around. Not bad considering it was just after the Xmas holidays.

They sent me the monitor. Just the monitor, sans power cord and power supply. Called Viewsonic support and they seemed stumped (yes you actually need to plug the monitor in to make it work). Finally they ordered me the power cable and power supply. Had to wait a week before the cables got to me.

But.... All they shipped was the power supply, and it was taped to the inside of a box and now has sticky tape residue on it. I can live with that. The problem is there was no power cable. You know the part that plugs into the wall. Just the power supply and it has a proprietary plug for the cable.

Called Viewsonic back, again. Again they seemed stumped (yes yes, you actually do need both the power supply and power cable). Now they have to escalate this "issue" to a higher support level. That will take from 2-5 days. Then I'll need to wait for them to ship me a cable. Another week. So about 3 weeks to just get the power cables I need to actually plug in the monitor they sent me as an RA.

A total of 2 months without my monitor, this is really effecting my work output and costing me time and aggravation.

Seriously this isn't worth it. Next time I buy a Dell or a Samsung or a NEC and just spend the $30 difference in cost. I've spent and lost more than that just in the RA process on 2 monitors in 1 year.

p.s. After all this I don't even know yet if the monitor they sent me even works! I hope to [fill in your favorite deity] it isn't bad also.

1 out of 5 eggs14 month update, naaaa not so good

Pros: Great price and very good color. Really good for the price. 3 year warranty, thank [fill in your favorite deity].

Cons: Bought 2, both died within 14 months. Thy just don't last.

Other Thoughts: Bought one and loved it so much I bought a second one. At about 13 months the first one died, totally dead. At 14 months the second one dies, left side of the screen went pink. Each RA took about a month. Just received the second RA today, without power supply. Now I have to wait another 1-2 weeks for a replacement power supply. Spent about $60 shipping both monitors back and lost 2 months productivity. Not worth it. Spend a bit more and get a Dell, Samsung or NEC. They seem to last.

Just can no longer recommend this monitor and debating on ever buying a Vewsonic again.

3 out of 5 eggsLooks good, but only two years

Pros: This monitor has a sturdy stand because it so large, and the screen itself looks great in a matte finish with no protruding bezels.

Cons: Started showing a right-edged aberration just 21 months after purchase, the right-side became blue-green with lines.

Other Thoughts: Good looking, and for 21 months, it was.

1 out of 5 eggs18 months of life

Pros: It was pretty while it worked.
Integrated Speakers saves space

Cons: Horrible controls
Shorter than expected lifespan

Other Thoughts: I recieved this monitor from NewEgg on 6/23/13 and instead of the Pink Hue everyone else is getting, I am getting a blue hue with scan lines on the left side of the screen. I started getting this issue last month hoping I could get it resolved with new drivers or changing the monitor settings. This monitor was on the PC Gamer reviews so that was why I bought it. Viewsonic is an old brand that normally has a fairly good reputation. I am slightly astounded at how consistent the failure report is on this monitor with the left side failing. My error occasionally fixes like there is some kind loose connection or something. I wouldn't by this again since this seems to be an issue with this monitor. I wish I knew what part is failing in 18 months. For comparison, my old 8 year dell LCD monitor is still working next to it. I haven't contacted Viewsonic yet. If shipping costs are high, I may just purchase a new monitor.

2 out of 5 eggsLasted 20 Months

Pros: Thin, crisp image, good response time while it lasted.

Cons: Today, almost 21 months after purchase, the left side of the screen became pink and pixellated, with visible refresh lines.

I agree with the review by Joseph M., and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Other Thoughts: Never used the speakers.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent except for controls

Pros: Beautiful display with good colour and brightness consistency.
It has VGA, DVI and HDMI, plus audio.
Built-in speakers are OK for very basic sounds, not for music, obviously.

Cons: 1 bad thing: The controls are in an amazingly bad spot. Who thought it would be a good idea to hide them on the base, behind the panel? I pretty much have to put my head on the desk to be able to see the controls. They are touch controls, which is sort of cool, but you cannot use them by feel because you don't know where they are.
Thankfully, once you set it the way you look you never have to touch those controls again.

Other Thoughts: Excellent screen, only let down by OSD control location.
