5 out of 5 eggs1080p DLP projector

Pros: Good price, got it onsale and i'm very pleased
Friend of mine used it with his PS4 and is now selling his 65 inch tv for one of these (says ALOT)
i've done 100 inch on a wall and it looked great even with the lights on in the room
built in speaker gives you sound for HDMI but a sound bar or external speaker system is a better choice

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Cant go wrong for the money
its a keeper in my book

5 out of 5 eggsCeiling projection

Pros: I attached this to the wall behind my bed's headboard and project it on the ceiling. It allows me to watch TV without the strenuous work of sitting on a couch or sitting up in bed. It works well for this purpose, especially since I only watch it at night, so ambient light is not an issue.

Cons: There are no cons that I can think of. The speaker is certainly not designed to give a theatrical experience, so you will want to have external amp/speakers if you want to watch lots of media. The built in speaker is usable, however.

Other Thoughts: I just plugged a Roku 3 into it and can stream all kinds video.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for office

Pros: The screen is bright and easily visible in a brightly lit room. We were projecting on a beige painted wall for a few months and it was fine; finally installed the proper dimensioned screen (100" 16:9) and it's just as clear. Many adjustments to correct for vagaries of position and mounting. Many different input options, and even has some little speakers.

Cons: I suppose it is not the sleekest looking box, but this is a business and we don't care. It is now hung from the ceiling so no one looks at it much anyhow.

Other Thoughts: So the manager's boss was all about us buying a big 80" plus flat screen, but I doubt we could touch one for what we have invested in this projector. We do NOT use it for viewing movies or broadcast TV. We use it for group viewing of software programs that essentially are displaying big spreadsheets, as well as the everyday PowerPoint. We have recently ordered another.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic.

Pros: This projector has been an exceptional and fantastic piece of equipment. I did a lot of research before buying it, and have to say I'm very glad I did. It is exceptional in every way at this price point. easily outperforms projectors at 3 or 4 times its price. The color is great and brightness is fantastic. It has crisp, clear 1080 picture, the colortone is correct and on point. No over-yellow and does surprisingly well on cooler colors too. I have it ceiling mounted and displayed at 135" on a +1 contrast screen in our living room instead of a traditional tv. Best decision I've ever made. With the ambient light in our house with just the curtains closed it perfoms exceedingly well with a few lights on and all. For the price you can't buy a better projector. 3D works well but it is still DLP so I wouldnt want to side by side my projector with a laser one. The fan isn't silent, but its not loud enough to notice even with the volume low enough to let my son nap. Overall, a wise buy. It really comes alive playing 60fps games.

Cons: While I am in love with this projector, realistically it does have some shortcomings. Input switching does take a second or too but it's not something that has bothered me even slightly. If you are using this in a corporate situation it'd more of a let down. The internal speaker is next to worthless. But if you are using the internal speaker you may need to rethink your projection setup :P My greatest problems with it would have to be that the case is very light and not super solid. Ours is mounted permanently so it's a non issue for us, but this wouldn't be an ideal choice for mobile presentations and doesn't feel like it'd hold up well on the road. The shiny black, while aesthetically pleasing, will scratch very easy.

Other Thoughts: I would in a heartbeat recommend this projector to anyone using it for a permanent setup, such as tv replacement (such as ours) or a theater room, even an outdoor movie deal (if you take care of it). I would not recommend this for travelling mobile presentations, especially if sound through the projector is required. It is fragile, pretty, and far from physically durable. We've had ours for a 1.5 years so far and have nothing but fantastic things to say, and always impresses our guests. It also saves money because its surprisingly good on power, and we don't pay for pay-per-view sporting events as our friends are more than happy to buy them to watch them at our house. :)

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: Bought this projector 2 years ago when it was $700 and its awesome. day in day out. use it as my main liiving room tv. for hours every day and the bulb still hasnt died. grreat picture quality with directv hd. dont care for 3d.

Cons: Bulbs are a bit pricey. $72 just the bulb. no housing. compared to my 60" mitsubishi dlp which was only $17 with the housing.

3 out of 5 eggsdecent for a small room

Pros: Has a good crisp image with good contrast.

Cons: It is a rather short throw, so it wouldn't work for my new home. The fan that is in it is exceptionally loud, would require the sound at rather high volumes to cover it up.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat projector

Pros: Great price, easy to install and connect to computer, super bright, light and cool design.

Cons: none. it's perfect.

Other Thoughts: Is there any one got the free 100" projector screen? I ordered projector on Feb 6th and haven't got it now.
Anyway, a great projector, it's awesome and perfect in my conference room.

5 out of 5 eggs110" of Glory!

Pros: This thing is everything i wanted in a projector for the ~600$ range. It is very bright even on the ECO setting. Works well during the day or with very bright ambient light. I even shined a blindingly bright halogen desk lamp at the image(at ~100" sizing) and it was barely noticeable.

The throw is a tight range but good enough for my setup.

I am displaying on an orange peel textured beige wall, and neither has significant impact, there are numerous scuffs and holes in the wall which are not visible unless a mostly white image is displayed.
(i will be building a custom screen frame once i really fine tune and decide the sizing i want)

I have NOT tested the 3D yet, i will be doing that with 3Dvision soon, but if my mitsubishi 73" DLP history is any indicator, it will take a lot of tweaking to get it running proper.

Cons: The menu is satisfactory but could be arranged a little more intuitively (nitpicking).

More HDMI ports (i bought a 3x1 switch to compensate)

there is a simple 10-20$ fix ( im being generous here ViewSonic) that should be implemented:

There is ONE thumbscrew for adjustment, it is front center. THATS it.... it works fine for meetings and quick and dirty setup.

However, for a home theater arrangement it would be very helpful to have rear adjustable feet and also to have the same setup on the other side of the unit, i cannot mount the unit to my ceiling (apartment and all) so i flipped it upside down on a book case, and wedged a dvd case to produce proper elevation, if the rear adjustable feet were available i could have probably left it in the normal upright configuration.

This is not a dealbreaker, just a simple silly fix. 800$ technology brought down a peg by a 2$ plastic screw..... just silly

Other Thoughts: I still give this a 5 as none of the cons actually diminish the viewing experience, mostly they are setup issues or just components of the design that are not optimal.

The speakers are fine for down and dirty sound, but i imagine most people will have a 5.1 or better setup if they are purchasing this unit. It will get the job done without making your eardrums cry.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing quality for the price

Pros: This projector is excellent for the price. I work for Dish and work with alot of home theater systems, this projector is just as good as some of the $2000 projectors I've seen. Way better quaility than any rear projector tv I've seen. I've got mine projector onto a 120" screen and I only need it 12' away.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The only drawback that I have with this projector (though it may be the fact I have it so large) is that while watching movies if I change my focus from one end of the screen to the other you can see a RGB blur out of the corner of your eye. Not too bad though you get used to it.
