5 out of 5 eggsGood Buy

Pros: Outstanding screen clarity. I bought this in mid-June 2015 for $157. It was a good buy then and should be a better buy today. Also has anti-glare coating.

Cons: Does not have an adjustable stand. Not a real con at this price point.

3 out of 5 eggsBetter than tn, far from perfect

Pros: The colors are very bright and saturated
IPS display so the viewing angles are decent
Managed to hit 66hz overclock (not sure if that's really a pro or a con but it allows me to no longer experience screen tearing capping my fps at 60 now rather than using v-sync)
Light and easy to move around, pretty thin.
Good for gamers who want a budget 1080p monitor who aren't into hardcore gaming and would sacrifice a tiny amount of input lag for much better colors.

Cons: The backlight bleed in my personal opinion is atrocious on the display I recieved. The blacks look black, unless you are playing a fullscreen window that has alot of dark scenes there's a ton of backlight bleed. Even with 0% brightness the issue hardly gets improved. The viewing angles are definately not a true 178 degrees as the bigger angle u view on, the worse the backlight bleed gets. Grand theft auto V at night time doesn't look good at all imo due to the dark scenes looking white and blackish at the same time from the LED's. I noticed 6 dead pixels on my display when I did the test the very first time I powered the monitor on, if I was serious about getting the "perfect" display this thing would be being replaced in no time but personally I don't game enough to care so I'll save myself the hassle. People say viewsonic is a good make, but my first experience with them is not impressive considering I bought this to replace a 27" 1080p tn, which gets beat by this monitor in every way, until a dark scene comes on and the led lights bleed through all over the screen. If you were wondering, the bleed occurs the worst in the bottom right corner, but it's noticable in every corner and the very top of the display.

5 out of 5 eggsMonitor Is Awesome

Pros: I got this monitor when I built my first computer and it was a great purchase. I have had no problems with it so far. It is nice and wide and great resolution. Good price. 10/10 would buy again.

Cons: As someone mentioned before, it does not come with a DVI cable and so it needs to be purchased separately. Not a big con. Just purchase on on new egg for a few bucks.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice monitor (4.5/5 Eggs)

Pros: This screen is beautiful. Running games at 1080p and it's just gorgeous. Viewsonic lives up to their name.

I got it on special for around $130, and no regrets.

Cons: No HDMI connection; also only comes with VGA cable, so either way, you'll probably have to buy a cable or adapter separately.

The stand feels a little cheap and wobbly, but it does the job.

Other Thoughts: This is a 5-Egg monitor, if only it had HDMI. If you find it on special, grab it(grab a couple!). You won't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor, especially for the price

Pros: Price (especially on sale), finish (non-gloss), colors look rich, blacks look black, no bleed through, light weight.

Cons: Hard to think of any real cons, as the monitor really does look great. If I had to nitpick it would be the stand is kinda cheap, and doesn't ship with a dvi cable.

Other Thoughts: It's a Viewsonic. I'm a bit of a "fan boy" when it comes to their monitors, but I love this screen. I've read a lot of complaints about their pixel policy, but I didn't hesitate to click the purchase button when I saw this on sale. As stated- it's a Viewsonic. They make quality monitors that aren't going to give you any problems. I like this one so much I'm eventually going to pick up a second. My other monitor is also a Viewsonic, it's 10 years old. In all that time it has never given me a problem, until recently when it will randomly lose its signal for a second (probably a bad capacitor). In those 10 years I have used that monitor every day for my computer and xbox 360. I wouldn't go to any other company when buying a new computer monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Cheap

Pros: This is the best low cost larger monitor I have found. It has not given me any problems and has good image quality. IT probably isn't the best in the world, but does just fine for me.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsViewSonic

Pros: I bought this for a dedicated gaming computer. Works really well for gaming. I like playing Battlefield 3 and 4, which takes a lot of processing. Great color, detail, transparency and dimension. Seems pretty wide.

Cons: I don't have three.

Other Thoughts: It tilts but doesn't go up and down. So, I set it on an old cassette deck I like. I knew it would come in handy again. Looks strange like that. I'm using it with an Intel i7 3770k, Asus P8 77 v-lk Motherboard, Nvidia GeForce gtx970sc, GSkill Rip Jaws DDR3 2400 PC3 19200 16gb ram, Windows 7- 64, Corsair H100i watercooler, XFX xtr 750watt psu

5 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: A bright big image with (to my eye) good color. I have yet to calibrate this monitor, so I can't speak to color accuracy, but given the low price, I don't expect perfection.

Downward facing ports.

I noted many other IPS panel monitors in this price range have input ports that face straight back. While these make for an easier installation, I feel they are also more prone to damage.

Internal power supply

No external power brick to worry about. Some might consider this a con, seeing as an external brick could be more easily replaced, and lowers the internal heat load, but in my past experience with monitors, this hasn't been a significant issue.

Input select switch

For those that wish to use this monitor with two different systems, the [2] switch toggles between the DVI and VGA inputs.

Anti-glare screen

If you appreciate screens that don't double as a mirror, rejoice.

VESA mount points

This is another item that isn't present on many other IPS panel monitors in this price range.

Cons: No DVI cable included.

This will mean an extra purchase for those looking for the best quality that don't already have a DVI cable laying around. (A VGA cable is included).

No HDMI input.

Since the unit has no internal speakers, this is a minor point that can be overcome with a HDMI-DVI cable, but far fewer people are likely to have one of these on hand than a standard HDMI cable.

Glossy bezel

If you're not a big fan of fingerprint magnets, this is negative.

Other Thoughts: This is a very preliminary review that I am quickly posting after receipt of the monitor, due to there being no other reviews at the time this review was submitted.
