5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Best compliment for a 13" laptop on the road. Low power usage even though powered off usb. Seamless video playback, the cover is a nice touch.

Cons: I wish the stand was extendable, but other then that, no complaints.

Other Thoughts: I would easily recommend this to anyone, and should something happen to this one, i would buy another.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good overall, but it buzzes

Pros: It's a DisplayLink device, so you can run it on both Windows and Mac, and the drivers/firmware are updated frequently and made available at

Performance on Windows 7 was surprisingly good. I was able to play a 1080p video in VLC full-screen with no lagging/frame dropping.

On every system I have used it on, the display worked fine being powered by just one USB port, so the included "Y" cable was unnecessary, reducing clutter and freeing ports.

Display is very bright and clear. Comparable to the quality you would expect from a 14" ThinkPad display.

Cons: Performance on Mac is not as good as on Windows; on the Mac, it is fine for office productivity/web browsing/text, but video is fairly laggy to the point of being unpleasant to watch.

Included plastic stand does the job, but feels flimsy for a $200 product.

Display makes a high-pitched buzzing noise at any brightness level other than max (which is blindingly bright). People over 30 probably won't hear it, but it annoys me. I'm pretty picky about buzzing electronics, most people won't be bothered by this. -1 Egg.
