supershayne 7/29/2012 2:07:42 PM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 5/5	Rating: 5/5definitely a worthy contestant Pros: I have this monitor for more than a year and I'm quite satisfied with this model. This is my first AOC and honestly, was somewhat skeptical about what I could expect from this panel. But this one proved to be a very good performer for the price. The monitor is very bright and crisp but the brightness is not to level of being irritating as I find in some newer LEDs. The colors are just about right for my taste, not too saturated and by no means dull. I set it to the neutral (?) color scheme in the menu to produce faithful colors but can change the profile anytime to sRGB or warm/cool tones. Viewing angle is nothing spectacular given the fact that it's a TN panel but still, the colors look fairly well from odd viewing angles which was a nice surprise to me. I've seen much worse in higher priced TN monitors. This one also has USB but never bothered about that. I'm using this monitor for gaming/modding and image viewing/editing (non pro) and I'm content with what I see! Cons: Nothing major but still there are some flaws and the back-light bleeding is one of them. While not terrible, it rares its ugly head more often than I'd like. There is also a good deal of uneven back-light distribution which is prominent when looked at from the sides. My brother has an AOC 2236VW and that one is also prone to these issues! But since these symptoms are generic to entry-level LCDs I can't blame AOC much. The lack of HDMI doesn't bother me either as I use DVI for display and have no complain there. This panel is not as thin as the some LED ones but that's understandable. Other Thoughts: As I mentioned earlier, this monitor isn't going to win any contest for visual excellence but this is not what you're looking for in this price segment to begin with. For performance and reliability I can't complain and those what matter me most. I run this monitor in a gaming rig with an i7 920 CPU and MSI 6870 Radeon and it has complemented the rest of the system nicely thus far.
