5 out of 5 eggsWould Buy Again

Pros: Alright, the pros with this monitor
Fast screen
Lets you control ALL COLORS, this is why people have complained about it looking washed out, it is not. You just need to look deeper into your settings and put it at your preference.
It comes with screen+ this makes it so you can snap things to four seperate quadrants
Bright picture and screen

Cons: The menu is a little hard to get used to using on it when setting it up, but that is more of a operator problem not machine lol.

Other Thoughts: This is a beautiful monitor and its for a very good steal, I am planning on buying another 2 here in the future

2 out of 5 eggsMonitor failed after 3 months

Pros: Cheap, looks nice, asserts laws of gravity on desk.

Cons: Failed after 3 months. Darkened, moving lines now appear on screen at all times. Tested other monitors to make sure it was not vidcard or pc or particular game.

Other Thoughts: Worked great...for a while. Might as well have been renting it.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the price

Pros: The price and size was the selling point for me. No major issues since day one

Cons: The color is way off from the start. the whites looked yellow, greens looked brown, ect. I contacted AOC and they told me not every monitor will be the same and their is nothing they can do about changing it ( which i fully understand since I run 5 other monitors ) But this monitor was no where near close to being correct in colors. Read some reviews and this is common, So I spent about 8 hrs and adjusted the colors on the monitor to come close to the others. Again I have 5 other monitors running and I have never had to do so much tweaking to make it look better. Im not being overly picky because of a multi monitor setup but just in general, if this was my only monitor I was using I would have returned it from the start but I put is some time and tweaked it and now it looks great.
The software is also a joke, it says you can do all these cool things but the programs dont work at all.

Other Thoughts: I wish I would have looked more into this monitor and read all the issues people were having with it before I bought it.
Overall i am happy with it just wish I didnt have to tweak it so much or better yet I wish it would have came with some good software.

5 out of 5 eggsColor Adjustment

Pros: - Price for size (I got it on a sale)
- Brightness

The monitor is a nice upgrade from my prior 24" screens. It's very bright (but adjustable if you want a dimmer screen) and looks great, least as far as I'm able to tell.

Cons: - HDMI connection is detected as a TV by videocard (see other thoughts)
- 'large pixels'. Compared to other monitors it is slightly 'fuzzy' but I don't notice it at all anymore, even when it's immediately adjacent to a clearer monitor.

Neither seemed worth docking a point.

Other Thoughts: When connected by HDMI to a videocard the screen looks rather washed out. The solution is found by a search for something like "Monitor color range". For nvidia cards using latest drivers, under the Nvidia control panel change the color range from limited to full and that washed out look will vanish immediately. I cannot stress checking this enough because it went from me considering this a 3 egg monitor to a 5 egg monitor.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor for the price

Pros: Fast enough for games, big, clear lightweight

Cons: Needs gamma corrected from the Video card side for game use.

Other Thoughts: If using for games it will have a washed out look. This can be corrected from your video card side. Open the controller for the vid card and change gamma setting.

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitor at good price.

Pros: -large clear screen with good color after adjustment
-HDMI x2, with speaker in and out, vga
-real button controls (though underneath) with lots of options
-no dead pixels (even 1 dead pixel should not be tolerated)
-some bleed through, but very little
-volume control in menu via speaker out
-out standing for gaming and text, photo work - very fast !

Cons: -pixel density is not the highest - but not really noticeable
-no built in speakers, but the audio in/out does just fine and volume control in menu
-one small area of dark smudge called a 'mira' I think. lower right that has pretty much went away after color, contrast, brightness corrections
-poor color out of the box but after adjustments, just fine.
-slightly flimsy stand

Other Thoughts: If you get this monitor under $200 it is a steal, the colors for a TN panel are exceptional to me anyways but only after some major corrections via on board adjustments and graphic display adjustments. Remember less is more. Speaking of- the brightness is amazing, almost too bright but looks good against darks. There is some bleed through but exceptionable for price and type of panel- monitor optimization removes nearly all of this.

The stand is wobbly, but is actually very strong- you will never notice if your desk, coffee table, etc is stable. I my self, always build cabinets for my monitors- it blocks out light, protects, hides cables, houses my speakers and many different accessories. I just put a couple of screws through the base. The cabinet is 1/2 cedar box just around the monitor only, sticking out about 3" on each side to block light.

I used to prefer my monitors always have speakers (even if poor ones) because I freq hook up gaming consoles but the in/out audio is even better. I set of speakers works great so your xbox/ps sounds fine via HDMI connections.

Again this display does not have as many pixels per inch as some higher end monitors nor compares to 4k, and does not need to at its great price point. Games look fine and so does video, pictures, text after monitor optimizations. 10-15mins of adustments does this display a world of improvement.

There was one small dark smudge or area of darkness on the screen near the right bottom area, freq with most monitors of this type, class. Barely noticeable and after optimization, I cannot even find it anymore.

The menus are pretty rough to navigate through, and the onboard controls via software did not work for me. But I have not touched the controls after initial setups so this con is not that important. Dependent on your video card may need to change to CMYK 444 - and if possible I would suggest any monitor that can display that do so.

Screen is a nice matte but displays everything pretty good, while some IPS monitors I have do much better with glossy items I was still pleased. The cabinet itself- arrgh is extremely fingerprint glossy, so much so the first thing I did was take some fine sandpaper to it- glossy surfaces are not for gamers it is for little girls who think it looks prettier. Now this is to the front boarder where you are looking into the screen. Also for those wanting to setup multiple monitors this may not be for you as the front stiles are nearly 7/8 inch wide.
Monitor start up and shutdown is pretty fast, the blue LED under that bottom is kinda bright to me, perma marker fixed that,

Final thoughts: For the price, type, and class this monitor more then exceeded my expectations. I will be using it for console games and pc games only, though it performed well with graphics editors. I was surprised how much optimization this monitor needed and the presets are a joke, after wards it looks amazingly good. Not $400-500 but close. IT is fast to 2ms

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bright screen, Nice contrast. Has operated perfectly since i bought it.

Cons: The stand seems a little cheap but i'm really splitting hairs with the stand.

Other Thoughts: If you can get it for a decent price it has worked great for me. When i upgrade my second monitor (which is currently a tv) I will purchase another one of these.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor for the price

Pros: Great price. Also, its huge.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: I don't know how you can expect more for the sale price I got it at. Its large, the picture quality is as good as I've yet owned, and its a lot of monitor. Stand is sturdy. Used for gaming and movies.

5 out of 5 eggsGood but only after color ajustments.

Pros: I like this monitor very much now, though not at first. After adjusting the color with the Nvidia control panel everything fell into place.

Cons: You must adjust the color before you get quality color

Other Thoughts: If you can find it for around $200. get it!
