5 out of 5 eggsa super deals

Pros: Couldn't get better for the little price I paid. I have seen used pieces of junk on crgslst that cost more than this gem. I'm glad I found Newegg so I the only thing I do crgslst is see how much better of a deal I got.

Cons: works great and I can't find anything to complain about for the low price i paid.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Monitor Update

Pros: None

Cons: The monitor is junk and Newegg doesn't RMA refurbished. I contacted AOC over a week ago after receiving it for warranty support . No response. Spend your money on something better.

3 out of 5 eggsBought 4, Mixed Feelings

Pros: I bought four of these monitors. The good? Dirt cheap, and a great size for dirt cheap. Although they're advertised as 19", the box even says 19" (18.5" screen) and although 19" is small, they aren't small.

So for only $60, you are getting dirt cheap, not-small monitors. Although they pale in comparison to any real monitor or any real size of screen like my 30" or even a small HDTV, they are quite big for only $60. If you're replacing a 21" or getting a second cheap monitor, IMO it's not a big deal at all. If I had a small primary monitor (under 23") then this would make a serious second monitor.

Honestly, if I wasn't so pompous about my image quality and the other big con (half the monitors were dim compared to the other half which were bright & vivid), I would order 6-9 of these and have some sort of matrix setup, mounting them to my wall.

Cons: Biggest Con is VGA connection is required to hook it up. If you want/need to convert it- which you will if you have a serious setup, then you will be paying for adapters. This drives the price up, depending on what you want. If you try to keep the cost cheap, then the adapters may hurt the already bad image quality.

If you don't need an adapter and have VGA input on your laptop/computer, then this would be perfect right out of the box.

I am skeptical as to my choice, as if you include adapters in the cost, a few more dollars might have given me much better quality. More than likely, more expensive 19" have significantly better image quality. Which brings me to...

Image Quality.

Coloring isn't horrendous or anything. Most people won't even notice. You will HAVE to tweak the settings on the monitor to get accurate colors, including tweaks on your O/S. is good enough for even someone as pompous as me to keep it as a secondary monitor.

The resolution is quite low when you're a serious computer user. If you're not a huge nerd or image quality snob, the resolution is more than enough for you. I am not disappointed though, as I knew what to expect. In actuality, I'm a bit pleased as the resolution is high enough to actually be usable as a permanent secondary monitor.

I deducted two stars, because I received 4 of these. Two of them are very bright and vivid, even coming closer to matching the colors of some more expensive monitors. The other two units? Much darker, less vivid, more dull.

The two bright and vivid monitors are 5/5 star worthy. The two dark ones are 2/5 star worthy. I will be trying to contact NewEgg about this, but given their policy I have my doubts they will fix this. And if half of the monitors I received were like this, there is a good chance I will just be sent another dim monitor instead of a bright, vivid one.

Other Thoughts: I am a tech extremist, and I checked the cables, adapters, monitor settings- the works. Those two monitors are just plain dim compared to the other lively two. Not so Dim that it's a big problem which results in anger, but Dim enough to never buy one of these again. Hopefully NewEgg will fix this.

I deducted 2 stars, because most likely, some people will receive dim models, while others vivid ones. I feel those who get unlucky and receive a dim one do not know what they're missing, and -2 stars bc they're probably screwedeven for only $60.

3 out of 5 eggsLooks OK

Pros: It was a monitor for $59 with promo code.

Cons: This is not LED quality.... In fact, I don't think it is LED. This is advertised as LED.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this monitor if you are looking for a extra monitor for your computer.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect For What We Needed

Pros: Excellent price

Cons: Can't think of any

Other Thoughts: My fiance and I have been without a dual monitor setup for awhile and decided to upgrade ourselves with our Xmas money. I picked out this model for both of us (a purchase of 2 of these monitors) because the price was right and we just wanted a second monitor for each of us for multi-tasking, TV watching, and "just in case" our main monitors stopped working, we'd have adequate backup until they could be replaced. I picked this particular model because I've had an AOC 2436 (a 24" HD model) as my main monitor for several years now that I purchased at an excellent price as a floor model and have been extremely pleased with it. So I decided to go with AOC for our dual monitor setup. Nice clear picture on both of them, no dead pixels, etc. They're perfect for what we wanted. I expect, if my main monitor is any indicator, that we'll be enjoying these second monitors for a long time to come. A great bargain!
