1 out of 5 eggsNot 144Hz

This review is from: AOC G2460PQU Black 24" 144hz 1ms Professional Gaming Monitor 350 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Height&Pivot adjustable, Built-in Speakers&USB HUB

Pros: Hard to come up with any pros when I'm only getting this to be a 144Hz monitor that matches my AOC G2460PG. It's not 144Hz, so it's just an overpriced 60Hz monitor.

Cons: Would not run at 144Hz. I tried using the PnP Windows drivers, the drivers included on the CD, and downloading drivers from AOC's website. I tried changing the resolution from 60Hz to 144Hz in both Windows settings and the nVidia control panel. I tested with both the included dual link DVI-D cable and a DisplayPort cable that works with my other 144Hz monitor, and I tested with both monitors plugged in and with just the new monitor. I also tested all the same stuff with my girlfriend's computer (which has an AMD GPU), and I still couldn't get anything other than 60Hz.

Other Thoughts: I would never recommend this monitor to anyone. There's no reason to spend $250 on a 24" 1080p TN display that's only 60Hz. I would instead recommend the G2460PG, which I've had for a year and which has been absolutely great (mostly because of 144Hz, but gsync is nice too).

2 out of 5 eggsStay Away

This review is from: AOC G2460PQU Black 24" 144hz 1ms Professional Gaming Monitor 350 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Height&Pivot adjustable, Built-in Speakers&USB HUB

Pros: Does 60hz just fine

Cons: Not even close to 144hz

Other Thoughts: Bought this monitor a few months ago on sale for 200 off of jet.com, anything above 60hz has incredibly bad frameskipping and blur. When compared to my brothers VG248QE the difference is night and day. Tested with dvi and display port on two different computers with an r9 380 and 390. Look at other reviews and you will find the same problems this monitor is plagued with. If you're looking to waste your money then look no further.

1 out of 5 eggs144 hertz? ya right

This review is from: AOC G2460PQU Black 24" 144hz 1ms Professional Gaming Monitor 350 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Height&Pivot adjustable, Built-in Speakers&USB HUB

Pros: - works great as a 60 hertz (advertised 144)! no dead pixels either!

Cons: I kinda got it because it was advertised at 144 hertz (and its price), sadly neither dvi or display port is showing 144 hertz. I was having some doubt so I had a friend bring his ASUS 144 hertz monitor to confirm and finally saw the insane difference 144 hertz does compared to this defected monitor. looking at the reviews i figured it was a solid choice to pick this monitor. Unfortunately i was mistaken. I don't blame Newegg on this one, but looking at the forums on this monitor; it is showing that I am not the only one having this problem with this model. Thank goodness for warranty right? I will sending this back to hopefully get it fixed properly.

3 out of 5 eggsNot sure...

This review is from: AOC G2460PQU Black 24" 144hz 1ms Professional Gaming Monitor 350 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Height&Pivot adjustable, Built-in Speakers&USB HUB

Pros: - Great for the price
- 144hz
- Crisp as can be
- All around a great monitor

Cons: I am not sure if this is a monitor issue or not. I have tried other cables and I have a problem that still persists. When I play games in fullscreen windowed, or even windowed, I get this screen tear that is ungodly. It has nothing to do with vertical sync or that, so that is not the problem. And the thing is, it is only half of my monitor. Half of my monitor will desync and tear and the other have will be fine. My video card is newer, so I do not think it is my card, and I did tweak alot of settings, still no go. And it is come and go. So it will be fine for a bit, it will get super bad, then go away, rinse, wash, repeat. That is honestly my only complaint about this, and it might not even be the monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsAOC G2460PQU

This review is from: AOC G2460PQU Black 24" 144hz 1ms Professional Gaming Monitor 350 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Height&Pivot adjustable, Built-in Speakers&USB HUB

Pros: -Excellent color
-144hz/1ms GTG
-Aesthetically pleasing
-OSD menu is fantastic
-Built in USB hub

Cons: -1st unit I got wasn't achieving 144hz and had to RMA.

Other Thoughts: The Good:

First off, this monitor is fantastic. Great colors for a TN panel. 144hz is silky smooth The 1ms response time makes playing FPS games a dream. I absolutely love the overall appearance of the monitor too. The red accents really add to the "gaming" look. I also really like the faux brushed metal look and how the plastic has a matte finish. Doesn't attract dust and fingerprints like Asus VG248QE (which I also have). An abundance of settings in the OSD, and I REALLY like the fact the the color settings are all at or around 50 (unlike most other monitor manufacturers that have them around 90-100) leaving a lot of room for customizing the colors to your liking. Also the Image Ratio setting does a great job simulating other aspect ratios. Haven't come across many monitors that have this feature.

The "Bad":

Obviously I was very upset when I got the monitor and I wasn't getting 144hz. Nvidia control panel said that the monitor was set to 144hz as well as the monitor itself in the OSD menu, but I could visually see that it wasn't running at 144hz. I appeared to be running at 60hz. Contacted AOC and they responded relatively quick, within a day or 2. Told them what was going on, sent pictures and videos of what I was experiencing. A day later they agreed that something was wrong and immediately got the RMA process going. Took about 2-3 days to get to them (shipping from New Hampshire to California) and within one day of them confirming they received it, it was on its way back. Took another 3-4 business days to get back to me and all is well. Needless to say even though I need to RMA a brand new monitor, my RMA experience was great. For this reason I still give it 5 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this monitor

This review is from: AOC G2460PQU Black 24" 144hz 1ms Professional Gaming Monitor 350 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Height&Pivot adjustable, Built-in Speakers&USB HUB

Pros: Thew monitor looks really nice. It sits perfect to another one of my 24", and it has height adjust, so it should fit well as a dual monitor.
Since this is a gaming monitor, people take the time to professionally calibrate the colors. So, there are a few .icm profiles out there that have finely tuned the color, and reproduced an impeccable display.
No dead pixels for me.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I don't generally write reviews, but I feel that this monitor has some negativity associated with it, not because of the monitor, but because of trolls here reviewing produces incorrectly. One of the 1 egg reviews, the title is "this game be the worst virus." How this review isn't removed is beyond me, it is not real.

Some of the others are some poor complains to even be docking 1 egg. This is a 5 egg product, easily

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor for the price, if it doesn't break

This review is from: AOC G2460PQU Black 24" 144hz 1ms Professional Gaming Monitor 350 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Height&Pivot adjustable, Built-in Speakers&USB HUB

Pros: Great picture, speakers may be pretty quiet but they are still very nice to have. rapid charge USB ports are amazing for someone who often forgets to charge their phone and other electronics.

Cons: first monitor i recieved had a dead pixel within a week of me owning it, though the return process was pleasant and went well.

Update (1/6/2016):

The second unit i received has now developed a faint white line across the entire monitor. It is very noticable when displaying anything even remotely dark. Avoid purchasing if you want a monitor that will last.

This is the second unit in 9 months that has had a major flaw.

2/3/16

Returned from the manufacturer good as new!

Other Thoughts: Great monitor for a few months, if you don't want the hassle of dealing with not having a monitor for a couple weeks while they take their time processing your request i suggest going with a different monitor.
