5 out of 5 eggsGreat value, not IPS but close.

Pros: 2560x1440 resolution at 60hz
1ms response time
Narrow borders
Great colors after a little calibration
3 year warranty

Cons: TN panel, not IPS as it intimates on the Overview page in the Newegg Specifications!
VGA cable included, not sure why when the max resolution of vga is 1920x1200.
No height adjustment
Color a little off until calibrated.

Other Thoughts: After unboxing I was quite impressed by the build quality, the borders are narrow, however they are glossy, so can be a bit of a finger print magnet. No height adjustment, which may be a deal breaker for some, however it sits at the correct height for me. This is a TN panel and not IPS. Initially I was a little confused as the overview page at Newegg shows and IPS logo. This is clearly a mistake and needs to be rectified. Not sure why it also shows USB 3.0 too.

Anyway, once the monitor was set up (little disappointed about the vga cable included as this is a 2560x1440 monitor so anyone using the vga cable will only be able to use the monitor at 1920x1200), it was a little washed out. Easily rectified by calibration and for anyone without a calibration tool there are some profiles available online and these are easily installed. Setting the brightness to 20 allowed for a reading of 150cd/m2 which is where I like to leave it in my slightly dim office.

The screen uniformity was good, no bright spots or dead pixels. The monitor is completely flicker free as it does not use PWM to adjust brightness.

I was not able to test response time, however I didn’t notice any ghosting during my gaming sessions.

Quite an impressive monitor for the money, great value. Default colors can be improved with a little calibration making it even more impressive.

3 out of 5 eggsSomewhat limited angles

Pros: Looks good if you have the right viewing height, which is near the top.

Cons: If you view it from the middle or lower, the top starts looking blue. It doesn't help that the stand is higher than my widescreen monitor when this screen is vertically higher as well.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap
Has all connections (dvi requires dual link which is not included)

Cons: A bit too orange compared to my old monitor which was a HannsG HL273 1080p monitor. It's not the brightness, it's more about saturation.

Other Thoughts: Was funny seeing the fedex guy sprint away after ringing the door bell and leaving the box at the door.

Also the monitor doesn't support audio if used with displayport, so you will have to change that in your gpu program. AMD wanted to default to the displayport audio, so I needed to change it to the actual speakers. Nothing too complicated though.

4 out of 5 eggsIPS'like QHD TN panel

Pros: 1ms response with low 20's input lag. all i/o ports, no backlight bleed, no PMW, fast low watt consuming TN, great blacks like a VA, with the contrast and bright colors like an IPS. 4 stand screws reusable for VESA 100. matte panel. lightweight unit with barely any heat output. using a DP 1.2a GPU and cable at 60Hz I didn't see any blur tear or skip beyond what was already in the content thanks to its Adaptive Sync ability. 3 year USA domestic warranty.

Cons: AOC listed information is so poorly proof read that it's laughable: TN (not IPS), very limited Adjustable stand (not Fully), Average boarder (not Narrow), USB3 (yet no hub), Screens+ (no PIP), not 76Hz capable(see other thoughts).
stand can not be remounted on the side for portrait mode. gloss frame, toy like stand.

Other Thoughts: ( I had a BB gift so I got mine there.) the very first thing you must do is lower the Brightness to 30% as the factory setting is way too high. this will OC 61-80Hz but you will always skip a regular interval of frames so don't bother.
if you often look at this screen at an angle you may find the gloss frame distracting as it reflects a bit off the panel. at 1440p some may need to adjust their desktop to 125% and browser to 110% to be easily legible. everything is big and perfectly 100% scale legible should you decide to keep it set at 1080p.

screen menu and buttons take some getting used to, but at least there is a dedicated power and i/o source button, which are the two I need most often. no speakers but at least the headphone in/out jacks are more to the left side (that was for you - Linus).

If I was setting up a call center and needed the largest low watt low heat screen money can buy for my worker bees, this AOC would be it. everyone else would be wiser waiting for this to go on sale and buy once it's >24% off MSRP.
