1 out of 5 eggsRed flag! AOC support is VERY toxic

This review is from: AOC G2770PF Black 27" 144hz 1ms Widescreen LED Backlight Free-Sync Monitor 300 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Pivot & Height adjustable, Built-in Speakers

Pros: I have bought several AOC 144hz monitors online this year. I was very satisfied until now. I run an office with several of these monitors set up. They all use the USB hub functionality. We love the hub because we have USB headsets, mice, keyboards, and are constantly using thumb drives. Its super convenient and slick to have four USB ports right on your monitor.

Cons: Cautionary tale, their company is toxic toward customers. Be very careful...

One of the monitors shipped without the required USB cable. Having had pleasant experiences with various companies in the past that are quick to remedy situations like this, especially for repeat customers who, when satisfied, will buy and recommend their products for years to come, I figured I would just contact their support team within a day or two of receiving the monitor. What happened next blew my mind!

In my very first email, I included a PDF of the invoices from newegg and explained the monitor shipped without a USB cable and asked if they could just send me a replacement. Their response was, "Hey, we're glad you like our monitors :D" ... I respond and ask, "Did you read the email? The product arrived without a cable." They replied, "Oh, we don't ship these monitors with cables. Thats not the policy. Look, it says here it ships with a CD and a user manual. All is well!"

... The idiot outright lied to me, a repeat customer, who only bought this monitor so that it matches the other 5 in my office which are all the same make and model. Word to the wise, avoid AOC like the plague. This is a huge red flag...

If they are treating repeat customers this badly over something that would have cost them less than a dollar to remedy, oh man. I can't even imagine how much email tag they'd play with you if the products you receive have bigger issues.

Other Thoughts: I guess this just earned them several 0 star reviews on the various websites from which I've bought these things. Each review is going to be marked, "Verified owner". I'd post the emails if I could. You guys would be shocked if you saw how their customer support talked to customers. I can't believe they'd just straight up lie. Blows my mind.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, So good!

This review is from: AOC G2770PF Black 27" 144hz 1ms Widescreen LED Backlight Free-Sync Monitor 300 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Pivot & Height adjustable, Built-in Speakers

Pros: This is a great looking, 1080p monitor, with Freesync integration. The picture is very excellent and color / picture modes are very nice as well. Free sync definitely seems like a worthwhile upgrade, though it may just be the higher refresh rate that makes everything look different.

Cons: Default driver along with Radeon settings only activated Freesync between 40 hz and 60 hz

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this product, though in order to fully experience its Freesync functionality, you will need to visit AOCs European site to download the most recent beta driver, so you can enable Freesync between 30 hz and 144 hz. http://aoc-europe.com/en/products/g2770pf

5 out of 5 eggsawesome picture

This review is from: AOC G2770PF Black 27" 144hz 1ms Widescreen LED Backlight Free-Sync Monitor 300 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Pivot & Height adjustable, Built-in Speakers

Pros: Color looks great. No dead pixels, smooth motion. I've had it for over 4 months and only problem I've had is, it likes to go in hibernate mode when you turn your pc on. It's my fault though,
not setting it up correctly. Other then that it's a great gaming pc. The picture is very crisp and with a 144hz refresh rate I can't complain.

Cons: None so far

3 out of 5 eggsLooks nice

This review is from: AOC G2770PF Black 27" 144hz 1ms Widescreen LED Backlight Free-Sync Monitor 300 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Pivot & Height adjustable, Built-in Speakers

Pros: Nice looking monitor, big screen

Cons: Freesync range of 35-144hz doesn't work without a non wqhl driver. Overdrive doesn't work in freesync mode. Display port connection stopped detecting input signal about a week in.

Other Thoughts: I ended up ordering a different freesync monitor, this was my 2nd time giving aoc a chance and both times I was left disappointed. Customer service was non responsive as well. I would not recommemd this product.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy with this

This review is from: AOC G2770PF Black 27" 144hz 1ms Widescreen LED Backlight Free-Sync Monitor 300 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Pivot & Height adjustable, Built-in Speakers

Pros: No dead pixels. With windows 10 this was plug and play for me. No use for the disc at all. iMenu on disc unnecessary, use the buttons. You can actually see the difference from a 60 hz monitor when you turn quickly in game, with same fps.(BF4) Crazy height adjustment, prob use at bottom though.

Cons: It is a TN panel, which means its' great for high fps, not awesome color. I haven't messed with the menus much, but the colors aren't awesome. They are way better than my old monitor, and BF4 looks great, not VIBRANT though. As a gamer I wanted 144 hz to make use of high fps, VIBRANT (more $$ monitors) doesn't make 60 hz have smoother game play. VERY bright, I have brightness set near zero. If you use one of the modes and then turn down brightness, upon restart its bright again, don't use a mode.

Other Thoughts: For high fps gaming-5 eggs. Had this about 2 months. In BF4 I could instantly see the difference between 80-90 fps and 130 and up. On my old 60 hz monitor, anything over 90 looked good, with this you can see its not as smooth as having 130+fps. Now I need a better vid card to run high or ultra above 130fps. In windows and in game you need to set to 144 hz. I'm happy with this very clear and very (144hz) smooth monitor.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: AOC G2770PF Black 27" 144hz 1ms Widescreen LED Backlight Free-Sync Monitor 300 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Pivot & Height adjustable, Built-in Speakers

Pros: Bright, fast response, free sync, great colors. Video and games look good

Cons: Low resolution,Dot Pitch. Text looks terrible, Noticeable screen door effect from black between pixels. Extra black space also creates overly black areas, and screws with contrast.

Other Thoughts: 1080 is probably just too low of a resoloution for this large a monitor but I was surprised by the poor dot pitch

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy!

This review is from: AOC G2770PF Black 27" 144hz 1ms Widescreen LED Backlight Free-Sync Monitor 300 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Pivot & Height adjustable, Built-in Speakers

Pros: Very nice colors and contrast! I have it next to my 24" ASUS VW246H and the difference is almost unbearable!

And of course the 144 hz is beautiful and smooth. It's everything I have ever dreamed of. I'm playing games smoother than Michael Jackson in the early 80s and enjoying high framerate content on YouTube. Worth every penny.

Cons: I got home late and it was waiting for me in my room. It was late enough that all stores were closed, but I was excited to open it. The box did not include a Dual-Link DVI-D cable, which began to worry me. It did, however, include a DisplayPort cable, and HDMI (which is not capable of 144 hz). However, my graphics card only had a Mini DisplayPort connection, which, after some digging, I was lucky enough to find an adapter for in the box that came with my graphics card.

This is maybe more error on my part to not check the connections and do proper research before ordering, but I feel like a complimentary Dual-Link DVI-D cable would be nice.

But this little inconvenience is not enough to take off an egg. This monitor is gorgeous!

Other Thoughts: At first I was a little skeptic as I have never heard of AOC, but I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. This is a great monitor. I have yet to try the Free Sync out, as my graphics card is a little outdated, but as soon as I upgrade, I will be sure to check it out. But honestly, I don't think I will use it. I'm very happy with the 144 hz on this monitor. I'm not sure exactly how much more Free-sync would improve this. This is beautiful the way it is!

Like the other reviewer mentioned, there was a little tweaking with settings involved to get it to 144 hz, but nothing someone who isn't familiar with their OS won't be able to figure out.

3 out of 5 eggsgreat buy

This review is from: AOC G2770PF Black 27" 144hz 1ms Widescreen LED Backlight Free-Sync Monitor 300 cd/m2 80,000,000:1, Pivot & Height adjustable, Built-in Speakers

Pros: Looks- has a brush steel look on a back.

Has a auto on feature and has 4 USB ports. 2 fast charge and 2 normal. All four gets power when in standby mode also.

No screen tear even tho no using free sync yet.

Has vesa and if your a person that is good with moding a disk a mount for a stand is link a bottom so you can make a hole on a desk then screw it in place on a desk.

Has a nice feel to it as in look wise.

Speakers are good for a price (but has no bass really)

If your looking for a good buy this is perfect for free sync has a rang is 30 to 160Hz (38-160 on a 24inch) so good rang free sync 24/7 unless under 30FPS.

Cons: The drivers was not a EXE and needed more work then normal to install. If your not good with computers and want this to be plug and play i am sorry to tell you that this will be locked down to 60 till drives are install to get 144hz

Menus are hard to use. Bottons layout is old . Uses a old fashioned 3 button way no wheel or sticks like on a LG and another brands

A i-menu is slow and don't work most of the times.

The last con is there is a switch that is
Good a hiding that is off out of a box. Turn it on then the will have power. Makes no sense to have a switch that is well hidden that is switch off from a box

Other Thoughts: Even tho i use a nvidia GPU right now a screen tear is near to none on this one. Also it has game modes. Tuned just for any game type. Will give it 5 eggs when they make a driver EXE and pack note in a box that tells about a switch. Will be giving a 4 eggs after i had some time to see how its really is. Had only for 24 hours. If you need a 27 inch gaming free sync. This is a one for a cost.
