Don't miss this one!
- Pros: Crisp text, great color. Games and DVD's look good to me, no ghosting, using a 6800gs video card. I replaced my 21" Samsung with this LCD and would not go back!I have been scared to convert over but this is a high quality monitor with exellent user interface and NO dead pixels!
- Cons: Cost more that some, but great quality.
- Other Thoughts: I did not need another tv, just a good computer monitor. This monitor has not gotten as much press as the Dell 24" but for straight computer work and computer gaming it's amazing!
Maybe perfect?
- Pros: I have to say this is amazing. Fantastic brightness and contrast ratio. Colors are very vibrant; haven't seen colors this good since my old CRT monitor. Display is consistent from corner to corner without any significant light leakage at the edges. No color distortion at any viewing angle. I don't play games, but DVDs look great. Puts my laptop's WUXGA display to shame...
- Cons: The stand has me a little worried as the position of the display is adjusted by simply applying enough pressure in the direction you want it to go, and is held in place by whatever resistance is built-in to the stand. There are no (apparent) screws to tighten should the stand "loosen up" over time.
- Other Thoughts: Be careful if you purchase this as a second monitor for your laptop, or you may come to hate the display in your laptop!

Excellent monitor and delivery time
- Pros: Paid $1000.00 4 years ago for a 21.3" 1600x1200 monitor. This monitor is superior in every respect. Color (white and black levels), brightness, contrast, etc. Although not at professional (3 to 4 times the cost) levels, it is as good as it gets in this price range. NO DEAD PIXELS! My $1000 dollar monitor had 2. Bezel, for the size, is just right (mechanical rigidity). The base, in my opinion, is sturdy and functional although a bit utilitarian.
Ordered at noon Monday and received unit Wednesday morning on 3 day ground! Base is nice and flat and therefore can accommodate a gadget or two. Very competitive price.
- Cons: I would have liked a 2560 x 1600 resolution in this form factor. Personally I think a 30" screen is too large for one's field of view, i.e., visual perception would be difficult at this width. I suppose panel cost is the primary factor.
HP LP2465 - GREAT!!
- Pros: Great color...sharp picture...
I was looking for the highest resolution (1920x1200) I could afford without getting too large of a monitor. I was primarily looking for monitor to use for work/home ...GIS applications, MS Office, Corel Draw, CAD and digital/video editing....NOT FOR GAMES. We use these monitors at work and they are GREAT. The monitors focus on performance and not gadgets. So all you get is 2 DVI connections and USB outlets. No HDMI or Analog. I also love the verticle height adjustment...can't see why anyone would purchase a monitor without this feature.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: A little pricey....but well worth it.
HP LP2465 is a Great Monitor
- Pros: Besides the visual real estate this monitor provides, the text quality is amazing, sharper than any CRT I've owned (currently for CRTs I have a Samsung Syncmaster NF900 19" and an HP p1120 21"). I can read 6-point fonts in Wordperfect with this monitor! Colors are vibrant and rich. Hi-res, widescreen photos for the desktop look like you have a high-quality print right in front of you under good lighting. The color calibration software worked well. The contrast is excellent, better than either of my CRTs, which becomes evident when watching DVD's. I noticed no lag or ghosting effects. I am not a gamer, so cannot evaluate it under gaming conditions. I'm on the computer more than 12 hours a day (much is text based) and no eyestrain with this monitor.
- Cons: The brightness is set too high out of the box but the HP Display Assistant software allows easy correction (I prefer brighntess between 0-5 and contrast at 80). You can create your own presets and load them when light conditions change. Light bleedthrough in a dark is average. I run the Stellarium planetarium program of the night sky through it and bleedthrough isn't noticeable. My ATI Radeon X800XL card claims to be able to pivot the monitor between landscape and portrait modes but it doesn't work. HP bundles Pivot Pro software for that function and it works for me.without a problem. It doesn't have an HDMI input, so if you want a Hi-Def monitor for your movies, this may not suit you. The twin DVI inputs for me are just fine.
- Other Thoughts: Although I use LCD monitors at work and have spent hours in stores running monitors throught their paces, this is the first LCD I was willing to buy for myself. It's neither the cheapest nor most expensive 24" monitor out there, but its performance makes it a bargain. It is a step up from the cheaper HP 2408h and doesn't have the glossy screen (if glossy screens bother you). The colors on the LP2465 are more accurate to my eye and the text quality is much superior. This monitor is impressive.
