Good Monitor for the Most Part
- Pros: 24 Inch, looks amazing, can change between vertical and horizontal positions. The monitor itself looks good, the stand allows flexible adjustments.
- Cons: One VERY VERY annoying problem: the wheel that the monitor rests on that allows it to spin is not very tight when it is locked into either of it's positions. What this means is when the monitor is in it's default horizontal possible, it will continuously tilt to the right if the desk moves or shakes even the slightest bit.
- Other Thoughts: If you can live with continuously adjusting the monitor or just don't care it tilts a few degrees, this is a great buy.
If you DON'T play games
- Pros: Games, good blacks (crumy whites)
- Cons: Poor or inoperative software, terrible support, color controls and pivot are only software enabled
- Other Thoughts: This monitor is only useful for gamers and according to HP support to use it properly you MUST have an HP computer. I don't, so the software "HP My display" will not run. The color menu on the monitor is disabled, so without software guess what?...similarily the pivot controls again require the software. HP recommends owners buy SpyderExpress to calibrate the monitor. This makes the cost of a useable monitor over $600.
Great Monitor
- Pros: Beautiful colors, and great contrast. The high-glossy screen is why I chose it over a Samsung. The viewing angles are not that bad...not like described below...all you have to do is adjust the angle and all is well. This thing has a lot of room to move. I love to watch movies on it...no jitters what so ever. The key to this monitor is the darker the room the better.
- Cons: A little pricey, but considering what you get in terms of ports, movement, etc. it is worth it.
- Other Thoughts: This is my fourth HP monitor. Their service has been great when needed, and their products second to none. Next up: a 30" HP.
