5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Monitor!

Pros: What a monitor! I have been shopping since November for a 22" monitor. I finally decided between the Samsung 226BW and this baby. When you see them side by side as I did at BB, the decision is easy to make. Got it at S****** for $299 and free shipping. Included all cords. Great buy!

Cons: No blurring of text, very sharp! No bleeding! No dead pixles! Plugged it up and did not adjust anything. Worked great right out of the box. I look at lots of school photos and I game a lot. I adjust for neither. The colors are absolutely beautiful! GREAT stand compared to others. Monitor itself has a quality and expensive look.

Other Thoughts: You will be pleased beyond measure with this. The glossy screen adds to the depth and richness of the colors and will exceed your expectations.

5 out of 5 eggsSick!

Pros: Text is super sharp. Colors are beatuiful. Great stand, yes GREAT stand compared to others. Monitor itself looks very expensive. Next to my top of line Dell 19" DVI it just puts it to SHAME.

Cons: Noticeable bleed on the top and the bottom, but I'm a gamer not a DVD watcher so it does'nt effect me at all. 1 Year Warranty????? Hey at this price (locally that is) it's a throw away.

Other Thoughts: If you can find this LCD locally get it while you can. At the Newegg price I did'nt even consider it but after I found it locally at B&M I hopped all over it. You will NOT be dissapointed TRUST me.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: The colors and brightness are great. I don't play games on this, but for all other purposes it's a great monitor. The stand is awesome because you can lower the screen so far that the bottom of the viewable portion is within about 2" of the desktop. If you choose to place the monitor below eye level, then you can angle the viewable area up significantly. Overall the picture quality and brightness, along with the extremely adjustable stand make this monitor an excellent value for me.

Cons: The LCD emits a lot of heat. It's noticably more than my Samsung of the same size. However, this monitor is also brighter so that could have something to do with it. Also, for multiple monitor setups, the bezel is much larger than average which takes away from the experience and creates seams in your viewable area.

Other Thoughts: This is a great mainstream monitor and I think most people would be very happy with it like I am.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome!

Pros: This Monitor is selling out at all of the local stores due to it's high quality! I had an Asus PG 221 and compared it to the HP w2207 and wow! the HP w2207 looks the same in picture quality without the Asus high cost. The asus had stuck blue pixels and more than normal backlight bleeding. The HP w2007 has some but not near as bad. Contrast is the same as the expensive Asus. I bought 2 of these HP monitors due to the quality. Sorry Newegg I did not buy from you as I wanted them now and they where on sale locally. But Newegg rocks with 100% of the time with all good transactions.

Cons: None! I wish the Asus was as good as advertized. 1000 to 1 is the same quality as the 2000 to 1 contrast ratios. At least in my recent comparisons.

Other Thoughts: HP w2007 and the w2207 both have 5ms reponse time and no ghosting at all. They are the same picture quality except for the 2" differences. I hope Newegg wiil keep these in stock as I will buy more of them for my family and customers.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Amazing

Pros: After about 3 weeks of searching for a new monitor to replace my 2 19" samsungs, I decided to get either 1 22" or 24" monitor. With more research, I discovered this beauty. This thing, combined with my EVGA GeForce 8800GTS SSC 640MB provides some of the best pictures quality I have ever seen. Not a single dead pixel. Amazing color and picture quality. Also, you have to love the ability to adjust to portrait style.
Looks great, feels very sturdy, good quality construction.
This replaced my dual 19" Samsung setup, and I couldnt be more pleased

Cons: Only thing I have noticed is the bleed through around edges, but thats hardly a con as it is considerably less than the amount I dealt with on my last monitors.

Other Thoughts: Intel Duo Core 2.8
4gb G-Skill PC2-4200
Antec 500w PSU
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS SSC 640MB
Windows XP Home / Vista Ultimate X4=64

4 out of 5 eggsmrbill

Pros: If reflections won’t be a problem for you, the glossy screen eliminates the shimmering effect found in matt finished monitors. That was a real + for me. No dead pixels so far. Monitor can be had for less then $300. Mine came with both a VGA and DVI cable.

Cons: As mentioned in other reviews, my monitor is darker near the top. Not a big deal unless you are displaying solid colors top to bottom. I never was able to get the included software to work, nor did I get the updated software from HP to work, They both crash on execution. A call to HP was a waste of time. The Non-USA located tech finally blamed my use of Windows XP Pro as the problem. He said I need to upgrade my OS (you got to be kidding!!!) The location of the USB ports on the left edge needs to be relocated/recessed.

4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful, simply beautiful

Pros: Simple setup and self-calibration works fantastic. This is the most beautiful LCD I've ever seen, and as an IT professional I've worked with dozens. The ergonomically adjustable stand is also very nice.

Cons: As with most monitor speakers the performance is only adequate for office use; not good for music or games.

3 out of 5 eggsDont Believe the HYPE!

Pros: Well I'm a Systems Admin for an insurance company, so I get to deal with PCs/Networks all day. A few of my co-workers have this monitor and I really liked it all in all.

Well after going to Circuit City and purchasing it and playing with it for about 3hrs, I still couldnt get a decent image/calibration from it, with or without the software or even with the nvidia fine tune.

The look and quality of the monitor was very nice. The glossy screen was nice but a little annoying to see every reflection on earth.

So I decided to return the monitor and buy a Samsung 226BW. All I got to say is... Samsung 226BW is 100x better in every way but 1. The Samsung doesnt have height adjustment. But the Samsung looks 10x better externally and the image is 1000x better.

Cons: Wow, where do I begin. Lets just say its way too difficult to calibrate to get even a decent image. The text/colors were not impressive at all.

Other Thoughts: Buy the Samsung 226BW, its 100x better. After viewing both monitors on my PC, playing games, watching movies and etc. The Samsung 226BW is way better.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Great colors, design, price is reasonable, no dead pixels for me.

Cons: Relatively large base, speakers suck, but who cares about that. I guess the software sucks, but I use my video card's display drivers anyways.

Other Thoughts: I was originally looking at the Samsung 22'', but after reading about the S and A model debacle, I read up on the hp w2207 and found some great reviews. Many say the colors are more vibrant on this monitor (probably due to the glossy display) than the Samsung's model. On the other hand the response time is a bit slower (5ms compared to 2ms). I mainly use my computer for gaming so this was a concern. Upon further research I read many reviews saying the naked eye could not detect the difference anyways between the response time differences. Overall, I got my hp w2207 for around $280 from circuit city and have only been deeply impressed by this monitor. I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a 22''. Especially those who are as disgusted at Samsung as I am.

5 out of 5 eggsIndescribably beautiful...

Pros: Very large, vibrant colors out of the box, crisp graphics, fast response time, ability to rotate to portrait, very bright, excellent stand, no dead-pixels.

Cons: Bad warranty. A monitor like this should definitely come with at least a three-year warranty. That's the only con I can think of...

Other Thoughts: I'm upgrading from a 17" NEC LCD which was good too. At time time it was purchased for ~$400. So to me this is an outstanding deal. I must say I am VERY satisfied and HP always makes quality electronics. They just need to work on their customer service aspects a little. Oh and it's cheaper on the HP website. ^_^
