1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works, has speakers

Cons: Power plugin is touchy, screen looks washed out no matter how much I manipulate the RGB, the 1080p scaling is unintelligent and overflows so I cant see the entire thing. Really not very bright, when I plug it in with hdmi I have have choppy frames on my laptop screen that's never happened before on anything else. Could buy a LED for less.

Other Thoughts: I'm glad it's not mine, honestly it's so shoddy I'd rather watch it burn than watch a movie on it. This is why I don't buy HP products an NEVER recommend them. There was more but I forgot. Don't waste your money on this garbage, I'm upset I can't give it ZERO eggs, I just had to make sure no-one even looks at this monitor again.

2 out of 5 eggsSpeakers no longer work

Pros: Great resolution and refresh rate. VERY crisp picture with no ghosting whatsoever.

Cons: The only reason I purchased this monitor was due to the monitor/speaker combo which saved greatly on space. As of last night the speakers decided to stop working. I did a factory reset, no luck. I swaped speakers from the PC and the PC is putting out sound so it is specifically the monitor speakers.

Volume is all the way up on monitor as well as there is no sound coming from monitor speakers when I do the built in speaker test..... As there is no sound coming from the monitor on the speaker test I am certain that the speakers have stopped working all together.

Other Thoughts: I have always been a HP monitor/printer-scanner/computer advocate but with this turnabout I am seriously dissapointed with their quality control

5 out of 5 eggsThe best at this price range

Pros: Excellent picture, sharp text and graphics, vibrant colors. I also own a samsung lcd and a viewsonic 1080p lcd and this monitor beats them both handily. For a tn panel monitor, you get amazing picture quality.

Absolutely awesome for games and movies, just a beautiful monitor. Perfect for those who were planning on hooking up a video game system to it.

Cons: The glossy surface does reflect much more than other lcd's I've used but it's very much worth the trade off due to the quality of the picture.

Other Thoughts: I purchase tons of stuff online and rarely write reviews, but I just had to spread the word on this monitor, it's well worth the money!

5 out of 5 eggseye candy

Pros: very crisp, bright, and clear
the size is perfect too, any bigger might actually be too big, unless you sit more than a couple of feet behind your monitor. i'm sitting about 2 and a half feet away, and any wider would start going into my peripheral vision
i went to a bunch of stores to actually check out the display of monitors, and i found that hp monitors were always the ones the drew my eyes, they are far more crisp than most other monitors (tech at one of the stores attributed it hp "brightview" technology). most others seemed kind of muddy to me
i also found that the menu was the most user friendly out of all of the ones that i had used. if it takes me much more than a couple of seconds just to figure out how to change the color settings and turn the menu back off, there's a problem

Cons: i honestly haven't run into any yet

Other Thoughts: the asus monitors i saw were nearly as crisp as these, but my eye still always went to the hp. also, i found the menu of the hp monitors more intuitive than the asus ones; but, they might be worth checking out too
i had to order this monitor online, which made me a little nervous. UPS doesn't have the best reputation of being gentle with there shipments, and i've personally recieved a doa that i think they're probably responsible for. but i spent an entire day going to every store in the city that sells monitors: everyone had the 21 inch model (which isn't 1080p) and the 23 inch model (which is a little more expensive then i wanted to go, and like i said up top, might actually be too big for me), but absolutely no one carried this one: the 21.5 inch model which is 1080p, and a reasonable price for my budget
all is well though, monitor got delivered undamaged, and in a timely fashion

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: True HD and beautiful picture, both on PC and PS3 (HDMI) No dead pixels high quality throughout (except built in speakers [speaker vents are in rear)

Cons: One of the speakers started crackling (like it blew out) 3 days after being hooked up via HDMI on the PS3. It would not stop me from buying another if the need arose. Honestly no one really cares about built in speaker performance.

Other Thoughts: My CRT broke on me, and I had to go to a local retailer for an immediate replacement. I usually buy all my stuff from Newegg, but had to shell out the extra bux for an emmediate fix. I am extremely happy w/ this monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful!

Pros: This monitor is just simply beautiful. I got it with a bundle pack. The clarity is amazing and no dead pixels! I use it for school and gaming.

Cons: Every once in a while, it makes a popping noise. It's annoying sometimes.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it's a great monitor!

3 out of 5 eggsTrouble for dual monitor setup

Pros: Looked great as a single monitor via DVI, awesome tech support

Cons: I'm not exactly sure, still, what the issue was, but, basically, the monitor wouldn't detect properly as a second monitor no matter what settings were used on any of the digital source options (DVI, HDMI) and on VGA would only show up at 768 resolution. I spent hours with the HP techs, and they were baffled, blaming the video card. But it's a new ATI Radeon, up-to-date drivers, and it works flawlessly with the comparable Dell monitor I replaced this with.

Other Thoughts: As a stand-alone monitor it seemed fine, but there's definitely something odd going on with its ability to be detected properly. There's a hundred similarly spec-ed and priced monitors out there, I'd avoid this one.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Purchase Ever

Coming Soon!

Pros: The greatest purchase I've made in over $3,000 worth of spending on Newegg over several years. Looks almost as good as a Apple monitor but with better game performance. The glossy screen and finish is unparrell to a lot of other monitors out there.

Cons: people weren't kidding about the speakers, they're really high and almost no low end. the volume does not get loud

Other Thoughts: The response time is great and the 1920x1080 native resolution looks stunning on a 21''. everything is so crisp so clear... when you go to a website you can now see the pixelization of many images that you couldn't with a bad monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsLovely

Pros: Haven't had a single problem with it since day one. Works and looks beautiful. It also seems to be hard to find monitors with this particular type of stand, which is what I was looking for.

Cons: The menu's a bit funny to navigate through with just four buttons, but then again most monitors' are.

Other Thoughts: The black protruding bars around the screen seem to attract the dust away from the screen itself. If this was intended, it's very cool.
