Pros: Excellent monitor, I bought it to replace my 26" Samsung TV that died. Picture quality is great, all my games show perfectly. There are no distortions and the monitor responds quickly to lighting changes in game.
Cons: The website says 2 HDMI ports, but there is only 1. I don't know if that's a typo or what, but I am not gonna cry because I have only 1 HDMI port.

Nice Monitor
Reviewed By: JacksonH on 11/19/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Personally, I like the glossy screen.
This monitor is massive, it is easily the best as far as size to price goes.
Gorgeous picture, works for my games and anything else i use.
Cons: Not many, can't think of too many.
Other Thoughts: Like the other reviewers, I don't have any screen tearing issues. I've played crysis, bioshock, and football manager on it and it works to perfection.

Great monitor, better than the LG 27 inch!
Reviewed By: Mr. Blastman on 11/9/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: The color on this monitor is great. There is no dithering of the colors and it reproduces practically every color that you will see on its own without magic tricks. It has a nice glossy screen which definitely helps make the colors and images pop. I use this game exclusively for gaming at a high level of competition and with v-sync on there is no image tearing. The acceleration feature, if turned on, helps with the action on-screen as well.
There was no adjustment period for the monitor either compared with the LG. I plugged this one in and turned auto-bright on and I was off and playing. Don't forget to turn off the monitor button LED.
For the price, this is the best 27 inch LCD monitor I have used.
Cons: Speakers? I'm not sure as I haven't bothered with them but others mention that.
If I had to mention any con it would be that it still uses a TN screen so of course you will have a slight variation in color from the top and bottom. This is minor considering that:
a. It costs very little b. It has a faster response time
As a gamer, faster response times are more important to me. Graphic artists might have an issue with this though.
Other Thoughts: I originally bought the LG 27-inch monitor. I took it back once I realized that it had black trail issues due to acceleration and most importantly, the LG monitor dithered the colors! It faked them! It was only 250,000 or so color capable. The HP display is easily a full 16-million color display. I took the LG back, bought the HP and have been very happy with it ever since. I do not regret changing to this montior at all.
Best of all, the HP monitor costs less! For what I paid and what it does, it has been well worth the money. The ambient light sensor is icing on the cake.
