4 out of 5 eggsBest Monitor I've owned

Pros: Inexpensive
Great color and light reproduction
great size
nicely made
About the right size.

Cons: at least one pixel was out when I got it. But I live with it

Other Thoughts: I have had a few LCD's at this point. 2 Dells, 2 Samsungs and a Veiwsonic. This is by far the nicest monitor I have had of them all. It is not perfect to the professional eye but it has no major flaws, its works great out of the box and its been full proof for over a year now. My Samsung look terible next to it and my Dells have both packed up.
So I would totally recommend this to someone. I like it so much I will get another now I have the money. As a reference I edit photography in lightroom, video edit, CAD, 3Ds Max etc etc.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: A good value
Adjustable height stand

Cons: None for me

Other Thoughts: For general workstation use, this has been a solid performer for me for nearly a year now. I wouldn't hesitate to order another should the need come up.

5 out of 5 eggsQuad vertical setup is nice

Pros: Have a quad array of these at work for coding/merge management, awesome setup, all vertical. All the comments about color I suspect have not calibrated properly. Viewing angle is decent (not stellar, but you get what you pay for).
I don't know if these are all that ideal for a gaming monitor, but for SW development they make a big desktop array affordable.

Cons: Viewing angle (ok, not great), vertical adjust, no included DP cables.

Other Thoughts: Just bought 4 and a x4 miniDP card for home config so I can WFH with the same setup as at work. Should make it nice :)

5 out of 5 eggsBuy this monitor. You won't regret it.

Pros: - A 24" inch 1920x1200
- I can see a BIG difference when I bump down the resolution to 1680x1050. The resolution makes a big difference.
-The Pricetag

Cons: - I don't have the space and money to run Eyefinity
- Requires a more powerful computer to utilize at the native resolution, but not a problem in my case.

Other Thoughts: Some people may worry about the screen being "dark" because of the lower contrast ratio. You have nothing to worry about the back-light is very bright and vibrant easily rivaling that of $800 lower resolution LED monitors. Also, if you plan on running games make sure you have enough VRAM to run it at the card's appropriate settings or you might find yourself having to lower them.

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitor

Pros: The monitor is great for programming. It's brightness and contrast are nicely adjustable. No issues with light bleeding or flickering

Cons: The viewing angle could be a bit better. I use the monitor primarily in vertical mode. You can really tell. Luckily, it's not too bad to text editing.

Other Thoughts: There are too few 1920x1200 24" monitors out there.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Monitor!

Pros: I just upgraded to this monitor from an Asus VH236H. The Asus is supposed to be one of the fastest monitors out there yet this keeps up equally as fast when running them side by side playing BF3 in 1920x1080 (yes, the HP is 1920x1200).

The color on the HP is much better. I haven't compared them side by side, but I believe it to be equally as good as my work monitor (Dell U2412M IPS).

Backlight bleeding is hugely improved over the Asus which was my 2nd biggest complaint with that monitor. The HP is most noticable in the right lower corner, but overall I give it a 10 when compared to other TN panels.

The viewing angle is MUCH better on the HP despite the fact that the Asus claims a higher viewing angle. My biggest complaint on the Asus was the viewing angle and it was rated at 170º; the spec on the HP is only 160º, yet you can actually move your head around quite a bit w/o seeing gradient shading on the HP.

Great sturdy adjustable stand!

OSD menus and controls are user int

Cons: If I must list a con, it would be be the viewing angle. With that said, I would give the viewing angle an 8.5 out of 10 when compared to all monitor technologies and a 10 out of 10 for a TN panel.

Other Thoughts: I purchased three of these and none had any dead or stuck pixels. I was a little hesitant to purchase this monitor because it was a little more pricey when compared to other TN panels, but I wanted the 1920x1200 resolution and didn't want to pay for an IPS. I believe this monitor is the most versatile monitor currently available for under $350 and I don't regret my purchase one bit - I would definitely recommend this monitor.

1 out of 5 eggsWhining Monitor

Pros: The monitor displays well. Contrast is good.

Cons: Some monitors had a loud and very annoying whine right out of the box. All others developed an increasingly loud whine over a few months of usage. There's probably a cheap transformer (Made in China, of course) that wasn't wound properly. It's probably the one that powers the fluorescent tube that illuminates the display. So, premature failure is likely.

Other Thoughts: Given the poor quality of the electronics powering an otherwise nice display. I would not recommend this monitor for anyplace other than an extremely noisy environment where the whining noise would not be noticed. Expect failure. HP should be ashamed of this poor quality product.

5 out of 5 eggsHP Monitore

Pros: 1920x1200 resolution, USB ports

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: It seems to be increasingly harder to find a high resolution monitor with the mass proliferation of HDTV quality LCD displays.

3 out of 5 eggs2 DOA out of 6

Pros: Large, cheap.

Cons: Poor viewing angle. On my last order of 6 of these, 2 were DOA.

Other Thoughts: This monitor fills the need for those who want a big monitor cheap. It's nowhere near a high quality monitor though.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor so far

Pros: 1920 x 1200. It seems so hard to find a decent monitor at a reasonable price at this resolution.
DisplayPort. I run triple monitors and my video card can do this as long as one of the monitors is DisplayPort. Didn't want to deal with an adaptor and needed the high resolution.

Cons: Non so far

Other Thoughts: I run this as my center monitor flanked by two 1600 x 1200 20" Dell monitors that I have had for several years. Major productivity boost since I work online and am on my computer all day long.
