2 out of 5 eggsL2105tm has poor Linux support

Pros: Good price performance for Windows from what I read.

Cons: Poor Linux support
The L2105tm does not work with Fedora Core 16 or Fedora Core 17.
I have tried the ubuntu-12.04.1 live CD and could not get the touchscreen function to work.
The HP site claims there are no drivers for the USB touchscreen. Because it is really
a QUANTA product, maybe there is some hope.

Other Thoughts: I used the Ubuntu ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-i386.iso
live CD and the touch screen does not work.

I installed Fedora Core 16 or Fedora Core 17 and thus far it does not work.
If you are using this with a linux system, you will have days of effort to get it working.
There was a posting that claimed it worked with ubuntu-12.04.1, so I thought it would
work. I have played with most of the distributions and Xwindows configurations and this
seems to be quite a challenge and time consuming operations.

1 out of 5 eggsDead in 30 days. HP=FAIL

Pros: I've had it for near a month now, and it remains a functional monitor

Cons: TouchScreen will not function after nearly one month of use.

Other Thoughts: No luck with HP either. Total waste of money and time.

4 out of 5 eggsvery good

Pros: if you need a touchscreen, buy this one w/o exitation . Good brand, cheap, in a word works well. No extra drivers needed in windows 7 as OS will download them automatically upon first windows update. Needs calibration in Win7. VERY SATISFIED.

Cons: simply, none.

Other Thoughts: HP should include a HDMI port, and replace DVI.

5 out of 5 eggsvery nice monitor

Pros: out of the box and set up in 10 minutes, hp software allows all basic touch functions with xp, I have software that functions best with a touchscreen for speed and this works fine, just have to get used to the proper tap

Cons: screen is shiny glass, hard to get used to from the standard type screen

Other Thoughts: have not tried speakers

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor

Pros: Excellent touch response (note that the response is on lift not touch) but that is easily learned. Good color, great size, brightness and everything is as advertised! Doesn't show a ton of fingerprints but does clean easy for what it does show

Cons: None that I have noticed so far

Other Thoughts: We use it for theater production and it is great for playing our sound and video cues!

4 out of 5 eggsMonitor Great, Sound not so much

Pros: This HP monitor works great out of the box. 2 months and no issuses so far. Colors are vivid and contrast is nice. Very senseitive with all functions.

Cons: The sound is terrible. Tinny at best with no real volume. There is no bass. Sounds like Mono speakers. I guess it's a tradeoff thing for having the touchscreen. Add on speakers are a must with this.

Other Thoughts: HP Put better speakers in this unit. It should at least sound like it's worth what you payed for it

1 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted

Pros: Nice monitor while it worked

Cons: Went up in a puff of smoke 5 months after I purchased this for a customer. NewEggs 30 day replacement warranty doesn't help me, or the customer.

Not much chance of HP doing anything about it.

The customer and I am both out of luck. I'll lose a good customer over this one.

Other Thoughts: Since HP announced last week that it's leaving the PC marking I can't see buying HP products anymore. Can't trust that there will be any kind of warranty.
