5 out of 5 eggsGorgeous Display

Pros: I bought this monitor at Best Buy because out of all the ones on display, it was the most clear. You even get it cheaper here on New Egg, when it's in stock. There's a reason it's in high demand. It's without a doubt the best monitor I've ever had and the colors are vivid. For the price, size, color and contrast it can't be be beat right now.

Cons: I had one dead pixel, but that happens. Not that big of a deal and it's seriously not worth taking back.

Other Thoughts: If it's still sold out here, you might check your local Best Buy for a similar HP. That way you don't have to wait impatiently for the shipping :p

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy!

Pros: HDMI output and built-in sound gets two thumbs up from me. I bought an HP desktop and the moniter came a week early, so I had nothing to do with it but hook up my xbox and enjoy the full 1080p high definition. There's no backlight bleed at all, and the whole moniter itself is so sleek. Obviously, the sound isn't as great as it would be from a computer, but that's a given. After playing a game for a while, however, you quickly get accustomed to it, and then it doesn't even sound bad. This is a great monitor; large, sturdy, and has perfect picture.

Also, it comes with both VGA and DVI cables, which is always a good thing.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I had bought an Acer 21.5" monitor a couple months ago, but this one looks so much bigger! It's super flat and glossy, which gives it an amazing look.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost as nice as the Apple Cinema display

Pros: Everyone loves this monitor. As long as there are no bright light sources behind you or you are in a darker room this is the next best monitor next to the Apple Cinema display. The glossy screen displays color photos and videos excellently. If you can deal with the glossy screen that has coatings to reduce reflections then this or the HP 2310m are great monitors. Thirty-two of these have been in service here since September. We don't use the built-in speakers. This model has both the smallest pixels and the most even lighting of all similar HP LCD monitors with model numbers ending with "m". Its brother, the 2310m, has the same high pixel resolution but noticeable excess lighting around the screen edges in a dark room. (Stay away from larger screen sizes with model numbers ending in "m", the pixels are too large.

Cons: Touching the monitor near the power button will usually turn off the screen.

Other Thoughts: Of the 32 installed, 3 have had to be returned to HP for warranty replacement. Each replacement required a 75 minute phone call to the outsourced HP support department in India which involves answering a maze of scripted questions from at least two people. I have learned the drill. HP covered the complete cost, including shipping both ways, for the replacements and will continue to replace broken monitors for one year if you bought it brand new. One replacement was itself defective and had to be replaced which required another 75 minute phone call to HP support. One would not show anything on the screen and two had flaky control buttons under the screen. The rest are working great everyday. After all my calls to HP support I have become a big fan of the TV show Outsourced. The HP support people in India are very nice. Be be certain your phone battery is fully charged before you call for help.

3 out of 5 eggsAfter Thoughts

Pros: After a few months, its still working.

Cheap, okay color, nice design.

Cons: -Faulty button is still annoying, have to press so hard the entire monitor lifts up about 3 inches off the desk.

-Contrast constantly resets itself to 32 when switching sources, or power is reset. Have to manually adjust back to 70 range every time. (Made sure I don't have dynamic contrast or any other option that would cause this on)

-Switching sources is really sluggish, if you plan to switch sources ALOT avoid this. 10-20 seconds of black empty screen between switches

-Bleed is still there along bottom and top edges, but only really a problem if watching movies with bars, or alot of dark scenes.

-Made popping sounds (didnt sound like speakers) once when trying to switch to hdmi source and had a scrambled picture, powered down and turned on again, was okay after, still popping noises from electronics aren't reassuring.

Other Thoughts: Looks good for the price, but problems with it would definitely keep me from buying another of the same model if I wanted to multi monitor down the road.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor!

Pros: Couldn't be happier. Great color, and screen density (resolution/size). Have four in operation in the office, all with great results.

Cons: Would benefit from a USB hub.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet

Pros: Amazing colors, nice 1080p monitor. Love HP monitors, and in my opinion they are worth the price.

Cons: None, functionally.

Other Thoughts: Impossible to find correct info on this monitor.

Everywhere I looked it mentioned this monitor has a pixel pitch of 476.64 x 268.11mm, which seemed a bit odd to me. I called HP, but they didn't seem to know about their own products. It also mentions everywhere that the monitor is 2.5ms response rate, when in reality, it is really 2.5ms GtG, with a 5ms regular response rate.

Even with all the misinformation, it is an awesome monitor and I have had no functional problems with it. As an fyi, I do not use the speakers so I cannot comment on that.

3 out of 5 eggs2210m Review

Pros: -Great Color
-Nice Design
-Glossy (personal preference)
-Decent Response time
-Price

Cons: -Back Light Bleed around all edges
-Faulty Menu Button

Other Thoughts: Bleed:
Unboxing the monitor left me in awe of its simple but sexy design. Got it set up colors looked great, but then cue the dark scene in a movie and I was left with a feeling of "NOOOO!" Everything had been sunshine and daisies until I noticed the backlight bleed. Its not huge in size (about a fingers thickness all around the edge) but its a fairly strong bleed so it contrasts quite noticeably along side the deep blacks and gets really annoying if the dark scene is more than a few seconds long.

Faulty Button:
Thinking that I could lower the brightness to maybe lessen how noticeable the bleed was, I entered the menu but was left further saddened. Turns out all the buttons work well except the - (lower) button. It has to be pressed with alot more force than the other buttons which just have to be pressed until they make a clicky sound. I'm worried that it will stop working all together at some point with the pressure that needs to be applied to it. Considering trying to RMA it

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

Pros: Highest resolution available
Sharp, clear image
Great brightness and bright/dark contrast
Built-speakers appear great to me (not an audio expert, but a normal gamer)

Cons: Nothing I'm aware of so far.

Other Thoughts: When I bought this monitor on HP official site, there was only one review on the HP site and no review on any other sites. The only review back then on the HP site is a 1-star review, complaining about hardware detection problem. This 1-star review really got me nervous. However, I really needed a HD monitor for my recently bought xbox 360 and decided to trust HP (I believed that the 1-star reviewer might've just got a broken one unluckily) and give a shot to this monitor with such good advertised stats.

It turns out that this monitor is great. I received the monitor 2 weeks ago, and waited until now to write a review just because I want to be fair and want to try it for a period of time. Now I want you guys to know that, if you want a monitor with maxed out resolution and great visual effects, and at the same time want to save money as much as possible. This is the right one for you.
