5 out of 5 eggsThey are the Same!

Pros: I just called HP Small Business Sales in an attempt to resolve the price difference between the two versions of this monitor (VM626A4#ABA and VM626A8#ABA). HP told me the two versions are the exact same monitor--the differing part numbers reflect the promotion price difference only. I placed an order (elsewhere, less expensive, with no shipping charge--sorry New Egg) today.

Cons: na

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price, Great Monitor

Pros: Excellent value. I've purchased 3 for clients that do CAD and they're demanding - so if they like it, home users should too!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The 2 models listed on Newegg are identical, the cheaper one is the HP "smart buy" which is a time-limited promo.

5 out of 5 eggsIPS panel under $300, owned for a FULL YEAR

Pros: I already wrote a long review elsewhere b/c I was one of the first people to grab this model back in Summer2010, and Newegg didn't have it. Now I am back to buy 2nd unit.
It's an IPS, and there's a version under $280 as of today, even $260 - Newegg has both it seems, not sure what's going on? ZR22W is at Newegg at 2 different prices (one regular, pne promo).
Fantastic IPS display using LG panel with great firmware, and Base/Stand - best I ever had. It's not slim, it's not LED - using traditional CCFL backlight nstead but guess what?! CCFL is what us professionals prefer anyway! LED can flicker at low brightness levels, this CCFL is rock solid.
You can even turn off PowerLED - it's not obnoxious even when on, as on some cheap/low-end displays, BUT you can even disable it completely, nice!.
NEW "DISPLAY PORT" (DP) - better than HDMI, also DVI-D as usual (as of built-in USB, I don't care; I do care about DP however). As expected from IPS panel - no color shifting, quality panel.

Cons: No real Cons, just beware there're 2 diff. versions of same ZR22W floating around, search Newegg & see 2 come up. maybe one is LED, another is CCFL? I chose CCFL last year on purpose. I know it may sound "anti-environmental" since CCFL bulbs pollute when discarded into trash after say 5 years (?), but us professionals don't buy LED fad, we still often prefder CFCFL backlight and so beware which one of the 2 models of ZR22W you buy.

Other Thoughts: If you're in CAD/Engineering, Photography, GraphicsDesign, etc. or just appreaciate high-end find stuff but cannot afford Eizo's $2000+ monitors, get this HP. Even if you can afford $2000 - HP also offers one model, their best RGB IPS panel, but that's another subject. This posting is about ZR22W.
