4 out of 5 eggsGood Monitor, Bad Shipping

Pros: Good monitor, good price. Gaming looks great! No complaints about the monitor at all.

Cons: BEWARE of OnTrac Shipping! This is the first time I have dealt with OnTrac Shipping from NewEgg. I came home from work to find my $300 monitor lying on top of the hedge, in front of my apartment complex, outside in the open!! Wow Really? I live in a kinda shadey neighborhood, and I'm shocked that it didn't get stolen, as it sat on the hedge for 3.5 hours.

If OnTrac is going to be delievering my expensive NewEgg items now, I may shop elsewhere, because my experience with OnTrac is unacceptable.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet!

Pros: True PnP with DVI, HDMI - no adjustments required
Super bright whites, excellent contrast
Large enough to compensate for my rapidly deteriorating eyesight
Eggcelent price point ($250)

Cons: None, really. Frame is a fingerprint magnet but is easily cleaned & polished with microfiber cloth.

Other Thoughts: First Newegg order after relocating from SoCal to NY. Figured UPS delivery would be protracted due to current distance from City of Industry (2800 mi). NOT!
Delivered second-day after order placed (from Edison, New Jerkey). Newegg's Order Fulfillment cannot be beat!

5 out of 5 eggsEveryday Eye Candy

Pros: -Rich, accurate colors with great black level.

-VERY bright, turned in down to 60 and that's the only adjustment I needed to make.

-Lots of bang for the buck.

-Noiseless, completely silent external power supply... easy and cheap to replace should it fail.

-Thin and light.

Cons: Glossy... really glossy but at least no one is going to be able to sneak up from from behind and attack you.

Other Thoughts: My old 20" looks small now, yes size does matter.

I got the 1yr extended warranty for peace of mind... it's cheap so why not.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat monitor

Pros: *Super low energy consumption
*Doesn't get HOT like 90% of the LCD monitors i've owned
*5 presets to easily switch picture quality with the push of a button on the front (movies, reading text, gaming, etc)
*Extremely lightweight...with a super flexible bracket
*Beautiful color reproduction

Cons: *Some of the presets might need a little adjusting...some video games that I play don't really look nice with the 'gaming' profile...too sharp, hard lines, too bright with over animated crispiness and such.
*Glossy black finish means dust and fingerprints all over the place...if you're a wanted criminal don't touch it.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great monitor that I'm very happy with. I would not pay full retail for this. It's about $399 right now...I bought mine with a shell shocker deal for $279...and I think that's a great price point for it.

5 out of 5 eggsUse With PS3

Pros: I needed something for gaming with my ps3. I've searched and searched for years to no avail. Until one day I ran into one of these at office max but it was the 25 inch version I think. I ended up buying the 27 inch version for my self which is perfect for my gaming tastes. First off I immediately fell in love with the design. It is very slim and has a nice smooth design. The picture quality is AWESOME for being a computer monitor for both movies and my playstation games. The best feature IMO is there is no gaming lag! What so ever! It's super fast! That is huge for me being that I've tried gaming on many TVs that lag and cause me to play worse. I think gaming on computer monitors is way better because they are so much faster than TVs. Great size, awesome picture quality and fast.

Cons: The only thing I could say is that I wish I could get a bigger one of these!

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME

Pros: This thing is great and really pops. I have always liked the HP monitors with the glossy finish

Cons: It does have the glossy finish so it does have glare if you are in a bright room.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperior Image Quality

Pros: Glossy front bring you sharp and clean view, best for multimedia play as well as text task. High quality image view as Apple cinema while comparing with semi gloss samsung monitor. $100 more if you want to get Samsung glossy one.

Cons: Not a super perfect on contrast and respond time but, led has bright enough which you can adjust. No problem for everyday use for regular users.

1 out of 5 eggshorrible warranty service.only 1 year warranty on hp monitors!

Pros: beautiful screen when it worked.but do not buy from this company because they only want to give you a 1 year warranty and hope you spend more money to buy their extended warranty.the same warranty you will get form most other monitor companies.3 year..not 1 year.

Cons: i bought the monitor on 4/11/2011.the dvi port and the hdmi port quit working.i have tried it with different cables and another monitor hooked up to my gtx 690.the other monitor works with the digital but the 27" hp does will only work as an anolog remember that the warranty is only 1 year!most monitor companies give you a 3 year warranty.not hp.they really really want to sell you their extended seems that the digital mainboard is out.i paid almost 400 bucks for this and no warranty support for a bad is barely out of a 1 year warranty.all they wanted to do was sell me another monitor of the same for almost 75 bucks more than my local computer store sells this same monitor for.or even newegg here sells it for less than would think that a company of this caliber might work out something with you and support their product for more than 1 year.4 months over a 1 year warranty is not enough when it is defective.would not recommend ever buying

Other Thoughts: buy from a company with a good warranty not hp.why should we only get a 1 year warranty on a high end product that is used quite a bit?their ploy is to only sell you an extended warranty when other companies already give you a 3 year warranty on their product.

5 out of 5 eggsReplacement Restores My Faith In HP Product Quality

Pros: - High Brightness and Contrast
- Good black levels (I own a Panasonic plasma television, so I know good black levels when I see them)
- Was skeptical that 1920x1080 was sufficient for a 27", but pixel pitch is enough to prevent blurring or loss of definition when stretching 1080p to this size.
- Glossy screen for qualitative effect on contrast and color saturation -- you either love it or hate it. I personally love it.
- Extremely lightweight
- Quick startup/shutdown times
- No ghosting or screen tearing (unlike old CCFL models)

Cons: Only including these to be thorough:
- No adjustable height (not a problem for me, I'm relatively short)
- No VESA mounts (also not a problem for me, as I have no intention of mounting, but everyone should be aware before purchasing.
- Viewing angles are limited, as with any TN panel, resulting in a reddish tinge if viewed off-center
- Do not buy this screen if you work in an environment with a strong light behind you, as you WILL have glare
- AC adapter cord to power supply is a tad short.

Additional Comment:
I bought an HP 2007w (21") about 6 years back that is still operational today. It set the standard for picture quality, and had only minor issues with screen tearing that was solved by forcing V-Sync, and with triple buffering, my frame rates were acceptable. However, I wanted to upgrade the size and resolution of my monitor, so I bought an HP 2709w (27") about 18 months ago. I was very happy with the purchase, as it performed exactly like my 2007w.

Other Thoughts: Cont'd:
However, just after the standard HP warranty expired, I began experiencing the screen flickering issue that was common with these monitors. HP refused to fix it, and a third party repair shop quoted half the price of the monitor for the repair! I contacted the original reseller, and they were nice enough to issue a partial credit towards a new monitor because of my history with them. I was hesitant to purchase another HP product after my luck with the 2709, but I pulled the trigger because there are very few glossy monitors on the market, especially at this size, and the unit had received almost universally positive reviews. I cannot speak to the reliability yet (as I've only owned it for about 6 months), but so far I am very satisfied with the overall quality of the product, and purchased a third party warranty just in case. I highly advise everyone to do the same, as HP's support is abysmal (outsourced), almost worthy of docking a star. Yet, the working unit is superb!

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Nice!!

Pros: Thin, great picture, color right out of the box, low power consumption, large screen(obviously). Never been a huge fan of HP computers, but they really do make an excellent monitor!! Got this baby on sale for $279.

Cons: Looking at it straight on is perfect, but from other angles, it puts off a high glossy way I can describe it. As others have said, this screen is highly reflective, as I have a sliding glass door right behind my computer desk.

Other Thoughts: Have this hooked up to my mid 2011 Mac Mini via HDMI, and this monitor was recognized immediately. Despite the cons, this is an excellent monitor, and would have been content if I paid full retail. There's not a lot of bells and whistles, but it is definitely worth the money, especially what I paid for it. Definitely the best in this price range.
