5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great 24" monitor. Crisp resolution up to 1920x1200. The base supports height adjustments, left to right swivel, and portrait/landscape swivel. The LED backlighting keeps this monitor running cool even when in use all day. I am very pleased with this monitor. A great value for the money.

Cons: N/A

5 out of 5 eggsVery Pleased, Slightly Expensive

Pros: - good quality image
- 16x10 aspect ratio
- no noticeable lag/ghosting
- audio switching (with both analog and digital out)
- easy & convenient menus

Cons: - bad audio DAC
- only coax digital out (optical seems much more common)
- pass-thru cord organizer

Other Thoughts: I'm not a pro by any means so I can't give great detail about the image quality, although even with the high (albeit uninformed) expectations I had buying a pro-ish product, I was still blown away when I first turned it on.

I use it primarily as a desktop pc monitor, and also for playing my XB1, using the monitor to switch both audio and video between the two. This made the audio out from displayport/hdmi functionality key to my buying decision. This works well, only the sound quality is quite bad. I've only used the analog out to this point, I plan to try the digital out, and I expect that will be better, as I suspect they used a cheap DAC, which won't be needed when passing through digital audio.

The only other issue with using the audio out, is the audio turns off when you turn the monitor off, or when it goes to sleep when your PC is idle. Meaning you can't play music on your PC and turn off the monitor to save power/darken the room.

As I'm using it for both PC and Console gaming, I was concerned about lag/ghosting. I haven't done any detailed analysis or put my face up to the screen to look for it or anything, but during normal Titanfall play I didn't notice anything of the sort, so if there is ghosting/lag, it's certainly not going to handicap you.

My last thought is pretty picky, but I bought I'd mention it in case it's helpful to anyone else. I use the PC at my desk, and to play XB1 I turn it around 180 degrees to sit on the couch. Because the cord organizer has you pass the cords through the middle of the stand, when it turn it around, it really makes a mess of the cords. I Would have preferred something on the back of, or either side of the pedestal, as my previous monitor had.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent workstation display

Pros: clean display. Very good resolution. Easy standard access to controls. No funny business. Plug and play. No long term issues, screens are bright. This has become our standard buy.

Cons: No problems whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: We have bought 6 of these over the past year for engineering. All HP Z series workstations. The screens are great with Solidworks, Altium, PADs. No issues.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing :)

Pros: The colors and contrast on this monitor are stellar and accurate. As someone who edits photos and does graphics design, being able to see all shades of white and black up to the very ends is very important.

The 1920x1200 resolution grants more vertical real estate than standard 1080p displays, allowing more room to work in Photoshop and other software that requires a lot of screen space. The refresh speed in gaming is on par with TN panels I've used before.

Monitors come on quite quick, so you can get right to the action. You don't completely miss your POST during bootup, either!

If I ever needed to rotate my screens, these have the ability to do so... in addition to very flexible rotation and height adjustment. :)

Cons: Playing a game or watching a video that's extremely dark can be sometimes a little difficult, because there's a slight haze of light bleeding through. It's not really severe enough to bother me, however. Apparently, this is a common thing with IPS panels in general, not a fault of this screen.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these. Their colors and calibration are identical, and I see no flaws between the two. I have a huge dual monitor desktop space to work in because of these beautiful things.

5 out of 5 eggsHP's best product

Pros: These monitors are amazing. 1920x1200 resolution is wonderful, 24" size is perfect, the stand is very robust and adjustable, it has many inputs and also has cables for all of them too (VGA, DP, DVI)... 0 dead pixels on both purchased. IPS panel is so much better than TN panel most monitors have.

Cons: None. Worth every penny!

Other Thoughts: I can say without a doubt this is the best HP product I've ever used. HP makes horrible laptops but this professional quality monitor is absolutely fantastic.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Easy to assemble and stand works well. So far performance as been great for both general computing and for games (tested primarily with BF3). Very sharp image and very good colors. Price to quality ratio seems to be in a sweet spot. Excellent all around performance and no dead pixels.

Cons: Some slight back light bleeding near corners at high brightness with dark backgrounds. Minor and I usually only notice it while booting up on a black screen.

Other Thoughts: This replaced a HP LP 2065 purchased in 2006 that was still performing perfectly, but I was desiring a 16x9 or 16x10 at home. I looked hard at other brands (primarily at Samsung and Asus), and nothing struck me as the ideal monitor without spending quite a bit more money. When I revisited HP, this model jumped out and I am glad I went for it. It seems to have all of the quality of the earlier model and for the performance has been excellent so far.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good Monitor

Pros: 1920X1200 resolution = more vertical space, I calibrated the monitor using my X-Rite. The factory calibration out the box is very good so if you don't have a calibration device you will be fine. Professional looking and the menu system is very easy to use. I use to use HP monitors at work, I am graphic artist/retoucher and HP and Dell are the main monitors we use at work. Over all this is a very good monitor, all most perfect.

Cons: Monitor came with one dead pixel hence the 4 stars, would have been 5 stars if it didn't have the one dead pixel. I decide to keep the monitor because the dead pixel is on the lower right side of the monitor and doesn't brother me, you really don't notice it, only if you're looking for it.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice monitor

Pros: Easy to assemble, just snap the base onto the monitor.
To adjust height, first push DOWN to unlock the stand, then push button on stand in while pulling up on handle on top rear of monitor. Plug in cables and turn on power.

Cons: Warranty and other info all came in Spanish. No English documentation.

5 out of 5 eggsDon't be Lured by 1920x1080...1920x1200 is the way to go!

Pros: Used this monitor for a recent PC build...was used as an upgrade to an HP LP2065 which is a very nice IPS panel with excellent colors, viewing angle and sharpness. The ZR2440w is better in every regard and I'm very pleased with the 1920x1200 resolution. Internet and work tasks look better on 1920x1200 with less vertical scrolling needed than 1920x1080. Games look great, no ghosting or other issues. It may not have the crazy ms specs of some gaming marketed monitors...but you won't need gets the job done. Some top an bottom letterboxing will occur when watching 16:9 content...but no problem at all..looks nice.

Cons: Some corner backlight bleed seen particularly at higher brightness levels. At around 30-35% backlight (where it should be) this is a very minor concern even with black backgrounds.

Other Thoughts: I resisted moving from standard 1600x1200 for sometime. This monitor has made my shift to widescreen format painless

5 out of 5 eggsCheapest decent IPS monitor

Pros: Cheap IPS monitor, great for photo/video enthusiasts on a budget.

Cons: I don't have anything bad to say about this monitor. It is great for what it is - a budget IPS monitor. I wish for 2 HDMI plugs and my Dell Ultrasharp series monitor at work renders text sharper but it it may be just configured differently. It's a solid offering and if you keep your expectations reasonable it won't disappoint.

Other Thoughts: I am getting serious about photography and I realized I won't get anywhere without a calibrated monitor. TFT technology (the majority of LCD screens) can not display true color. I was editing pictures at home on a TFT monitor, posting them online and then the next day I would look at them in horror at work on my IPS monitor. My home TFT monitor just wouldn't let itself to manual calibration. I considered buying a calibration tool but they go for at least $100. I figured I should buy a good monitor instead and do manual calibration.

After some research I found out HP and Dell offer budget IPS monitors. This HP monitor was cheaper and had more features than the current Dell offerings but my Dell Ultrasharp at work may look a bit better. I can't decide if it's just the room light or configuration or a better quality panel. In any case my pictures great on both monitors and most importantly - they look the way I intended them to.

I'm happy with this purchase, I recommend it.
