5 out of 5 eggsSweet Monitor! Just use a Displayport Source...

Pros: Viewing angles. Matte. Brightness. Colors. Thinness. Looks. Weight. Stability. Stays cool (small external power brick).

This monitor is fantastic. It's quite small and minimalistic, and its images are great! Even with the brightness turned up all the way the black levels very dark. No complaints here. Just know what you're getting before buying and learn from others who have it.

Cons: Displayport only. No tilt (height is not applicable here) adjustability (the flip side is that it can't be tipped over). Power and displayport ports are on the side (included power connector IS right-angled though). No OSD menu (limited to power and brightness buttons). This isn't the most versatile monitor in the world by far...

Does not come with "Jack Black" as the newegg description says. Ha ha... ;P -THAT would be awesome...

Other Thoughts: USE A DISPLAYPORT SOURCE. USE A DISPLAYPORT SOURCE.

I originally bought this to use at work with a ~2006 Mac Pro with DVI outs on the video card. I bought the highly rated Power Color DVI<--->Displayport Active Adaptor but it didn't work. I bought a cheapo PC video card with a DP out and now I use this monitor at home and it's bloody great. I also plugged it into my HP 8560w Elitebook and it worked no problem. What really would serve it justice is being placed on a desk with the back facing towards people because it's a looker and a half.

I'm not sure why HP didn't build the ports in the area inside of the hinge, as that's the only bulge and it may have been more elegant. The right-angled power connector helps, but I'm not sure if there are right-angled displayport cords. Even with a regular displayport cord, it's not really that bad...

1 out of 5 eggsCool, Thin, non-functional

Pros: SLIM - very thin, sleek, brushed aluminum back - very sharp

Cons: Display port ONLY - and the connector is on the lower left out edge; yes on the SIDE of the unit

Other Thoughts: bought this to go with an HP Folio - going for the minimalist desktop experience. Could not find a cable other than native DP to DP that would get a signal to it, HDMI to DP did not work for me. Major killjoy for me was the side / edge input location; could not find a slim right angle DisplayPort adapter to make it work. Disappointed.
