5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Accurate color balance. Low screen glare. Very bright whites. Good blacks. Very stable stand. 90 degree rotate works well an it's still as stable. The viewable screen area goes right to the edge. USB ports on the bottom are great because my PC is under the desk. Trackball and keyboard connect through monitor giving me more mobility w/ wired devices.

Cons: These are small issues. The frame is about 3/4 inch on 3 sides and 1 inch on bottom. I wish it was narrower. When raising monitor to swivel screen, the arm has just two settings. It locks in place in the higher setting for using the monitor vertically. In this high position you can use it vertically or horizontally. It would be nice if it could be positioned at any height. I use it horizontally but would like it to be adjustable to a few inches higher.

Other Thoughts: I like chicken enchiladas.

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitor

Pros: Zero bad pixels, zero stuck pixels. Lots of pixels for real estate. Big. I'm used to HP's 24" so this was a small and worthwhile improvement.

Affordable vs. the alternatives.

Unlike Samsung, HP actually knows how to develop firmware that works with Apple's display port - that's a huge plus. I have both a PC and a MacMini plugged into this monitor and another so that both computers can access both monitors for maximum display options.

For those with newer Mac Mini's with the Mini Display Port, you'll need a Mini to Full size Display Port cable. This one works: NewEgg Item#: N82E16812705060 This monitor uses a Full Size Display Port and the included Full-to-full cable isn't going to fit the Mac Mini. Using that mini-to-full Display Port cable WILL enable the Mac Mini to drive this monitor at maximum resolution. Yummy!

Yes, as others reported, this display lacks OSD adjustment buttons. The only 4 buttons are source, brightness -/+, power. I'm putting this in the "Pros" category because I actually prefer this simplified button option. I never use all those other buttons that other displays offer and now I don't have to worry about pressing the wrong button and trying to figure out how to get out of that mode. Good job HP!

Fewer inputs is also in the "Pros" because I don't like having to cycle through unused connections.

HP provides DVI & Full-size Display Port cables, even though for me I couldn't use the full size DP cable because the Mac Mini uses the mini version. Still, good for HP to try.

The display and stand are pretty beefy, not cheap plastic that's so common with most other displays.

Cons: Anti-glare coating. I prefer my 24" HP glossy coating to this one. It's hard to explain, but the anti-glare coating reduces the contrast as it washes out the colors. While this monitor is cheaper than alternatives, it's still fairly expensive and I wish the quality was better - which it would be if it had a glossy face.

I wish there was some sort of indication where the brightness was at, some sort of scale from 1 to 10? The brightness -/+ buttons have to be held down quite some time or pressed many times to see any significant change in brightness. While that's good to have such fine granularity, I have no idea where I'm at in that scale from min to max.

The HP-provided DVI cable is bulky, and it attaches to the bottom (from behind). In fact, since all of the attached cables drop downward I see lots of wires - not hidden. The DVI in particular hits the table, preventing me from lowering the monitor all the way down.

Other Thoughts: I planned on getting Apple's 27" LED Cinema Display, same size and resolution (glossy - preferred) but I wanted to save $200 - $300, so I got this one. The 30" displays were also tempting but they run almost twice the cost of this, but are 1600 pixels tall instead of 1440 tall. Those extra 10 percent worth of pixels will be missed.

Overall I think I'm happy with this purchase. I think I'd be happier with Apple's display, but I didn't want to spend that much.

3 out of 5 eggsGood monitor, mostly

Pros: Nice big screen, bright, do not notice any ghosting or monitor lag with ME3 or XCOM.

The support line is great. Once you get in, they are quick to send a replacement out.

Cons: Well, I am currently on my 2nd replacement. The first monitor has some random color splashes and then died. The second one just shut off randomly until it didn't start back up. I am currently waiting on the third one.

Other Thoughts: My System:
Intel Core i5-3570K
BIOSTAR TZ77XE3
GeForce GTX 670 FTW
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 16GB 240-Pin DDR3

5 out of 5 eggsGood but Limited Inputs & Settings

Pros: -Limited inputs result in less lag
-Awesome resolution and viewing angles
-Good stand with decent adjustability

Cons: -limited inputs
-my pc won't enter the bios when I have it connected via DP, so I exclusively use dual-link DVI
-the power supply is electronically noisy, which can be heard in some high-end speakers

Other Thoughts: i7 3770 (non-K)
4*8gb ram @ 1600mhz, CAS 9
Sapphire OC 7850 2gb
Vertex 4 256gb

5 out of 5 eggsI'm embarrased to admit I like it better than the 27" 3D monitor I bought

Pros: The monitor is absolutely gorgeous! I bought two 27" monitors to replace my dead one. The other was a 27" 3D 1920x1080 monitor that worked with Nvidia graphics cards. I play Wow with two Nvidia GTX 580s in SLI. Between the two monitors, I have stopped playing on the 3d monitor and I play on this HP at 2560x1440. The tighter resolution simply looks better. The color accuracy of the IPS panel is better. I did not realize how off the colors were on the 3d monitor until I had these side by side. If you are thinking about this monitor, just get it, you won't be sorry.

Cons: Limited inputs to display port and dual-DVI.

Other Thoughts: For the price, I think this is the best monitor for games and photo editing. I have used this for a couple months now and have had no dead pixels, no issues with the anti-glare coating. I love this monitor!

4 out of 5 eggsSize finally in scale with the room

Pros: set up in a recording studio/control room environment.
The size is finally in scale with the distance between the "captains chair" and the screen.
The resolution is crisp and easy to read both text and graphic representations of waveforms and plug-in controls.

Cons: The whites are somewhat screaming.......sometimes hard to take for a long time siitting at the screen. Im sure some specific calibration software is in order to chill the whites out while keeping the vibrant colors this thing can give. Is it the anti-glare coating ?

Other Thoughts: I had to use the dvi cables that came included....wouldn't work with the existing cable

5 out of 5 eggsMy precioussssssss

Pros: Absolutely 100% the best monitor I've ever laid eyes on. Takes a hell of a graphics card to push games at 2560x1440, but it's totally worth the investment. Couple this with a Radeon HD 7870 like I did and you've got an outstanding setup. I can't wait to double down and run two of these monitors with a Crossfire 7870 setup! Seriously though I act like Golem when I see this monitor.

Cons: None at all, it's truly perfect. Even the price is awesome.

5 out of 5 eggsCould not be happier

Pros: No dead pixels, excellent brightness, and a great price. This monitor blows my mind.

Cons: Only has DVI and DisplayPort, but really any graphics card these days is capable of one of those so it's a non-issue.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely buy this monitor again. I generally don't write any reviews but this thing is just incredible.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor, mostly

Pros: Great screen, beautiful quality, easy to set up and get going. Good warranty procedure. Too bad I couldn't do an advance exchange, though.

Cons: no adjustments at all, only two inputs, the buttons on the front seem to do nothing at all. The first one I got died in 10 days, no advance exchange offered, had to do without my new monitor for over a week.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: Very nice monitors. Clear, sharp, bright. Included dual-link DVI cable works as expected. Plug and play with Linux and Nvidia video. Upgraded from a pair of 1920x1200 monitors to a pair of these. Very easy install, extra resolution is definitely noticeable and useful.

Cons: No OSD to configure the monitor. All you get is +/- buttons to adjust brightness. As long as you don't want to adjust anything (I didn't) this is fine. It might be an issue if you wanted to adjust color balance, etc. like you normally can with the OSD menu on just about every other monitor made in the last decade.
