4 out of 5 eggsGreat docking solution, once you work out the kinks

Pros: We purchased 6 of these as a docking option for our new order of HP ultrabooks and, possibly, for our Macs. While I only had limited success with the Macs, once I tweaked some of the driver settings, the Windows 7/8 PC's worked like champs.

Works as advertised for the most part. You plug it in, install the drivers from the monitor's onboard drive, and go... as far as video and the USB hub are concerned.

Dock connection works over USB 2 as well.
Monitor is solid, good color, easy to view.
USB hub and VGA port works for Macs as well.
Laptop bay at the bottom helps with desktop real estate.
Network adapter is solid, possibly needing tweaks (see the Cons).

Great dock AND monitor replacement option for the price of an enterprise class snap-in dock.

Cons: At first I couldn't get the ethernet port to work for any Windows 7/8 build. The fix was to have the network adapter settings tweaked in the device properties. The setting for USB bandwidth needed to be set from "Maximum" to "Shared". After that, everything worked great. I did lose a measure of sanity in the process though. ;)

The audio ports like to set themselves as the defaults for Win 7/8 too. While that's expected for most docks, not all of my laptop people have external speakers, so look out for that.

I was also hoping that I could get it going for Macs (running 10.8.1) as a bonus since the chipset manufacturer supports them, but so far I've had no luck getting video or network from the USB connection. BAH! I guess I'll wait for that Belkin vaporware Thunderbolt dock...

Other Thoughts: After figuring out the network issue, my people here are happy and love the extra monitor. After having them in use for almost 2 months now, I haven't heard a single complaint... Except from the Mac people. Because all they get is the $1000 option from Apple.
