5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!!

Pros: Great price for a 16:10, 24", 1920x1200 monitor, as many previous reviews have mentioned. Picture quality looks wonderful, large 24" screen is great for gaming, and stand is extremely adjustable and stable. Most people have to buy a separate mount to get this level of adjustability. Overall quality is outstanding. Touch buttons on the front are an added perk that makes the quality go up a few notches, for me personally.

Cons: none so far, unless you want to consider weight... pretty hefty monitor weighing in between 25 - 30 lbs!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal

Pros: Anyone looking for a 1920x1200 will quickly see: they are tough to find! Doubt you'll find one cheaper than this. Good picture quality, plenty bright. The pedestal is more stable than the picture makes it look. Viewing angle is easy to adjust. I just ordered a 2nd.

Cons: As stated in other reviews, the bezel is shiny and gives a slight reflection around perimeter. But it's such a nit! Doesn't bother me at all. The onscreen controls are pretty basic; some controls are greyed out as if reserved for a higher model. I have not tried the software; maybe that allows you access to other controls. I also miss having dedicated brightness control buttons (on the frame). But I wonder if anyone makes that anymore.

Other Thoughts: Disclaimer: I'm not a gamer or big video watcher. I just do boring computer stuff. But IMO this is an unbeatable deal for the $$.

2 out of 5 eggsKeep your box

Pros: Clarity, size and resolution

Cons: 2 monitors, one backlight died in two weeks.

Other Thoughts: I've spent tens of thousands of dollars at newegg over the years, just because I threw away the original box, they won't take back the monitor for replacement. They won't have to worry about future confrontations with me.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for the price

Pros: Quailty 1900x1200 at a good price point. Excellent color, contrast, and good black level for the price. Viewing angle is better than I expected for a non-IPS LCD. Nice controls on the front panel rather than others that require reaching under the bezel. Solid stand offers tilt, heigh, pivot. Seems well built.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: When I first installed it the black level was very red even on the Cool preset, and I thought it might be defective. Then I went into the menu, select Color and ran Auto Color and it looks perfect now. Also found I could improve the image a bit by running the Windows 7 Clearfonts utility.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor for the money

Pros: For a unit that is native 1920x1200, this puppy is a great bang for the buck. It offers an extra 120 lines of desktop real estate on the vertical over a full HD 16x9 for only a little more money. It might not sound like much, but I really like the 16x10 format when browsing the web or using office productivity software.

I haven’t had it long, but so far there are no surprises. The picture is crisp with about as dark a black as one could expect from a non-LED backlit LCD. No dead pixels or lines. The screen sits level with the base attached.

Speaking of the base, it is solid with enough mass to allow the screen to telescope up/down, tilt and rotate (up to 90º) without fear of tipping over. I’ve read many reviews of other monitors where the base is a weak point. That is decidedly not an issue with this monitor.

Cons: I think the two previous reviews accurately covered the cons. To me, they are minor at this price point.

The bezel thickness doesn’t bother me. It’s about the same as my 27” Planar, a little thicker than most.

The gloss black of the bezel does reflect the edges of the screen image. However, had I not read that reviewer’s comment, I probably would not have noticed this.

Other Thoughts: The next step up in size at this resolution or resolution at this size appears to be significant ($100 or more) as of this date. For that reason, I think this is a great combination of size and resolution.

4 out of 5 eggsGOOD PRICED 1920x1200

Pros: Great display image and color.

Cons: Thick bevel. It would be 5 stars if it was thinner.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent 1920x1200 barebones monitor

Pros: - 1920x1200, 16:10, the way a computer monitor should be
- Good value for the price
- Stand offers tilt as well as raise/lower
- Glossy black looks nice next to my Antec SOLO II
- Decent picture quality (see view angle con below)

Cons: - Glossy black bezel reflects the display a little too well in a dark room. It looks like the edge of your screen has some sort of weird artifact when what you're really seeing is a reflection. It's really noticeable when your window looks like it has two red "close" Xs in the upper right corner
- Narrow vertical viewing angle. Colors visibly shift just by leaning back in my chair. I use the HP LP2475w and HP ZR24w at work, which have MUCH wider viewing angles, but cost $100-$200 more
- The bezel feels a little cheap. When adjusting the tilt of the monitor, it'll creak and flex under your hands a bit

Other Thoughts: This monitor is for someone who wants 1920x1200 resolution at the best price, and is willing to give up some features to get that price. It doesn't have an HDMI connector or a USB hub. The adjustment menus are minimalist.

But if, like me, you don't NEED that USB hub, and a DVI cable is perfectly alright, and you can live with the view angle, then this monitor delivers a nice picture at a nice price.
