5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Monitor

Pros: This is a great monitor. Crisp image, everything you could want for quality in a sub-22" monitor. The only other thing I could ask for is a VESA mount, but that would have added to the thickness.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: The monitor only has a single displayport. As I knew this when I bought it I do not consider this a con, and definitely not worth dropping an egg over.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Monitor But.... Not For Everyone.

Pros: Less than $80 dollars. 22 inch with 1080p. Nice design and very elegant. Display port cable included. Again, nice monitor for an OFFICE but not good for other advanced users because it has only 16ms response time. Action movies or games not running very smooth.

Cons: Display Port only. No mounting holes, no way to mount this monitor. Not very fast when playing action movies or games. Basically, I only buy it because it was cheap and looks good. My HD6670 video card works fine with it. I bet many many people will return this monitor because they did not read the specs before buying.

Other Thoughts: This monitor is not for everyone. Please read before you buy because it is DISPLAY PORT ONLY. There is no way to buy adapters or cables or whatever to make this monitor work with low cost computers. You either need to have a desktop with a video card that has natively display port or a laptop with an included display port connection.

5 out of 5 eggsBrilliant

Pros: Super thin.

Full 1080p (1920*1080).

Great price when on sale.

Cons: DisplayPort only.

The designers making it so the power and data connections stick out from the side.

Limitations on stands and mounting.

Other Thoughts: Assuming you have a working DisplayPort output, this monitor is the bee's knees as a secondary display. I still rely on my aging HP w2207h as my main due to its better response time for gaming, but I almost want to buy two or 3 more of these L2201xes and stash them away for future use, since it doesn't look like they'll be making a similar display in the immediate future.

5 out of 5 eggsUltra slim and item as described

Pros: The screen is bright and resolution is awesome. No issues so far and it is working perfectly with my video card, which supports a DISPLAY PORT!

Cons: 16ms is and 5000:1 are not top of the line spec. for a monitor but for the size and price, I am totally fine with it.

Other Thoughts: For those that are giving this monitor a low rating because of the display port, please read the specification carefully before you purchase any item. It just tells people how careless you are.

1 out of 5 eggsBE CAREFUL

Pros: It looks good

Cons: This monitor ON?LY has a DisplayPort as video connection. You would be hard pressed to find a computer that support it. DO NOT think you can use an adapter to connect this monitor to a DVI or a HDMI. That will NOT work.

Other Thoughts: They really should make the limitation of only one display port more clear and what this means.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice monitor to accompany my HP Envy 15

Pros: Display port is much better than HDMI output
Great resolution and vibrant colors.
Matte finish which reduced 100% glare.
Completely replaces using the laptop screen for daily usage.
Heavy duty built aluminum back plate holding the LCD. Not flimsy plastic.

Cons: Slight heavy. No speakers
Wsh there more more controls to adjust screen colors/contrast.

Other Thoughts: I really enjoy my powerful laptop Envy 15 with 3720qm CPU + AMD 7750m chip + dual SSD + 16GB RAM + this L2291 monitor.
I don't use for gaming but I do use for photo/video and running multiple virtual machines.

Now I don't have to strain my eyes for long term use on the build-in display ( glare and small )

I have been using Display port to DVI adapters to my old LACIE graphic series monitor and it is pretty decent. However, the standard display port monitor seems to be sharper than via adapter ( could be because the resolution is higher on this monitor.)

This is my first Display port monitor and I really enjoy it ( especially for under $80 )

I also use HDMI output with HP HDMI to VGA adapter and it is horrible as the graphic looks dull and connection dectection is unpredictable. Sometimes gets the picture and sometimes it fails to output to display.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes 21 inch 1080 get any cheaper?

Pros: Works great on a computer with a display port out.

Cons: Does NOT work well on a computer without a display port out.

Other Thoughts: Liked this so much, I ordered another. Sharp, clear display, with a display response speed only a gamer would complain about.

5 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: I love the design. Simple to install. Simple to store. I bought
three of them. I am checking out the third one now. They seem
to be very green. What I mean what back light on full about
21. 2 watts. With the back light on low about 7.3 watts.
On a 21.5 inch monitor it don't get much sweeter than that.
These monitors are very thin, about 7/16" thick not counting
the stand. On the third monitor I have not found any stuck
or dead pixels. So color and consistency seems to be close
on all of the units. I'm not ready to call them a winner yet
but its looking that way. I bought two cards from newegg
too play them. I only used one so far and It has worked great. I have bought a lot of monitors, and some had to be
tweaked, not these. All I had to do is turn the back light
down. Easy done with the button on the units. One review
I read said the text was poor. What I seen on all three units
was very good text. The only thing I got that can beat them
is the two 24" dell IPS units I got from newegg. O and by the
way One of them cost more than What I payed for all three
of these. I feel I got a very good deal on these.

Cons: No audio out on monitor. When you set up a computer you
will want to remove the video drivers from your computer first
or like me maybe lose all your audio in your computer until
you do. You will need to learn a few things about display port
like me. It does not seem bad once you learn them.

Other Thoughts: Over all these seem to be a very good monitor for the money I paid. I had to pay extra for the cards however the money I saved on the price helped in doing that. I would recommend
these to anyone who either has display port or who is willing
to add it to your computer.

5 out of 5 eggsCaution

Pros: Nice Picture
Nice Resolution

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Yes, the monitor is DisplayPort only. Until after I purchased this monitor, I didn't know DisplayPort to HDMI (and DVI) conversion was usually unidirectional. If your computer outputs DisplayPort video it only takes a particular cable (<$20) to connect to an HDMI or DVI monitor. If your computer outputs HDMI or DVI you will need a (somewhat) uncommon converter ($100-200) to connect to a DisplayPort monitor. Therefore, if you have DisplayPort output on a computer, this monitor is great for the money. If you don't have DisplayPort output on your computer, don't bother...

5 out of 5 eggsNice Displayport LED

Pros: 16ms sounds slow but actually not that bad unless you're play very fast pace like need for speed racing game as center monitor. mine plug in as side 3x1 eyefinity it work perfectly with the display port cable.

Cons: People that complain about displayport only as con need to either upgrade their xp pc or learn how to read.

Other Thoughts: It's thin but bigger than I expected. Was hoping fit into laptop backpack for carrying, but the folding stand "stick out" in the back when folded. It's also impossible to remove, no visible screw. too slick
