1 out of 5 eggsAnother Green Tint Problem

This review is from: HP Pavilion 23xi Silver / Black 23" 7ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 10,000,000:1

Pros: Beautiful display and great design.

Cons: After owning this monitor for just over a year, I started experiencing the common "green tint" problem with this monitor. Very disappointing. There are so many posts in the forums on HP's website about this problem that most of them don't even have responses from HP technical support. Of course this all happens just right outside of my warranty...

Other Thoughts: HP really should do something about this and issue a recall. I know that I will not be purchasing another HP product because of this. Thanks HP.

2 out of 5 eggsPleased by the monitor, sad it didn't last long.

This review is from: HP Pavilion 23xi Silver / Black 23" 7ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 10,000,000:1

Pros: It has a crisp picture and easy to use UI.

Cons: It only lasted 1 year. Literally. 5 days out of warranty the right side of the screen went green.

Other Thoughts: Buy this at your own risk. I talked to customer support for an hour and they just wanted to give me a refurbished model for a ridiculous price. It really is too bad. I thought they were a different company but this proves me wrong.

1 out of 5 eggsBeautiful, while it lasted

This review is from: HP Pavilion 23xi Silver / Black 23" 7ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 10,000,000:1

Pros: Beautiful Colors, while it lasted

Cons: Monitor Died Shortly out of warranty period, similar to all other reports of failure here my left hand side of the screen began to show discoloration as well as heavy pixelation shortly outside of the warranty period. Unfortunately even though this is a known issue HP has not and will not likely issue a recall. This was 280 dollars when purchased new, and now feels like a wasted investment. I wouldn't suggest this, or any HP monitors.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy HP

This review is from: HP Pavilion 23xi Silver / Black 23" 7ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 10,000,000:1

Pros: when worked - really nice colors - nice design.

Cons: Not usable anymore.....

Other Thoughts: 1 month after the warranty expired, the left half of the screen has a blue/green tint covering it.
Plus, a thin black grid has become visible over the left side.
as a photographer, i absolutely can't work with this monitor anymore since colors are very important.
after contacting HP support, the foreign tech had try to sell me an extended hard drive - BEST IN THE MARKET!!! (?????REALLY????)
i hang up and called again asked to speak with a manager. i proved to the manager that many other people had complained about the exact same issue (that's after he said there's nothing he can do)
and then he offered me a replacement monitor for the cost of "ONLY" $129!!!
I declined the offer and now looking for a new monitor made NOT by HP.
i had learned an important lesson with HP, they do NOT stand behind their product quality.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: HP Pavilion 23xi Silver / Black 23" 7ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 10,000,000:1

Pros: It worked for a one year.

Cons: This monitor worked well until it didn't It died two weeks outside of the warranty date. A monitor with this price tag and very light use should last longer than one year. I can't even get in touch with hp, they want me to pay a fee to even email them. It is ridiculous. Buy any other company's monitor, it can only be better. This thing is junk.

1 out of 5 eggsLooks great, when it works

This review is from: HP Pavilion 23xi Silver / Black 23" 7ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 10,000,000:1

Pros: This monitor has a beautiful sharp, bright, and colorful display with plenty of viewing space. It is thin, and looks great even off, and uses very little power

Cons: It randomly discolored on my old monitor purchased in December, unable to be RMAd I called HP for the warranty. They told me my warranty was expired unless I could prove I had bought it within a year. I showed them an invoice and paid for 1 day shipping for my "tested refurbished warranty replacement". 6 days later my monitor arrived because of confusion on HP's end. I installed my new monitor and shipped the old one back, only for this one to be more broken. The screen randomly goes off like the display feed has been dropped, and the buttons stop working on the monitor, the only way to get the monitor back on is to repeatedly unplug and replug the power jack on the monitor and hope it finally works. After more calling they are finally stepping up to really resolve the situation with a brand new monitor.

Other Thoughts: It is a beautiful product but I am beginning to question the quality of it. I will await my new monitor and hope to see that the quality has improved.

1 out of 5 eggsShort monitor life

This review is from: HP Pavilion 23xi Silver / Black 23" 7ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 10,000,000:1

Pros: Vibrant colors
Sleek design

Cons: Short life

Other Thoughts: Just adding my voice to the others that lament the poor build quality of the HP Pavilion 23xi computer monitor. Just a few months after I bought one the, the monitor began to show minor color issues that I ignored. I should have taken care of the problem then, because just as the monitor goes out of warranty, distinct colored horizontal lines appeared. Hewlett Packard's support is aware of the discoloration issue (as evident by numerous support posts on the web attesting to the colored lines issue) but unwilling to help. This monitor probably had the shortest lifetime out of any non-refurbished monitor I've ever had.
Buyer beware, look at the other similar postings here and elsewhere. If you're going to spend this much on a monitor and want to use it beyond a year's time, make sure it is not an HP.

5 out of 5 eggsSharp!

This review is from: HP Pavilion 23xi Silver / Black 23" 7ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 10,000,000:1

Pros: I have never been a HP fan, but the specs of this monitor intrigued me greatly. All I can say so far is wow! It's looks are solid, it fits in any décor so nicely.
The display has blown me away. The viewing angles are awesome. Being able to just sit in front of it is enjoyable.

Cons: Not free, didn't come with a lifetime of beer. Wasn't packed in gold foil.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend for sure. And the price will be impossible to beat.
