DoubleSight DS-275W Black 27" 6ms (GTG) WQHD H-IPS Panel Widescreen LCD Monitor

Pros: I wouldn't know as I have yet to see it in action.

Cons: I bought this to use an an external monitor for my Macbook Air. I use a smaller Acer monitor currently, using a DVI to mini port adapter. When I plug in the DoubleSight I get nothing. The mac doesn't even recognize that a monitor is plugged in. I then connected it to my home PC, and the green light lit up but the screen remained black. My GeForce 8400 GS is apparently supported.

Pros: 2560x1440, adjustable height, nice looking aluminum bezel, simple to use.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a failed Achievia Shimian Korean (online auction purchased) monitor. The build quality of this display is far superior. I am very pleased.

Pros: High resolution. It's hard to find reasonably priced LCDs with resolutions greater than 1920x1080. I don't see any point in a large screen if the resolution is the same as my 22" monitor.

This has a 2560x1440 resolution, offering significantly more viewing area. It's also not outrageously priced like some other hi-res monitors.

Great image. Unlike other posters, I had no problems displaying POST and BIOS screens.

Cons: Very simple controls; power and brightness adjustment. I suppose you can adjust everything else through your graphics card.

No HDMI input, although you could use a DVI to HDMI adapter. I'm unclear about the HDCP support in this monitor; it's not relevant for me, but might be for someone else.

It's really thick, and has a large power brick, if you care about that sort of thing.

Other Thoughts: Requires a dual-link DVI cable to run the native resolution. It comes with one in the box, but don't accidentally swap it with a single-link cable from some other monitor.

I bought this for CAD and drafting work, and it's fulfilling its role.

Currently using it with an nVidia GT610.

Pros: ...an all brushed aluminum, stripped down u2711, A+ H-IPS panel, low lag 2560x1440 monitor, for $300+less than the u2711.

Cons: stand is not brushed aluminum...and for anti AG users, this panel has
'ultrasharp'-like AG. it is not a glossy display.

Other Thoughts: i was on the fence re picking up one of those 'bay cheap A- ips, or the few similar though A panel models advertised as available in the states, though out of stock most of the time (with reported similar issues to the cheap 'bay A- monitors), a U2711, or an Asus PLS 2560x1440...and then there was the doublesight...
before newegg dropped it's price, i had picked up the doublesight from another vendor.
for this quality of a panel, at it's present price, and from newegg?
unless you want to spend $900+ re a u2711, or around the same price as the doublesight as listed here, for an iffy, always out of stock, iffy (maybe A+ panel), plastic, high lag (you know who you are) models from a few usa vendors, or take your chances with 'bay sub par panels/pcb/build quality/questionable at best warranty, i'd go for the doublesight.

Pros: Great picture and resolution.

Cons: Make sure you have a video card that can drive this monitor. I have a Dell D630/ D-Docking station with a DVI output port and it will not drive the monitor. (No Picture at all when connected to the D-Dock)Had to connect it to my desktop PC, and I connect to my Laptop via remote desktop, and it works fine but if you only have a laptop docking station it would not work.

Pros: High resolution 2560x1440 it's 16:9, bright rich colors. Solid construction, shape matches my cooler master atcs 840 case. Once calibrated you don't have to touch it. If you can find it cheap, BUY it.

Cons: Didn't work with radeon 5770, no boot screen (bios was set to start from PCIE). Nvidia gtx 570 worked just fine. "touch buttons" are very hard to locate, so you have to mark the bezel or use trail and error to find the right one.

Other Thoughts: I'm using it with corel and adobe software, highly recomended. I got dell 24", doublesight 27" and Acer 23.5" monitors working together on two cards- nvidia gtx570 does not support 3 monitors at the same time (checked and verified), so I put radeon HD 5770 as a second one.
Try to find a deal, I paid $400 only.

Pros: Huge 27 inch screen. Exceptional Clarity and color. 'No Frills' design to keep the cost down. Sturdy Construction, highly adjustable base. No dead pixels. Ultra high resolution. Exactly what I expected.

Cons: No DisplayPort/HDMI, but not docking eggs for it, just be aware that you're locked into Dual DVI with this monitor. Gets pretty warm, but the sturdy case seems to diffuse the heat nicely.

Other Thoughts: Currently using this on a GeForce 260 GTX, obviously not getting the fullest out of it. Waiting on my Radeon 6970 to arrive so I can really push this thing, but thus far everything looks fantastic.

Pros: Cheap...

Cons: 1) The EDID return over DVI is rather broken. (Identifies the display as monochrome, has invalid timings, reports having extended attributes when none are present, bad checksum)
2) ATI gpu on my motherboard refuses to initialized the display (resulting in no video).
3) I can get video if I drop an NVidia GPU into the machine.... but the official NVidia drivers on Linux refuse to work with the display. (The Nouveau) driver works however)
4) The colors are overly warm.
5) Calling their support number results in a voice mail box if you don't have an extension to dial and the support over email has been very unhelpful
6) The front plate on the bezel is held down with glue and tends to be very loose/pop up off the glue on its own

Other Thoughts: Don't buy. The display is alright if you use an NVidia card and run windows... but it's certainly not worth buying.

Pros: Looks amazing. Huge. I can be 6 inches away from the screen and not see pixels. Just plug it in and go.

Cons: None. Well, the buttons aren't buttons. They are "touch sensitive"? It doesn't effect me at all. But I know some people like buttons you can press.

Other Thoughts: Great for gaming and general use. Another reviewer said that he couldn't see the BIOS/startup with this monitor. Absolutely not the case for me. I see everything without having to adjust anything. Simple as a monitor should be, plug it in change resolution to 2640x1440 and go.

Other Thoughts: I don't own the product, but just wanted to clarify: 2560x1440 is 16x9, not 16x10. Even DoubleSight's own website identifies this monitor as being 16:9. Just try both divisions and you will see they both = 1.7777.... To have a 16:10 aspect ratio with 2560 horizontal, you must have 1600 vertical, not 1440.
