3 out of 5 eggsMixed review

Pros: This is a lightweight, attractive unit. Brilliant, at least as compared to my 21" LG CCF lit predecessor.

Installation was very straightforward, other than my need for VESA mounting (see cons). It was inexpensive, and the real winner for me was its 12VDC power, as I live on a boat, and that the barrel connector matched many other devices aboard meant that I could take one of my spare pigtails to power it directly from the 12V battery bank aboard.

It's also LED lit, which means a great deal less power used. On a boat where every electron has to be made before it's stored, either by solar or wind generation, or by running a generator, that's key.

The hdmi cable input allowed me to run a remote cable for watching movies; a VGA would not make it through the space allowed in my cable run. I use the VGA cable at my desk, though, and both of those connections did what they were supposed to do.

Cons: You have to modify any VESA I could find in order to not have coverage over both the power and sound-in ports.

Also, the ports are to the rear rather than down in orientation, making clearance in a VESA application a bit dicey.

However, the worst is that it's now failed.

My monitor shows power to it, and, when the computer boots, differing levels of black are seen but never any pixel display. When the cable is unplugged, there is no "no signal" message. Menu key and auto key results in no change. There is a blue light showing data is getting to the display when the computer is running, but no view of any sort.

There was no indication of failure before this - no dead pixels or other artifacts, and no issues, otherwise. It just stopped working, and won't work with any other computer on which I've tried it. Conversely, my computer works just fine with other monitors, so I'm reasonable sure that the problem is in the monitor.

This is well within the 3 years warranty period, but until I look through my records to confirm it, I believe it's not within the 1-year backlight period.

All of that is irrelevant, as this company seems to have dropped off the face of the planet, with NO available website. A message regarding my warranty bounced, and no variation of mag and innovision produced any place to contact when I searched.

Other Thoughts: There are some other sizes available at the moment and indeed, one appears to be a relative clone, the M24LM. If I had any confidence whatsoever that I could receive warranty support, I might buy one, as I presume my problem is with the backlight, and therefore not subject to warranty.

The truth of the matter is that if this failure had not occurred, this unit would receive either 4 or 5 eggs from me, as it's done an admirable job for us until its failure.

1 out of 5 eggsforget analog at 1080-missing screw

Pros: cheap. very thin. Works as well as something with inherent design defects can be expected to.

Cons: 1. poor viewing angle. Don't have too close to you.
2. Missing screw because newegg shipped in original carton which is unsealed so 5 cent screw that is required for monitor to stand on its own was MISSING. After digging around in my nuts and bolts box I found a mounting screw that sort of works.
3. NO phone support for mag. Phone number that newegg repeatedly gave me was for something called ASI voicemail and they of course did not return my call.
4. Unable to properly adjust for 1080 resolution using analog input, so image is cropped on VGA input no matter how you adjust it. NOT good for computer use when you need to see the corners.
5. Color balance way to cool even on cool setting.

Other Thoughts: Separate power supply, that is probably how they got it so thin.
use as a single monitor using HDMI may be ok, if your mounting screw is not missing. I have not tested the HDMI input.

5 out of 5 eggsnice

Pros: Bright, high contrast, non-gloss, no dead pixels. Ok stand design. Usable menu system (but could be better) still has real buttons instead of touch sensitive areas (I'm looking at you samsung). Cheap for its size for LED backlight when I bought it. HDMI works great on my MSI 4870 with native HDMI, no adapters for me :)

Cons: Factory color calibration is just plain wrong, took some tweaking to get the colors looking decent. Stand is only OK, get a mount if you want any real adjustability.

Other Thoughts: Bought this monitor before there were really any reviews but I'm impressed. Also, it was on sale at the time for significantly less than the current price as a daily deal. As always newegg rocks with the fast shipping and sweet deals. to the reviewer that complained about the power light, you're sitting too low or have your monitor too high if you're lined up on that light, it's very directional and unobtrusive if you're lined up to the monitor the way you should be.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Monitor! Some design issues though... nothing you can't fix easily.

Pros: *Great contrast- looks way better than 1000:1
*No dead pixels- dont know what people are talking about... I've never seen a monitor with dead pixels before...
*Full 1080p HDMI input
*amazingly thin.... when you walk into my room, you cant even tell it's there until you get in front of it!
*Good viewing angle
* MOUNTABLE- it's hard to find wall mountable LED monitors (from the research I've done) because of the slim design... so that was one of the selling points on this one for me.

Cons: *Does take a while to switch to my PS3 through HDMI though.... though when I have it hooked up to my computer through HDMI it goes instantly. Not that big of a deal though, and it definately not annoying enough to knock off an egg... thats the only thing I could find!
*Doesn't come with an HDMI cable

*The bright blue light for the power is kindof annoying... one of the TRUE and bright blue LED ones, so it catches your attention really attention, and at the level of my chair, it shines right on my face... have to put some tape over it... no biggie.

Other Thoughts: *The buttons on the monitor not having an exit button for the OSD is somewhat annoying, but again, not enough to knock an egg off for.
* people have also talked about not being able to get any clarity whatsoever out of the VGA input... i have HDMI from my PS3 hooked up and my computer though VGA (just until i get an HDMI switcher) an it looks just as good as HDMI or DVI...
* the HDMI port on the back was a little bit bent on the top... not enough for the HDMI cable to connect though, so it doesn't effect functionality.
*The spacing on the mount holes on the back are 75mm x 75mm, and most have holes for 75x75 and 100x100, so the wall mount's bracket that attatches to the back of the monitor gets in the way of the power and audio out ports... nothing a vice and a metal saw cant handle... i'm the fixer-upper type, so I like to do these things, so just be careful buying a mo

3 out of 5 eggsOk monitor, but needs tweaking

Pros: Pros at first was definitely the price, the thin profile, and also the LED backlit design. The thin profile might not mean much to some, but if you go to LAN's often with a PC or console, it helps to have something really lightweight and at the same time large enough to not squint.
After you tweak the settings, it then becomes good. Blacks are surely black.

Cons: Its picky with some PS3 games not fully playing in 720p (will have to test it out more and review again). It has some really long auto detect times and it would just have a black screen for a while. There is some ghosting in third person games, but funny its not noticable with FPS games or movies when on the PC, hmm? The settings menu is pretty standard. It doesnt have that much options.

Other Thoughts: 23-24" is the perfect size for everything. Even if sitting across the room watching a movie. After some tweaking, I think 100 brightness, 50 contrast, Theatre mode, looked the best.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: Reasonable Price, attractive. Great shipping from Newegg. 3yr warranty.

Cons: Very disapponting display, next to impossible to reach any degree of clarity (analog). Received this with the recommended wall mount (Rosewill RMS-MA3210 Silver 17" - 32" Tilt/Swivel Wall Mount). The wall mount does not work on this display. If you attached it correctly to the Vesa mounting points, you ar not able to plug in the cable as they are completely covererd by the mount. Someone in engineering dropped the ball. The connectors protruded straight out the back making it impossible to attch the cables with any reasonable Vesa mount. Most display manufacturers direct the connectors toward the bottom of the display in-line with the panel plane this allows connections with most Vesa mount manufacturers.
Specific driver availability might improve the appearance. We left email for the manufacturer asking for further direction regarding drivers and or improved display appearance and performance. No joy as yet.

Other Thoughts: Not keen on paying freight to return/replace, but I need to wall mount this unit and current combo won't do the job (Rosewill Mount and MAG 2427).

5 out of 5 eggsgreat sale

Pros: This monitor gave great picture really well priced led was going with asus but it sits too low, you do need to adjust your picture setting in menu i first put it to warm then i manuelly ajusted brightness to 75 left contrast at 50 and set color red geen and blue to 90%, this has decent 5ms refresh the colors just pop nicely for me 10,000:1 lets me see the black and white in shadows more. Its nice to have the monitor controls to the right out of my old g15 keyboard display abit annoying having to push up to use monitor buttons. The main reason i chose led was to avoid the heat which lcd give off no a/c lol monitor is also nice and thin with good weight to it. I know few ppl talk about the base only having one screw holding it in, its fine cause its a pretty big screw with tread lock on tip of screw so once in it really won't be coming out I do suggest using a screw driver and not the key they give to screw in save you alot of energy. 3yr warrenty too.

Cons: When I received my monitor it came in the orginal box. I've red some reviews and was fearful of dead pixel and how you can only exchange with atleast 8 or more so after assembly I found one wierd red pixel in top right was abit annoying lucky I fixed it by simply appling alittle pressure and rubbing it back and forth abit and it went away. By the way you will have to buy a hdmi cable since it don't come with one.

Other Thoughts: Since now I have a 1080p monitor now I will have to invest in a blue ray drive in the near future. since it has hdmi great screen for a cable, satillite or gaming monitor.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor choice

Pros: cheap

Cons: Everything. Poor text quality. Serious ghosting. Recommended resolution puts all of my desktop icons off the screen. Couldn't resize at the recommended resolution. Driver on MAGs website not for Windows 7. Website gives no info for the driver.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a good all around monitor find another.

4 out of 5 eggsNice display

Pros: Very slim, simple design.
Well built and sturdy. Be sure to tighten the base screw as much as you can.
Bright, even backlighting.
Bezel is a bit thinner than most
Audio out from HDMI as source.

Cons: One bright pixel. Fortunately it is at the edge of the screen. Still sucks tho.
Colors are wacky out of the box. sRGB default looks decent but still needs some tweaking.
Preset color modes make text look terrible.
Two screws for the base would had given some Extra peace if mind. Just be sure to tighten the one extra tight!

Other Thoughts: Got this on sale and couldn't be happier. Using it for my second PS3 and as an occasional computer monitor. Newegg delivered effin fast.
