3 out of 5 eggsVery angry

Pros: Once I got one that works, it was nice. Speakers are very helpful and surprisingly good.

Cons: Nothing I hate more than paying my own money to send a product back to Newegg that should have never been sent out. My first one was packed very well and showed no external damage. I think the remaf company do not do very good quality testing. Newegg, beware of those you hop into bed with!

4 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly good value

Pros: Does proper monitor identification, matte screen, includes speakers. Power light is discreet and reflected in the stand. Buttons have a good feel, auto-test when not connected to an input source (not a computer that's off, but a bonafide disconnect of the plug) cycles through the colors and is a fabulous thing I've just never seen before without specifically activating a self-test or computer based test. The monitor design quite nice looking and the panel has decent response speed. Includes all cables you need to get it working (DSUB only, though)

Cons: Tiny vertical viewing angle range, small horizontal angle range. The inner frame trim reflects the monitor light and looks really weird. Included cables are short. Menu is hard to use (no way to get back from a sub-menu) Truly debranded: big huge ugly logo sticker on the front covering the brand and kitschy "HD Color Display" sticker likely covering up the base model number, also has a black sticker on the upper left covering the subbrand. I'm not going to mess with removing them since I don't think I can do it without scratching the glossy frame.

Other Thoughts: For an extreme budget build, this monitor is pretty great. It doesn't have a lot of obnoxiousness. The stand isn't great but there are a lot of really good monitors that also don't have good stands. It appears to have VESA spaced holes in the back but I don't have anything to mount against so I can't see if it's legit to hold the weight. It seems like it's been debranded for that menu navigation issue and the resolution is a little low for the size of monitor... but built in speakers? DVI input? Quite a deal as long as it's still double digits. A bit outdated but quite functional.

I don't have the means to test color quality, but it doesn't look odd at all to my eye.

For those interested, the data connections reveals this is a debranded Compaq (HP) S-1922

4 out of 5 eggsgood deal, bad stand

Pros: its bright, the color is good, not 1 dead pixel or even a scuff mark. it is also very lightweight and the back panel has a nice grippable texture, like there is on the outside of a toolbox or something.

Cons: the stand is extremely flimsy, like really, it's scary having this nice monitor on such a small, flimsy stand, if someone bumps my table the monitor shakes like a bobble head. (the stand doesn't look bad though)

Other Thoughts: maybe include in your budget a wall mounting bracket or something.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive, easy to set up, good range of video in ( both dvi and vga), and has built in speakers. The image quality is pretty good for this machine.

Cons: The only con that I can think of is that the display seems to be really dim, and you have to turn up the brightness to the max level to get a clean image, other than that, no other cons

Other Thoughts: The mounting seems a little bit fragile, but for around 70 bucks, its to be expected

5 out of 5 eggsincredible deal for compact widescreen

Pros: Picture looks good, not incredible but fine and adjustable. No dead pixels. No power brick, just a regular power cord. Great little monitor, would be good for server room etc, I think I might get another one. VGA+DVI widescreen with speakers at this price, really?

Cons: Doesn't include DVI cable

Other Thoughts: Audio and VGA/D-Sub cable are included

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: Fantastic price for a LCD monitor with speakers. Great picture and very easy setup.

Cons: Was not expecting wide screen format but that's not really a con, it's the only thing I could think of.

Other Thoughts: Hope to buy more before New Egg runs out or the price goes up. If you're looking for a LCD monitor to save space and don't want to spend a lot of money I highly recommend this monitor. Great little monitor for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal!

Pros: Beautiful clear and clean screen. Light and easy to set set. But most of all, a great value!

Cons: it took 2 days to arrive, boo hoo.

Other Thoughts: I really didn't know what to exspect. My friend told me about newegg as I was looking for a monitor. When I saw this one for under $100 including shipping I jumped on it. And I sure am glad I did. Now I plan to buy the extended warranty to protect my beautiful new monitor. Good bye 13" old school piece of garbage.
