5 out of 5 eggsOld faithful, might be time to go out to pasture after almost 8 years...or not

Pros: Lasted me almost 8 years and still technically works. Has been a great monitor for computing and gaming.

Cons: Resolution is low by today's standards. Back in 2006 (bought it Feb '06), 720P was decent, however. Something finally is starting to go flaky in its 7th year of operation: I have to flip the on/off switch a few times to get the monitor to power up and display a picture properly once it's gone into sleep mode or has been turned off.

Other Thoughts: I finally decided to move into the new decade once the power up issue started and with monitor prices dropping like crazy. Even a sub $100 24" monitor has much better specs than old faithful, but she's been good for 7+ years. Bought it for $450 after rebate early 2006. I got my money's worth.

4 out of 5 eggsNot a bad TV

Pros: Bought this TV about a year ago and have had no problems. Although it does not have the picture quality of a Sony, you can't go wrong at this price. Picture is average for this type of TV, sound quality is OK. I actually have two of these and have had no problems. I paid $399 after rebate so the price keeps dropping. I doubt you can find a 26 inch HDTV LCD for less.

Cons: The only cons are this unit is not compatable with universal remotes. My Tivo and Direct TV remotes do not work with this TV even after a code search. Also does not have a built in HD reciver.

2 out of 5 eggsOK Product

Pros: It has many features and the screen is big for a bedroom setting. The sound is great.

Cons: The picture quality is bad. I have tried to adjust the colors but no avail. Sometimes I want to return the product because picture quality is below average. It takes a while for it to be on and sometimes I do not know whether it is on or not, so I keep pressing the power button. Also the main switch is in the back of the TV, which is inconvenient. At night I need to get up to turn the main switch off, which the manual tells to do so.

Other Thoughts: I would not buy this product again, neither I would recommend it to my friends or family. I want my money back. I do not like the policy, which says that I cannot return a product that is over a certain amount of pounds.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Price, hope for a good unit

Pros: Price! Price! Price! Best price by alot for similar hardware. Great design, tons of inputs, decent speakers, great picture color/contrast/brightness. Had mine for 5 or 6 months and not had a single problem.

Cons: Lots of people have said they got defective units and had trouble with returns. Response time is a little slow for most high-motion games.

Other Thoughts: I had 1 dead pixle on arrival, but 1 out of a million is acceptable by most standards.

I would have given a 5 rating if everyone else didnt have so many problems with it. Hopefully I wont have any problems

4 out of 5 eggsGREATEST DEAL EVAR! (but mine broke....)

Pros: WOW! where to start... OK I bought a NAME BRAND TV and it's not even as 'good' at twice as much money! Really this has a ton of inputs (even an output!) and great features my expensive tv does NOT have! The speakers (though freakin' HUGE) are EXCELANT.

Cons: OK, yes, mine broke (user negligence... as one review said the rgb/ dvi connections are on the bottom, BUT DON'T LAY IT ON IT'S FACE.... *oops, mine broke* yeah, like that.) and I probley won't go back to it just cuz it wastes energy like a hobo on crack! other than that, 1,000 words aren't ENOUGH to list the good points! Don't EVEN try to service it though.

Other Thoughts: ANYBODY that gives this thing a bad review ISN'T looking at value, they want you to buy more for your buck which is good! I side on value though -_-. But I will say this thing is 2005 or 2004 quality not 2007! No HDMI, Digital sound, ATSC tuner etc.

4 out of 5 eggstruOnyx

Pros: Affordable, silver, bright screen, good resolution for its size, and enough inputs/outputs for other devices

Cons: My set had a weird "whine" like sound in TV mode via cable {coaxial} even with the volume off. This sound is mostly noticable when sitting close to the screen so it may not bother someone using it in a living room or sitting a suitable distance away. When I used my own speaker system it sounded great though.I don't know if the screen or the speakers on the side were the source since mute didn't have any effect. This won't be that much of a deal to someone who keeps the volume loud anyway. The split screen mode does not use the entire height of the display. There will be two gaps of black similar to widescreen movies viewed at normal aspect.

Other Thoughts: It's a great deal for someone wanting a big screen without anything too fancy and the increase in price for a brand name glued to it. It does what it's intended to and didn't disappoint my expectations. Now that I do have the extra cash I'm going bigger and better next year. Niko also makes a 32' for those wanting the same deal but a bit bigger.

2 out of 5 eggsNot so great

Pros: Good price for a 26" LCD TV

Cons: LCD response is sloggish..to switch between channels takes time since the display has to update. Picture quality is poor at best.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat TV if your lucky ;p and I am

Pros: 3 composite (with 1 in/ out!!), 2 s vid, 2 component, 1 dvi, 1 vga, 1 line out and 1 line in (both for audio) I'm exstatic!

Speaking of audio the speakers are quite good if you have to use them (there is 1 line out jack) TV picture is excelant as well.

Price

Cons: Niko has a BAAAAD track record, buyer BEWARE! But I've checked almost every connection on my tv, it's good.

Other Thoughts: Had mine for a month now, no problems

As a small token, the power cable is small and out of the way -_-.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat product

Pros: I have had this product for about 2 months (as of writing this review) and I have had no major problems with it. The picture looks great (both analog and HD signals) and with all the connectors, the possibilities are endless with this product. You can use it as a PC monitor as well as a regular HDTV.

Cons: NONE other than I did notice that the speakers attached to the unit have stopped working. I noticed this a week or so after getting the product. I do not have a coax cable plugged into it, and the only audio source is a gamecube (non HD; all other audio sources are routed to HT speakers), but when I play the cube, no audio from the supplied speakers. When I connect a regular audio cable from the audio out port to my stereo receiver (either phono via AV3 set to out or using the headphone jack) I do get sound. But like I said, this is the ONLY issue i have with this product (which doesnt matter for me since I have external speakers). Otherwise I LOVE THIS TV!

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer eware

Pros: Nice features, sleek design, decent presentation.

Cons: Died after one use. Dealing with manufacturer in Cali was a nightmare. Warranty is completely worthless. Spend a little more and buy a real LCD TV.

Other Thoughts: Too bad Newegg is fronting for such a shady outfit
