Rediculous
- Pros: Bright, sharp, BIG, fast, extremely vivid and just plain sick compared to my old 19 inch LG. Mine also came in perfect condition, no bad pixels that I can see.
- Cons: the webcam kinda sucks and so does the software for it. I had to download beta drivers to get it to work with xp 64 bit
- Other Thoughts: My girlfriend said that this monitor was "complete overkill"
I however disagree :)
- Pros: This monitor is beautiful. Once unpackaged and hooked up I just had to do some minor tweaking to the default settings and it suddenly became obvious why I chose this monitor. The only thing I really adjusted here was the brightness settings as it was cranked up a bit high for my taste. I also went in to my vid card display settings and turned up the resolution and that seemed to make the biggest difference. I don’t really have any immediate plans to use the webcam, but setting it up couldn’t have been easier. As soon as I loaded the software everything worked great. No dead pixels, no dead spots, just perfection.
- Cons: Only con I have is in the shipping. I ordered this on a Wednesday afternoon(12:09pm Pacific), paid for 2 day air shipping + rush order because I wanted it to be at my house in Texas before the weekend. I didn't get it until the followig Monday. I understand there is no weekend shipments, but paying the extra money was a waste in my opinion.
To NewEggs credit, they did credit me back a portion of that money on a future order. Still, I was pretty irked at having to wait the extra days. In the future I will just use standard shipping.
- Other Thoughts: I do a little work on the computer this monitor is hooked up to and so I spend a decent amount of time in MS Office documents and Adobe. Again, once you tweak the settings/resolution staring at word documents on this large a screen is no problem.
Now to why I really got it: online games! COD 4, WOW, Lineage 2 to name just a few look fantastic. I can't begin to tell you the difference between this monitor and the other, older LCD I was using. It just feels and looks like I'm playing a different game. The 2ms time is especially noticeable in first person shooters. Although I've only had it for less than a week, so far I can say this has definitely been worth it.

bad apple
- Pros: Big
- Cons: I bought it 3 months ago, and dvi in it just stopped working tonight. Hooked up a vga cable, and it worked till i changed res from 640x800 to my normal res of 1600x1200. then i was stuck looking at black screen on running pc. Big ol NOW WHAT? Situation.
- Other Thoughts: Had to be inferior workmanship or parts that cause this failure. Was fine before i went to dinner, came back to bright blue screen. Good thing i bought a monitor from newegg a few yrs ago. Dusted it off, hooked it up, and back in buisness, just allot smaller.
- Pros: It's huge, cheap, and video looks great. The real estate is fantastic.
I've got a webcam now, just in case I happen to find a use for it after 10 years of not needing one.
The bevel/stand/casing look nice. I had no problems peeling off the promotional sticker.
- Cons: I still can't get the colors to look quite right near the top of the screen. There is a harshness to the black-on-gray menus in apps when using the Windows Classic theme, and some of the favicons in Firefox (especially ones with a lot of red or blue) look harsh and different than on other monitors.
It also took a long time (weeks) to get the brightness and contrast under control such that it is comfortable to read web pages for long periods.
It takes too long (5-6 seconds) for the image to appear on the screen when turning it on or waking up the PC (after Windows shuts off the monitors due to being idle). This is the case even when the monitor was just turned off a moment before, so it's not an issue with warming up.
- Other Thoughts: Reading text is fine since text normally doesn't begin until 1/4 of the way down the screen. If it were right up in the top 2" the harshness described above might make reading strenuous.
Though my review sounds like I should give it 2 or 3 stars, I'm giving it 4 because now that I've worked out the settings it is very nice to look at.
solid monitor
- Pros: Decent quality for the price. Performs as expected. No dead/stuck pixels. Easy enough to calibrate. Plays well with computer/xbox360/ps3/tv.
- Cons: I don't like the buttons on the bottom right. They feel as if they will break if pushed too hard.
