5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: GIANT! This thing is pretty beastly. I've had no problems with dead pixels and the color looks fine! The speakers aren't the best, but chances are if you buy this thing you probably will have external speakers ready to go anyways.

Cons: Nothing yet!

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome.

Pros: Monstrous, especially compared to the 20" ViewSonics they replaced. Love the 1920x1200 resolution. Bright and sharp, and right at the weight limit of the cheapo monitor stands I'm using.

Cons: I've got two of them right next to each other: one on DVI and one on HDMI. The HDMI display's picture seems to be slightly more vibrant than the DVI's. It's actually gotten annoying over the past two months.

Other Thoughts: I'd assume that two identical monitors that were purchased at the same time would look identical, but apparently not. Other than that, these things have been absolutely fantastic.

We've got three developers in this office using 3 of these each, and they freaking love them as well. Pity they've been discontinued, I need 6 more.

1 out of 5 eggsBright White Pixel

Pros: Great color.

Cons: ASUS will not do a RMA until you have 4 or more bright white pixels blinding you. I always buy ASUS products but not any more. I cannot believe that they want me to look at this bright spot on my screen. Customer service just keeps saying that it is their policy you should have read the warranty information. I looked over the newegg listing of this monitor and it does not say anything about the pixels for warranty issues. You must look it up on the ASUS site.

Other Thoughts: ASUS is great up to the point that you want to have something fixed.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: Have had this monitor for 8 months now and haven't had a single problem. Works beautifully for watching movies, playing games and graphic editing. The size and the clear picture just makes everything easier to do while using the computer. The price was also perfect for me. Definitely not as expensive as some other monitors I've seen. Love it!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: If I had the space and money, I'd buy two more!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy for the size/performance in high end gaming

Pros: I've been using this monitor in my latest build for ~9 months and it has performed flawlessly in high-powered gaming sessions day after day. It's been used very heavily and has held up very well. The gloss finish is nice if your environment is not dusty, but it will attract noticeable dust otherwise. The stand is sturdy. Plenty of presets for on the fly adjustments to different games/movies/etc. May require some fine tuning if you're an advanced tech user but the options menu is very simple to configure. I have no real complaints other than after 3-4 months of heavy use, I developed a pixel that became stuck on in a green-blue color but luckily it wasn't in a spot that's easily noticed, and I very rarely ever notice it at all. If I'm playing a game, it's near impossible to see unless I'm at a menu or black screen and even then I have to look really hard for it.

Cons: Non-fixable, stuck on blue-green pixel after 3-4 months of heavy use. But, that's the risk you take when ordering online and use the monitor as much as I do.

Other Thoughts: It's truly a great monitor for the money, and the only reason I'd replace it is if I upgraded to multiple 3d monitor setup. If you're on the fence with this one, I'd go for it. That's how I felt at first, but then when remembering how well my previous ASUS monitor held up, I decided to go for it and never looked back.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Very nice sized monitor. Not too small, not too big. Perfection in my opinion. Excellent quality, very bright, can be easily adjusted. Almost 2 years and running strong. Not a single dead pixel, Monitor is on atleast 5 hours per day, usually more.

Cons: Colors bleed, I have to adjust the settings depending on what movie I'm watching, or what game I'm playing. You can adjust it near perfect for everything, it's just a huge pain.

Other Thoughts: On occasion, when I put my PC to sleep, I'll wake it up and the monitor won't wake up. I try turning it off and back on and stays black, try going through inputs and nothing, found that if I unplug it for a few seconds then when I plug it back in it works fine. Rare occasion that this happens, but it does.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME

Pros: I have had two of these units for about 3 months. All I have to say is WOW. They are so bright and clear at 1200! I recently bought another for 2D surround it was one of the best ideas I have had. Sadly this review will go no where since they are discontinued...

Cons: Difficult to mount 3 of them in 2D setup. The cheapest bracket is about 250 bucks for a good setup. I made one for about 80 bucks, that halfway does the trick.

Other Thoughts: Great Monitors for the price!

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 16:10 Aspect Ratio (1920x1200) & Price

Cons: Horrible colour out of the box! It's like wearing blue sunglasses... sRGB colour setting seems to work the best so far - still playing with it.

Other Thoughts: Have a dual monitor setup with two of these (currently running off my laptop - still waiting for the desktop components to arrive - while the laptop has a standalone ATI vid card i'm hoping the new desktop vid card will display a better image).

As I'm using it at the office I can't attest to gaming and movie performance - but I can vouch for the awesome spreadsheet viewing experience!

I wish there were more options available in the 16:10 aspect ratio - all the new cr@@p is the überwide 16:9 format - good for movies horrible for webpages / spreadsheets / Adobe design work etc.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor, and BIG!

Pros: Excellent image quality, fast response, no dead/stuck pixels after 1+ years, and it's BIG! The 16:10 aspect is perfect for gaming and gives plenty of real estate for browsing and Windows.

Cons: The connections for the DVI & power are kind of a pain to get to; but once it's plugged in you don't have to worry about them

Other Thoughts: I haven't owned too many monitors; but this is by far the best. I hope to keep it for a while

2 out of 5 eggsI really should have spent more

Pros: Big, cheap, 1920x1200, 16:10 (not that 16:9 junk), lots of inputs, blue power LED

Cons: terrible color reproduction, blacks are awful, terrible viewing angles, poor and uneven backlighting

Other Thoughts: I got 2 of these for my system because they are so cheap for the size and pixels. So, I honestly didn't expect too much out of them to begin with being so cheap and not IPS panels. But I can honestly say I regret getting these as a budget purchase. I should have really spent more and gotten 2 IPS panels. The blacks are horrible, so dark scenes in shows/movies do not look good at all. The viewing angle is no good either. I actually have to tilt them a little bit downward to even allow the top of the screen to not look completely washed out. I'm most disappointed with these monitors when watching videos.

Again, I didn't expect too much out of these when I bought 'em... I'm simply kicking myself for not being willing to spend more at the time. So, be warned that you may be disappointed with these. I'm not even a graphic artist or someone that really requires high-quality screens. I just multi-task a lot, school work, research, programming, media, etc.
