Pros: The screen is bright and super crisp, and the stand is sturdy. No dead pixels, and not a single issue to speak of. It's no wonder this monitor has won so many Customer Choice Awards, it's just plain great.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor to replace an old 19" LCD secondary that failed in my dual screen setup, my only regret is that I didn't buy two of them. Running them side-by-side this ASUS VH242H monitor makes my ASUS VH222H look like a shrimp, and it's only a 1.6" difference between them!

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these monitors. I have to say that they're great, but one of them arrived DOA. The monitor would fade to black after about 5 seconds of display. Selecting a different input would fix the problem briefly, but it always happened again. After a few times the monitor would start to strobe out, and then fade to black. Finally, I couldn't get it to display anything at all. Hoping the replacement won't have the same problem.

Other Thoughts: Mine came with a few dead pixels. That is an instant 2 star deduction in my book since it is a quality issue.

Cons: I stuck pixel and 1 dead pixel... and way too bright! Honestly, it hurts my eyes and I have adjusted and adjusted and adjusted. I might have to send it back.

Color accuracy is not very good. It stands next to a NEC monitor that I trust, and I can't hardly get the ASUS to look similar....

Other Thoughts: It may be ok for gaming, but I wouldn't recommend it for artists or designers that need accurate color representations.

Pros: I'm finally coming to type this quick review after buying it in June of 2010.

As many have already mentioned, picture quality is great. I am especially surprised to see this considering the lower price point for a 23.6" display. The monitor is still going strong after almost two years and absolutely no dead pixels.

Cons: My biggest gripe with this monitor are the poorly designed buttons. They feel very cheap as if they could break easily and the menus are not the most user-friendly to navigate. At first, I was extremely frustrated trying to use them but, like anything else in life, got used to them. Again, these are very minor points and don't think they should detract from the purchase of the monitor. I've had it for 23 months now and the buttons haven't broken off.

Other Thoughts: I cannot comment on the on-board speakers since I have never tried them and have a sound system hooked up instead.

I also have not found any use for the color presets. They're mostly useless, in my opinion.

Pros: Amazing picture
Sleek design
Easy to use buttons/connections

Cons: May appear a little too bright with factory settings, but that is not a real issue.

Other Thoughts: Definitely my #1 recommended monitor out there.

Pros: pros: beautiful large screen, sturdy base, and very impressive fluidity (upgraded from 10y LCD) so it didn't take much for a big upgrade.

Cons: cons: my only small gripe is the color presets are fine but, for me, taking some getting use to. 'game' mode makes most "black" background blue hue and the 'theater' preset fixes this at the cost of turning greens up too much IMO. Only tested on eq2 but -1 egg for this; it might be possible to correct this through desktop but some other reviewers agree with this opinion. Again it's small issue

Other Thoughts: other thoughts: very satisfied overall and w/o a side-by-side comparison of the MANY asus monitors I would recommend this. Also, speakers are what you expect:small, no bass, but speakers nonetheless!
