abnormally bright
- Pros: price was nice, plug and play was snap
- Cons: bottom half of the screen is also brighter than the rest of the picture, suspecting bad or interminient inverter board. whole screen is very bright, difficult to caliberate.
Love this Screen!
- Pros: 1st, it has an adjustable stand which was high on my list of needs in purchasing a 23-24" LCD. Not many have them anymore. Has it all but tilt which I never used anyway.
When I got it out and noticed the Matte Screen, I knew I was in love. Gloss screens bug me, but they seem to offer brighter colors usually. This wasn't an issue on this and the colors are accurate once calibrated.
First screen I've tried with HDMI, and I really like it over DVI now.
- Cons: Bezel is still glossy, but like another stated prior it's not that horrible. Everyone went to glossy bezels and I'm not sure why. It's easy to clean I suppose.
Stand swivel is pretty stiff. I might be able to loosen it though...not sure.
- Other Thoughts: Gave Win7 Calibration a shot and got it in the ballpark for brightness and contrast, but the color part left too much to guess at. It really gets pretty when done with something like Colorvision's Spyder 3 setup.
Just fits my desk's hutch. I'm so glad Newegg lists the dimensions and that they're accurate. Looks awesome as a centerpiece of an Asus Trio for multi-monitor goodness. I want more Asus screens!
Replaced an aging (but still good) 223BW.
- Pros: Matte finish screen so no glare. Included stand is sturdy and easy to adjust and connect. No dead pixels. Liked all the included materials. Nice upgrade from a 19" 5 yr old 4:3 monitor! Games look great, very crisp colors.
- Cons: One side of tape was slit on the box, making you wonder. And with only 1 piece of tape holding the box shut it could have gotten ugly.
- Other Thoughts: Never hear anything good about built-in speakers so I haven't bothered to hook them up and try them out to see how good/bad they are. Wasn't super bright on start up for me like for some other reviewers. Was just right. Computer recognized it right away.
