ASUS VE198T Black 19" 5ms LED BackLight LCD Monitor w/Speakers 250 cd/m2 ASCR 10,000,000:1

Pros: While it works, it's great.

Cons: After one month had a dead pixel, no big deal but annoying. After two months, monitor dies. I believe the back light went out so the monitor gets so dark it's unusable. RMA it back to ASUS. After two weeks of waiting, they email me back and say nothing is wrong and ship it back to me. I put it up and it appears to be working again for a few hours. The next day it's dead again. I have tried everything to get it working again. It's not my computer, the videocard, or the cables, it's the monitor; I've check everything. Maybe 1 time out of 10 it will suddenly start working, but as soon as it turns off for any reason, It's gone again. ASUS clearly didn't put any effort into finding out what is actually wrong so I guess I'm out my money now.

I have owned (and continue to own) 2 other ASUS displays but now will never buy from them again.

Other Thoughts: Just hope that you don't get a lemon because ASUS doesn't have your back.

Pros: 2 thumbs up

Cons: few things. the speakers in the monitor are really bad, for example i played highest settings on a game and i could hardly hear the words.. the stand is bit flimsy.

Pros: This is a great smaller display. Great back lighting. Display is crisp and clear. Stand was stellar for a display in this price range. Sub 100.00

Cons: Speakers are a little weak. Fine for basic windows sounds.

Not 1080....

Other Thoughts: This is a fantastic display for the price range. LED back lighting is smooth. Looks great and is very stable. Great purchase.

Pros: -bright
-light
-good resolution
-excellent price

Cons: -speakers (but then again you can just hook up some speakers or a headset. not cracking an egg for that)

Pros: very low power, bright led back lit, no dead pixels

Cons: bad description, it says i can run it at 75Hz which is the reason i got it, called asus and their unskilled poor tech support tell me that my graphics card does not support 75Hz refresh rate... I have a GTX 470 :/ and my older monitor from hp ran fine at 75hz

Other Thoughts: gotta love the free shipping, just multiply the days they say by 2 and that's how long it will take to ship

Pros: -Bright
-Easy to use
-Speakers
-Both DVI and VGA ports (cables are also included)

Cons: -Speakers are bad, but it is an LED monitor so there is a reason.

Pros: Working as expected. Love the fact that it's Energy Star and the Splendid feature. Always makes my eyes go WOAH when i goto scenery.

Cons: None

Pros: Colors are nice, LED backlit is nice, decent automatic color presets (though they were a bit bright for me so I used Standard with some changes.)

HDMI works with an HDMI->DVI adapter.

I mounted it on a VESA monitor mount.

Cons: the screen is 16:10, but there is no 16:9 letterbox mode. This means I can't use it for a PS3 ):

Pros: Packaged well, all cords supplied, affordable 19" monitor.

Cons: Dead Pixel

Other Thoughts: I am a huge fan of ASUS products, laptops, routers, usb wifi adaptors etc. and I have always recommended the ASUS brand to my loved ones because I trust ASUS. I have been satisfied with ASUS many times. Unfortunately, that winning streak has come to an end. I was disappointed to discover that the brand new monitor I received had a dead pixel. Everything else works great except for that eye sore dead pixel. I don't want to deal with having to ship it back and wait, plus my sister whom I bought it for really needs to use her computer and so we can't deal with having to return it for a replacement. I just wish and recommend that ASUS further up their standards in quality control.

-Splendid Modes
-Works
-Nice LED light indicating standby mode
-No Dead Pixels

Cons: -Built in speakers aren't the best (not a con for me but for some)
-Wobbles a little(Once again not a con for me since it only wobbles a little, people are making the wobbling seem too exaggerated way to much unless they are slapping their monitor every second. )

Other Thoughts: Will hope to use this monitor for a couple of years.
