5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor, Decent Price

Pros: Truly wide gamut (100%+ Adobe RGB)
Great Ports
Easily Configured
Price compared to similar monitors is pretty good
Solid Warranty (though I haven't made any attempt to use it)

Cons: Heavy (but not meant to be moved, so not much of an issue)
Could always be cheaper
Silly grid button feature

Other Thoughts: Really love this monitor. It's great for photo editing and does wonders toward making prints which look the way you intend. The price is stomachable, and even for general productivity, 24" is pretty useful.

1 out of 5 eggsHuge QC Problems

Pros: Large Size
Great Pixel Density
Displayport
Card Reader/USB Ports
CCFL
IPS Panel

Cons: I've had 2 of these monitors for just about 2 or more years now. I've had to get one of them replaced about 8 times and the second one about 6 times. Sadly, this is no joke.

I'm a graphic design professional and I use color management devices such as X-Rite's I1Display Pro to calibrate my printing and display environments. I have never ever received 2 monitors that matched in backlighting and it drives me insane.

One monitor always has a red tint to the backlight when viewing a white background and the other is always a green tint. I've sunk an enormous amount of hours into getting acceptable results without luck. (the OSD will not fix backlight tints nor will calibration tools, it's just a defect). It also doesn't help that Asus has 2 models of this unit floating around, an older model with bright white lettering on the bezel and a new one with dark grey lettering, to my understanding that have different backlight technologies also. I've tried calling X-Rite to make sure i'm calibrating these right, I've done tons of tests on the backlights (by the way the backlighting is always heavily uneven on most of the monitor's I've received.). I've tried many different inputs to calibrate, I've tried having 2 separate GPU's to hold different color profiles, I've even tried different GPU's & motherboards entirely. There is just no way to have two of these and expect them to be close, this also makes me come to the conclusion that just using 1 might not even get you the best results either.

Mishaps while RMAing units:
On one instance I received someone else's returned unit, still broken and scuffed up by mistake. On another instance I received my own monitor that I sent out back by accident without even being looked at. Another instance I received a unit that had worn down 'holes' in the screen so you got purples halos behind your image (They were not physical holes but defects in the screen itself).

After all those times they finally escalated me to the top repair technician for Asus USA, Eric Sablan. He tried to be really helpful and he did his best but the 2 monitors he sent me were still not a match, they were closer but still not good enough in the backlight hues to be acceptable. Not to mention one of inputs on one of those specially hand picked units occasionally displays no input but shows it's on forcing me to toggle the PSU switch on/off to get it working again. It's highly annoying.

So what do you do after 14 Returns and the last pair specifically matched for you by the top tech when one of the units doesn't function right? I have no idea! Send them back for another month+ of not having them just to get another set of mismatched units? I'm so upset.

In the total ~2 years I've owned these monitors I've actually only been able to use them for 1 year, they have been tied up in RMA's for an entire year in time between the 14 total RMA's (Usually 1-1.5 months each time, rarely a few weeks).

If these are pro monitors why is thei

Other Thoughts: I keep asking them to please refund my money, I'll send them the displays, I just want my money back. But Asus is sneaky. Asus USA takes no corporate responsibility for their products, Asus USA as they claim, is ONLY a repair service. They are not provided with the means to refund US customers and they get testy with you when you ask for way to contact those who can help with that. I've really close to pushing some legal action against them, what happened to Lemon Laws? I find this business practice deceptive.

Asus Rep, If you see this, Please do the right thing, help me out. I want out of this investment. I gave Asus more than a fair chance to make this right and I'm getting walked all over on this. Please help me get in touch with the right people.

It even isn't just limited to this monitor, Every Asus product I've bought within the last year has been out to service, my GPU (5 Service Events, resulted in an upgrade to a newer but equal GPU), my router, and wireless receiver as well.

If you're thinking about buying this, Pass on it, save the headache.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor and a good price

Pros: This monitor came with a complete rundown of all testing and calibration right from the factory. I plugged it in and it was spot on color wise right out of the box. I teach photoshop and photography and often find myself bragging out about how much I like this monitor for price as well as color accuracy. I would advice anyone to buy this if color accuracy is important.

Cons: Can't think of any.

2 out of 5 eggsbad moniter

Pros: worked great for a while

Cons: will not last 2 years and asus don't want to fix it.

Other Thoughts: i sent this moniter in for repair and i did let them know what was going with this thing, blinking and going black and ascreen looks dim as hell all of a sudden, hooked it up to a older system same thing, put my 4 year old samsung back and no problem. hooked my dell moniter which is new back in as the 2nd moniter on my main system no problem, which is hooked up with the asus 120hz 27in, told this to there so called techs, and they send me a email asking what problems i am having with the moniter. if i don't respond in 24 hours they will send it back unfixed. i don't expect this 120hz hz to last long also. i will never buy anything from asus again. i feel really bad spending all my dammn money on there products.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear force99,

I’m so sorry about your monitor. I would like to help you out. Please provide me your RMA# as I am willing to look into your case and see if I can reopen it. My email is cl-celeste@asus.com and use this ref#1072-9270 in the subject line.

5 out of 5 eggsNo complaints

Pros: 1: Great color and contrast
2: Good build quality
3: Excellent input options
4: Hasn't ate my cat

Cons: 1: Height adjustable stand could go up a bit more
2: Thicker border than I'd like for running two of these

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about, as I have two of these screens and have used every test I could find to see any faults and haven't found any.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Monitor

Pros: This is one of the best monitors I have ever owned. Easily compares to 1000$ dells and NEC monitors. Preset RGB settings and measurements on screen! Color reproduction is very wide and brilliant. This is the best monitor around, unless you go QHD, for 500$. Have owned this monitor for over a year.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: The wide range of brightness control allows anyone to use this outdoors in direct sunlight, with no clouds. I use brightness in srgb mode at 22 or usermode at 18 indoors. At 100 it is blinding. HDMI and displayport sending audio. USBHub does not work with monitor in sleep or off. Very long warrenty a great investment!

1 out of 5 eggsStill am mad at this company

Pros: It is what it is

Cons: Dead pixel with no support. You think in this day an age they would text these before sending them out. But no. And when I spoke with Tech support back and forth for a month, and sending them a bunch of pictures numerous times with different color backgrounds, and really spending a lot of time with them, they eventually told me that they dont cover monitors with only one dead pixel.

WHY WOULD THEY NOT SAY THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE

I work for a fairly large company in the IT department and let me tell you, this was NOT a good test run for Asus products at the office.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I’m sorry to hear your pixel issue. Please check-out this page which explains our Zero Bright Dot Policy: http://www.service.asus.com/arr.html#!zbd/cjej

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Not seeing any

Cons: Too many negative aspects about this unit are discouraging based on a majority of recent reviewers

Other Thoughts: I'm shopping for a reliable quality 24" IPS Monitor. I hate to say this at the expense of so many who had problems with this monitor that I will most definitely stay away from purchasing an ASUS branded unit. It appears their product and customer service Hail Mary attempts are terrible. They appear to only resolve matters by having a Rep come on here to try to help now that it's a published complaint about the product and lack of proper warranty conduct by the Manufacturer. These factors have confirmed my decision to buy the Dell Ultrasharp 24" U2412M IPS LED unit as the reviews are extremely positive from purchasers with over 200 reviews on the web. Companies like this will eventually go away if we stop patronizing them. How despicable - I feel badly for all who have been victims of their purchase. Thank you Newegg for your review sections so we can make informed decisions in our purchase from you.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear toptobottom,

I apologize for the inconvenience, but could you please tell me exactly what your monitor issues or those "negative aspects" are? PA246Q has been an exceptional experience for most customers. But if you’re having issues with it, I am willing to help you troubleshoot it. Should you require further assistance, please contact me at cl-celeste@asus.com and include this ref#1072-8024 in the subject line.

2 out of 5 eggsMy monitor started flickering!

Pros: Great while it worked. Incredible color calibration and great price.

Cons: I bought this monitor for my wife who is a graphic artist. Now after about 6 months of use the screen is flickering and going black. I am calling ASUS tomorrow for a rapid replacement. If ASUS does not fix my problem I will never purchase another ASUS product. It is ridiculus how many people have had issues with this model of monitor.

Other Thoughts: Asus better start resolving the service issues with these monitors or they will continue to lose customers.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I’m so sorry to hear your situation. Have you tried plugging the monitor to a different outlet or location? If you would like to discuss this issue with me further, please contact me at cl-celeste@asus.com and include ref#1072-8040 in the subject line.

2 out of 5 eggsWas a good monitor

Pros: While it worked well it was a great display; bright, great colors.

Cons: After three months the monitor would flicker when first powered on or awaking from sleep. It has gradually gotten worse in the last month. The symptoms seem to indicate that the power supply is going bad.

Other Thoughts: Don't know if I want to mess with ASUS support based on the experience of other reviewers. Don't want a refurbished monitor that I paid full price for and it seems that others have received replacement monitors with the same problem.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
