3 out of 5 eggsNot quite HDMI

Pros: Great display. Decent price.

Cons: The whole point of HDMI is to have audio streaming from the monitor itself. This model does not have built in speakers. You have to plug speakers into the monitor. If I was going to do that, I wouldn't need an HDMI monitor!

Other Thoughts: n/a

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good Monitor

Pros: -Amazing colors
-Outstanding contrast
-A-MVA panel
-No aggressive Anti-glare
-No Backlight bleed
-True 8-bit colors

Cons: -Some ghosting (not enough to be distracting)
-Monitor came with a slight green tint...I reduced the Green value to 96 in the RGB settings and it vanished
-The "Trace Free" setting doesn't seem to remove ghosting but instead causes some strange color distortions during fast motion.

Other Thoughts: I love this monitor. If I look for ghosting, it is there but otherwise, it is unnoticeable. The colors are accurate and vibrant. The blacks are distinct and inky. The A-MVA panel really sets this monitor apart. I was using an e-IPS panel which had a lot of backlight bleed and bad IPS glow (blacks turn violet at an angle). That monitor also had an aggressive anti-glare film while this monitor has a semi-gloss screen (not enough to reflect images but not non-reflective). This monitor fixed all my gripes with the e-IPS. Also, I used an hdmi switch to plug in my PC, Xbox, and PS3. I would have liked to see DVI/DP but i knew it was just hdmi/vga when I bought it.
My settings are:
Standard Preset
90 brightness (I use it in a bright environment)
80 contrast (default)
R-100 G-96 B-100
Trace-free - 40

5 out of 5 eggsME GUSTA

Pros: Sleek look
Great color
Easy setup
Nice stand

Cons: Many others have said this, but it only has 1 hdmi! I need to use the vga for my computer and hdmi for my xbox, just kinda a drag and I wouldn't need to keep switching my audio of my computer to the monitor.

Other Thoughts: Great monitor, really, I got it for 150 after the mail in rebate. I was hesitant about it initially, but I have ended up really liking it.

3 out of 5 eggs178 deg viewing angles, too much contrast

Pros: 178 deg angle non-TN panel. rotating clip pedestal feels more solid than other cheap pedestals. very thin. very small laptop-style power supply.

Cons: too much black! on default settings it was hard to make out details in dark images and I wasn't able to make it much better quickly fiddling around.

doesn't appear to have VESA mount points... tho maybe it is hidden somewhere

screen is over-so-slightly glossy. definitely matte, but glossier than other matte panels.

Other Thoughts: I think this is a good cheap panel, but if you are picky about colors or imaging you might be dissappointed. Nice for office work (would be better if it were 16:10 but you know...) Compared to my old (and dying) W-house 24" PVA panel(not expensive), this panel was far inferior in terms of color and contrast.

4 out of 5 eggsNice, Affordable Option

Pros: -1920x1080
-Super light and thin, very easy to transport.
-Good price
-Asus, matches the rest of my computer well; Black

Cons: -Had to settle for a 24" due to cost
-Not a big fan of the buttons (they're touch sensitive, the technical name is evading me atm), not physical buttons
-No DVI, though DVI to HDMI cord is good enough. (Why use VGA on this thing?)
-Finger-Grip thing on the screw that connects the two base pieces catches on the plastic when I tightened the screw. Oh, and it broke off. I just keep it in the box now.
-On of the little plastic pieces on the piece that covers up the screw on the back of the monitor broke off the first time I took it off. It still stays on but comes off pretty easy now.
Overall = 3.5 eggs (rounding up to 4 since half eggs can't be awarded)

4 out of 5 eggsCannot Hook monitor stand to these

Pros: Decent enough picture

Cons: Need a LCD stand of some sort or you will always be looking down at this monitor.

only 1 hdmi 1 vga

screen menu settings can be a pain to work with

Other Thoughts: I would probably get something with a stand or has the ability to hook a stand up to these.

5 out of 5 eggsStunning, does what it says and more

Pros: Amazing Contrast, Bright and Vibrant Colors, Super Fast Response Time, Great Design, Viewing Angle, VERY THIN (like anorexic =D )

Cons: The circular stand is a bit awkward and has a rather large foot print, but keeps the display extremely sturdy

Other Thoughts: I purchased this display to replace a Samsung 24" display I bought 6 months ago after the HDMI failed on it. I used my refund to purchase this display. I use it with my 15" Early 2011 MacBook Pro. WOW does this thing deliver on what it promises. The color is amazing out of the box (and even better once you calibrate it with the OS X Display Utility). Response time is super fast and all of my HD content looks just as clear as it does on the 55" Sony Bravia we use in our office. As a previous Apple employee, I can say that this display easily matches or bests the current Thunderbolt and Cinema Displays (for 1/5 the cost might I add). The fact that there is an 3.5mm audio jack on the back to send my HDMI audio to external speakers is a great addition. I am strongly considering purchasing another to have a dual display setup. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and I'm sure that you will be should you choose to buy one. Easily the best display you can find for $200 or less.

5 out of 5 eggsBrilliant

Pros: Very vivid colors, nice blacks, impressive horizontal viewing angles. Backlight touch buttons are very cool (but see cons). Unbeatable price for a MVA panel. Gorgeous picture quality at this price point.

Cons: Minor: The backlight on the controls turns off when they aren't in use. You have to hit a button for them to become visible again. No ICC profile available from ASUS (maybe not an issue). No height control on the stand.

Other Thoughts: The actual panel used in mine is a AU Optronics AMVA M240HW02 V1.

4 out of 5 eggsValue, Beauty, and the Beast

Pros: This screen is beautiful. The colors come in vibrantly and black actually looks like black. It's lightweight but does not feel flimsy or cheap. It has a power brick instead of an internal inverter which makes it extremely thin. Its easy to turn this screen with one finger. The touch controls work nicely. The lights from the controls are not obnoxious. You can't find this screen anywhere else for the price it is here, even with shipping. At a cool $207 after standard shipping, it is well worth the buy.

Cons: No display port. I'm not sure why display port isn't standard at this point. Detects as a HDMI television rather than a flat panel and is treated as such. This screen takes a bit of tweaking to get it to look right. Some of the reds on my panel were extremely saturated before I adjusted it.

Other Thoughts: For those who are comparing sizes: The LCD panel is actually longer than the panel on my 24inch 16:10 1920x1200 monitor. If you're upgrading from a 1920x1200, you won't miss the actual real-estate. You will only the pixel real-estate.

There is one caveat: If you plug this in to your AMD Video Card and the output isn't the size of the screen, insure you go in to the catalyst control panel and move the scaling slider to max. This will fill the screen.
